We were the first to arrive at 11 am for lunch. Service was attentive and efficient. Our food was pretty good although the chili relleno was the one disappointment and the enchilada was also just ok. We both enjoyed trying the Salvadoran pupusa… a handmade tortilla with beef and cheese embedded so it turns out differently than what you would expect from a Mexican tortilla.

Yes this place is very delicious as far as your food and very comfortable atmosphere. All though this establishment can get busy at times so sometimes I order to go ‼️ I strongly agree that anyone looking should go here to eat .

I prefer a higher inspection rating (they have a 92, not bad), but I hadn't been there in a long time, so I treated myself to a quiet lunch on the balcony. Wished the chicken had more flavor with seasonings.I had to add salsa to give it some umph. The Watermelon Margarita 🍹 was delish! Great, attentive service!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

A favorite restaurant of mine. Great tex-mex menu, and ofcourse they have street tacos (Chicken Ranch and Compachano). Friendly staff and great environment. I'm reminded I need to come here more often. Some of the best quesadillas, good margaritas, and even the little things like the rice and beans are great. Honestly rank La Zona Rosa in the top 2 for local Mexican. Five stars from me. It can get a little busy at peak hours so sometimes there is a wait.

Food is a bit salty and pretty expensive for the type of food. The empanadas are pretty good, tacos a little bland but decent. Horchata taste a little weird couldn’t get past 3-4 sips. Location is a pain to try and leave that plaza as you can’t see the oncoming traffic over a slight hill.

Service is above and beyond. I got a large order for work (25 people and all separate orders). The food was ready on time even though their machine was down and they had to hand write all of the orders. My receipt didn’t include the tip and months later the owner worked with me to track down the initial receipt so that I could fix the problem with reconciling my work bill. Totally above and beyond!

Our first time visiting here we were refused service while the restaurant was completely empty on a Monday afternoon. Although I have not visited before, this has disappointed my expectations of this restaurant and area in general. I wouldn’t waste my time with visiting if you dont look like what they’re usual customers.

The atmosphere was very quaint. The hospitality was above and beyond. My entree was too salty for me and my wonderful waiter did not hesitate to provide me with a different new dish. And it was definitely delish. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area or visiting the area. This should definitely be tried for this genre.

Ordered delivery and got the Burrito especial and there was nothing special about it. The burrito wasn’t folded and the cheese sauce was watery. The steak was overcooked and there was more veggies then there was meat . Please train your chefs on being able to assemble a burrito and also how to properly cook steak. The rice was dry and churros were rock hard. This isn’t Mexican food .

As a Mexican person myself all I can say is, THIS IS NOT MEXICAN FOOD AT ALL!!!! The food was down right horrible, it's dry and taste VERY bland. My parents starting laughing because they food they served us felt like it came right out of the can including how bad it tasted. And also the "tortilla" they gaved us was store bought like you can literally go into a Mexican Convience Store and buy them right there for 2-3$ for 60 pre-made tortillas in one bag!!!! SMH!

I wish I was there now. NOT. This WAS my favorite place. The last time I went to eat there the speakers were broken no music , just noise. The chips were crushed and I ordered queso and could not find a chip big enough to enjoy the dip. The bathroom is gross. I will never go back. The staff was rude.

Came on a friday about 5:15. It was starting to get busy, but no wait. Chips & queso came out fresh, hot, and good, and we were hopeful. Ordered a lengua taco, tilapia taco, pollo con queso with a side of flour tortillas and a chicken tenders meal for my 2 year old.
Everyones food was NOT good. Somehow my lengua taco, which is marinaded, was dru as was my tilapia. I couldnt even eat it all and i was starving.
My husbands pollo con queso was the nlandest hes had (he gets that everywhere). And i dont know what was in those tenders but it couldnt have been chicken, or they had reheated them from the day before. His fries were fine.
I dont know how this place has the reviews it does.
Maybe we came on an off night.
We won't be risking it again though.

The gentleman serving us was amazing. He was efficient and brought drinks, chip refills, ect, without us even needing to ask, in spite of how many tables he was taking care of. Very impressive! The food, on the other hand, was so very disappointing. There were 7 adults (and 2 children) celebrating my daughter's birthday, and everyone ordered something different. No matter which dish was sampled, there were none of the expected flavors or seasoning, everything tasted processed, no hint of authentic Mexican. The chicken fingers and fries my granddaughter ordered were the only food items that didn't disappoint... now that was depressing! We spent over $200, so we will most likely not risk trying this restaurant again in the near future.

It was a cold, gloomy, and cloudy day, and my group was looking for a cozy place. La Zona Rosa offered prompt friendly service. While we waited we snacked on very light and crispy tortilla chips; the salsa was perfect (not too watery or chunky).
I had the black bean soup and a side of Mexican street corn. I love black bean soup and this was perfect. Simple broth (chicken?), which by itself was ok. But when I added the pico del gallon and avocado slices it really came together. The tortilla strips finished it off for a tasty filling meal that I recommend. Others had a veggie quesadilla, chicken soup, and beef street tacos. Very large menu with wide range of Latin flavors, from fried plantains to Lengua tacos. I definitely want to go back and try some other flavors.

Avoid pupusa. No ingredients included. I went with a table of 8... I would say 50% of people loved their meals and 50% were quite disappointed. I was one of the disappointed ones. Especially when my pupusa had no meat and they argued with me that it isn't supposed to have meat... Menu reads that it includes pork though.

The service was absolutely exceptional. Quick, efficient, pleasant and unobtrusive yet very attentive. We had fajitas (1 chicken and 1 steak) which were very good, although I felt my steak fajita was missing something, spice-wise. You try it, see what you think. Will definitely be going back whenever we're up for Mexican!

I don’t know if it is the new cook the have or server, it is someone preparing the to go orders or delivery order, they need to be fired, this is the third time I have ordered and they are missing my tortilla and other food I ordered, also putting 2 cover lids on my food, not only those this give to your restaurant bad reputation but they are also wasting your supply’s, they need to be fired or trained because next time this happens I am personally coming up to that restaurant

This afternoon, I had a late lunch at La Zona Rosa and found it quite average. I started with slow initial contact after being seated. This was with the restaurant at less than half capacity. On multiple occasions, I noticed no wait staff present in the dining area.

After being waited on, I found the waiter to be very polite. After ordering, I tasted the chips and salsa, which was more like spicy ketchup. The house guacamole was much better.

I ordered a Chili Plablano, Chicken Quesadilla, and Chicken Flaunta. First, the Flaunta was very good, as was the Chili Plablano. The Chicken Quesadilla was very bland, and the chicken had no flavor at all. The plating and presentation were nice and clean.

The prices are typical of most area Mexican restaurants. Overall, the experience was nothing special but was not a turnoff for a return visit if I was in the area.

Montgomery has a wide variety of Mexican restaurants. However, La Zona Rosa is easily one of the best. The menu has excellent variety and has some items that other popular restaurants do not have. The atmosphere is very relaxed and uses minimal lighting giving you a very private feeling dining experience. The wait staff is efficient and hospitable. The food service is fast and delicious.

The only drawback really is dining seating is somewhat limited so on a busy night you might have to wait a while.
But, it's worth the wait.
