Jalapenos Mexican Restaurant

The place wasn't the cleanest but the food was yummy. I felt like the queso portions were small for their prices. We enjoyed our food and it came to our table quickly. But my food came out 5 minutes later than everyone else's, despite being the simplest dish.

Excellent margaritas, a large gets you right. The food was good and the salsa is some of my favorite in Montgomery. Highlights of my meal were the Flauta and the Chile con carne. Not busy at all on a Thursday night. Staff were awesome. I will return soon.

I'm a regular at this particular establishment as it, unlike most restaurants in Montgomery, has yet to let me down. The food is tasty, the price is low, the service is fast, and the people are fun. While not the best Mexican restaurant in the world, it is probably the best one in town with a wide selection of goodies that allows me to order something new every time. I have yet to be disappointed. Furthermore, on Thursdays, they have 2.50 Margaritas that are fantastic and will get you drunk. If you don't have work on Friday, it's a good time. I recommend getting dinner and drinks here and then walking across the street to catch a movie while you sober up. It's my favorite thing I do on a regular basis.

The tucked inside alley feel is nice on approach, as is the sound of running water from the indoor fountain once inside its softly lit interior. Well laid out with the bar up front totally separate from the eating area, as well the bath rooms well to the rear down a hallway ( but easy to find). Sports played on the few tvs with music very softly in the background. Food was delivered hot and the chicken had an excellent flavor. My chimichanga had ample amounts of both cheese sauce and tomatoes, no skimping here. The chimichanga itself was of a moderate size. My daughter's soup was a large portion. Service was slower and less attentive than expected as it was not crowded at all, but friendly . A male host greeted us as we came in and sat us.

I have seen pictures of this food and I needed to try! This food was absolutely delicious and made me want to try everything on the menu! A great selection as well as friendly service. Our waiter was super outgoing and welcoming. Overall amazing experience. This is “Pollo loco” / steak loco. I got steak and it was so cheesy and filling. My fav off the menu from everything. Fresh chips and a good amount of water to keep you full. Highly recommend! Thank you .

One of our old school favorites from when me and my wife worked together in this area and started dating. We stayed here like twice a week during lunch. We've changed jobs so we don't go near as much but 19 years later Jalapeños is still great.

This "Alley" restaurant is wonderful. It's quite busy so plan to be close to other people inside. The service is good and the food is excellent.

We ate here last night as a group of six and were sat immediately. The wait staff were very attentive, friendly, and accomodating, offering new salsa, chips, and water as soon as we ran out. There's a wide variety of food. Everyone's food was ready within 10 minutes of ordering. Would highly reccomend for families.

If you would have asked me about my experience here before today, I would have told you that this is one of my favorite Mexican places to visit. But after today, I won’t be back. My boyfriend and I were eating and he found a roach(?) (some kind of bug) in his food. I’m not sure at what point it made its way in his plate because it was alive but covered in the sauce. I regret not taking a picture or video, but I think we were both shocked. The waiter came over when we called and seemed unfazed about the bug. He bought us the check and asked if we wanted anything else. Once we said no, he said sorry and walked away.

I have had very good food several times at Jalapeños, but on this occasion I wanted to impress my friend from El Paso with a Mexican dish. She ordered in Spanish and our food arrived. No cheese on anything that usually has cheese. Chicken enchilada was unseasoned canned chicken barely warm in rolled a dry corn tortilla with no cheese but floating in a green sauce that didn't even reach the enchilada. We were disappointed in the unsavory presentation and taste of the food. I will return because I know they can do better.

Went for lunch and Idk if it’s because I ordered off the lunch menu but the food was awful! Got a chicken quesadilla and the chicken tasted like it came out of a can and absolutely no flavor. Will not return to this location!!

The greeters at the door were very friendly and inviting. When she sat us down I feel like we were immediately judged by the waiter. His whole attitude towards us was nasty when he sat the menus on the table. We asked for frozen margaritas and be brought back margaritas on the rocks which was not an issue. The issue came when we explained that we asked for frozen. He grabbed the cups and left. When he arrived with the new drinks he told me in a very nasty tone, “Someone else will be taking your order.” I asked the new waiter why did the other waiter leave and he said, “He’s busy,” but I can clearly see him doing nothing. I really hate to give them 1 star but the waiter deserved it. I will not visit this location ever again.

First time dining and was served charred chicken fajita. Never in my years have I ever been served that. I wish I had taken a photo. They did take it back to the kitchen to redo. Will not return to this location.

I ordered nachos and it was awful. They werent even nachos it was lettuce with beans with chicken all mixed together. I dont even know what it was. Food had no flavor and it was just AWFUL. We went there because it was 5 stars but i give it 2 star.

The only Mexican restaurant in montgomery you should buy a margarita from is Ixtapa in eastchase! Every else you might as well buy a Sonic slushie. At jalapeños you won't taste tequila in the margs, nor rum I'm the daiquiris!

I ordered the Pick Your Lunch combo. You can pick 2, 3 or 4 menu items from a long list for a certain price. I ordered a beef and bean burrito, a beef enchilada, Spanish rice and refried beans. When the oval plate came out, I could not believe how much food was on the plate. I had enough leftover for another meal. It's available for lunch only (11:00 to 3:00) and is offered 7 days a week. The 4-item combo was $9.99 and you get a lot for your money.

It's a nice hole in the wall type restaurant,but the food is of the highest quality and quantity. It's a great place to bring big groups of people to enjoy a meal together without feeling suffocated. Great joint if your ever in the mood for Mexican food!

We were here tonight, got right in, & the service was great....Very friendly! However, the chips were hard & chewy, along with burnt parts on our food, & missing parts of my ordered dish. It was fairly cheap though.

Took my students on a field trip so they could experience ordering in Spanish. The food was decent, not superb. However the server was phenomenal. He honored my request to only speak in Spanish and made sure my students were taken care of even though they were really busy. He was patient and very attentive to their needs. Therefore I give it 3 1/2 stars for food but 4 for service.

Today the food was cold and they got my order wrong. I did not send it back because it just was not worth it. I understand that we all have bad days, but there is a certain expectation that your food will at least be the right temperature and if you ask for no meat, there should be meat.

The service and the food compliment each other both mediocre. Took forever to get waited on, and the chicken tasted like it came out of a can. Same texture and "funk" in the taste. Beers where cold so two stars

This was the second time at the restaurant, and the service was horrible. The server was not only disrespectful, but they also made us wait 30 minutes before they thought to come to us after serving drinks. I have never felt more disrespected and disappointed with a place
