We had breakfast here after attending the salute to Veterans Bowl.
We were the first customers, and the staff was very attentive and fast with our order.
The food was well made and even had menudo available early.
The restaurant was clean and well maintained.
We would recommend this place if you want an authentic Mexican meal.

It's as good as you're gonna get with an authentic Mexican meal! Service is pretty quick. They charge you out, and that's it. I've never dined in, so I can't speak on the dining experience, but it's a local joint so you get what you get. The Birria Tacos are great, and it comes with rice that has cilantro in it and a lime. Delicious! They're also open on Sundays, which is a plus for me.

I would like to restate what a lot of customers have stated in the past. The food was absolutely great, but the service was very, very undesirable.

Once we received our food, we never saw our server again AT THE TABLE. We ran out of water and chips. I had to go up to the counter to get a to go box and the check after trying to get the attention of multiple employees who were either talking or staring at their phones.

My wife and I really enjoyed our meal. We are in town visiting and just wanted a nice meal out, the food was fantastic, and the portions were quite generous. I had steak a la Mexicana and my wife had chicken enchiladas. I tried the two sauces on my food and one was legitimately hot, and I enjoy a good hot sauce. This establishment has great service and the food arrived quickly. Please check them out if you get a chance.

Today was my first visit to this restaurant. I thought it was outstanding. The salsa was too spicy for me, so I added it to the rice. They were extremely busy when I arrived around 1:30. I 130% support family operated restaurants. I am glad I searched Google for Mexican restaurants near me and I found this one. Today is Cinco de Mayo 2024. I ordered the enchilada plate and I have an enormous appetite and I am still stuffed full at 5:00. They gave me half of a lime for the water I asked for. It was a pleasant change from lemon. I very much enjoyed my experience today and I highly recommend this restaurant.

Went there with my friends and my order came super late my friends were done eating and than my order showed up. The lady did not even apologize. Started eating and got a sharp pain in my liver than the stomach ache that followed all day. Got immediately some sprites the way back to work and still have the pain. Not going back

Forgot to take a picture before I gobbled up the most authentic tacos I've found in MGM. With a capacity of 40, don't miss them or second guess you're in the right spot... This place screams RACISM. I'm convinced they treat non Mexican customers bad just so they won't return. Well you win. I won't be back. The barrias tasted old, dry and cold even though we ate inside. The other food had a hair in it... looked up and see their health score was 81 and that was all I needed to see. Will never set foot in this dump again.

This place is my FAVORITE taqueria! Located in a little hole in the wall with a Mexican grocery store attached to it. Very traditional, I’ve been coming here for the past 2 years every drill when I’m in Montgomery. My favorite things to get is their orange agua fresca/ (or horchata if they have it) and the quesa birria combo! Comes with three birria tacos that are a great size and perfectly crispy on the outside and cheesy/meaty of the inside, a side of rice, and the best consumé! All for $11.99 and I love putting the onions/cilantro and lime that it comes with in the consumé, and adding their salsa roja that’s super spicy as well.

Top tier food! Their street tacos are also my fave considering how cheap they are! Under $3 and they campechano which is hard to find sometimes. Very traditional and authentic in flavor and experience. (You know the food is going to be good when the staff doesn’t speak much English haha

The restaurant was your typical Mexican food dives in Alabama. Inside, there were some Sombrero hats hanging on the walls. The interior layout looked like it had seen better days pretty much. The waitress took my order as soon as I walked in, so good customer service. My chicken tacos were good. The sauces took them to the next level in flavor. 8 out of ten

This was a pretty good spot and not just for Alabama. I had the tacos: Carne asada, al pastor y lengua....and let me tell you the lengua (beef tongue) was on point. Although I do wish they had more salsa selections, the michelada, chips, and salsa were good. Must try if you want Mexican food while in Montgomery.

This place was recommended by one of our contractors. First of all, don't be turned off by the exterior. Upon walking in I knew it was going to be good. Authentic Mexican restaurant decor. Music and all. They have a good variety of different Mexican cervezas. They have a large menu. If you don't speak or read Spanish, pull out your Google translator because it is not in English. Most of it is self explanatory by the pictures. Chips and salsa were good. I ordered the molcajete and he ordered 4 tacos: al pastor, pollo, asada y camarone. All 4 came with the double corn tortillas, onions, cilantro, lime, radish and cucumber. The way it should be. My molcajete was filled with shrimp, pork, chicken, beef and shrimp. It also has a roasted pepper, chorizo, Mexican green onions, avocado and cactus. It also came with bean and rice and warm corn tortillas. I have to say, their tortillas are really good. I wouldn't be surprised if they made them fresh on site. Our food came out hot!! Our server was friendly. It's a good thing I speak enough Spanish to communicate. We are definitely coming back!!!

This place has never disappointed me. They are always friendly, attentive and happy to serve. The food tastes excellent and authentic. Growing up in AZ I got used to Mexican food done the right way. The bites of bring back a child like nostalgia. You know when all you had to worry about was if you had air in your bike tire and what friends house everyone was at. I highly recommend this place. It is small and cozy.

Great taste, great selection, great prices. Best street tacos I've had in Alabama.
Lengua was highly recommended and did not let me down. The Chorizo was just as good as it comes, barbacoa and Chicharrones were good, Al Pastor was great, and the carnitas was super tasty.

I've found an inverse relationship between pricing and quality in the Montgomery area. The higher price, the more bland they are. These tacos are the cheapest but all of them are great! Tortillas are heated and grilled just enough. Salsas we're good, cilantro and onions were a bit lighter than I like, but that's easy to remedy.

If you only try one taco place here, try this one.

This placed has ruined me for chain Mexican restaurants. The food is outrageously good, made with love by someone's grandmother in the kitchen. It's all fresh, you can hear the pots and pans banging. What you can't hear in the kitchen is the ding of a microwave. Authentic, and authentic atmosphere.

Very authentic mexican food! Very friendly people. English speaking. Be sure to check these guys out, they have a food truck that participates all around Montgomery which is delicious. They have a red sauce and a green sauce that are just awesome. the red sauce is pretty warm in the green sauce has a pretty spicy taste. They serve salsa and chips, which is usually unusual for an authentic Mexican restaurant.

Make sure you check the prices on the menu and as they are ringing you up. I've been in there a couple times for a simple taco and chips and queso but today I decided to try their entrees. Ordered a kids cheese quesadilla, steak quesadilla and two queso and chips that ended up costing me $29.66. The menu showed the kids cheese quesadilla for 2.99 and entree quesadilla for 11.99 for shrimp, 7.99 and 5.99 for cheese. However, I was charged 9.99 for the steak quesadilla which isn't that bad and 7.99 for the kids cheese quesadilla. The queso were 3.99 each. And then charges 3.66 for taxes on the already overcharged 26.00 total. When I asked about the difference they said the 2.99 Is for kids which I had my daughter with me and it was for my 3yr old at home. After feeling scammed out of an extra good $9 we won't be back.
