Frida’s Mexican Grill

After reading several recent negative reviews, I was leery of the service, wait time, and even quality of food. Our visit was at 6:45 on a Thursday. There was no wait time, but several families left as we walked in. Most tables were taken and several larger groups were enjoying birthday dinners. (The birthday girls all enjoyed serenades from the staff.🥳) Our waiter promptly took our drink orders and brought them to us. We ordered items from the Mesquite Grill. The bean soup came out quickly and was very flavorful. Our two meals were grilled tilapia and grilled shrimp, both with cilantro lime rice. The shrimp were big and cooked great. The tilapia was a little tougher on the thin edges but still very good. We’ll be back for sure!

Prices had been raised from the menu we found on Google, so I’m posting pics of their updated menu. Hope you have an enjoyable lunch or dinner at Frida’s.

I understand grace … but for large parties this is not the place.
Long story short because even tho I waited 3 hours and received my food as I was walking out … I specifically said no seafood due to allergy. And even asked the waiter 2 times was it steak in my chimichanga. He assured me it was. Anyway it was shrimp. So yea…. I’ll never go here again and definitely won’t recommend it. Especially if you have a food allergy.

Good reliable Mexican food! The lunch specials are great deals. I got the Frida lunch nachos and it was very filling and tasted amazing.

Polo G was awesome, clean establishment with friendly staff large selection of food items on their menu easy access and lots of parking.
We order a guacamole and Tacos Mexican Tacos and both were outstanding and nice portion for the price!
Rice was a little bland (for my taste)could use more seasoning but cooked to perfection!!
A must come back to it and enjoy again!

This was just ok for me, nothing exceptional. Service lackluster. Requested extra napkins received two. Large portions for meal yet just didn't seem exceptional quality wise. I was not even found of the salsa and cheese. The chips seemed to be on the edge of being stale.

Not one to leave reviews, but my parents picked up two Togo plates of rice 2 bags of chips and a salsa and was charged $46! I tried to cancel but they showed up to the table with it, and my mother didn't have a heart to tell them no, so she just paid. $46 dollars? I feel as if they took advantage of my mother as other places we called after were just under half of what they charged. Margaritas are great, food is okay, but this is not okay. Thanks for taking advantage of your customers who frequent the place!

Sehr gutes Mexikanisches Essen, waren zufällig hier. Aber definitiv satt und zu einem sehr guten Preis.
Der Service war erste klasse und das Essen war auch sehr lecker und Mega heiß.

Came here to eat this past Saturday and woo it was an absolute disaster. My husband and I came to get us a nice margarita and some dinner. The margarita was ABSOLUTE trash it tasted like toilet water. The food was ok it came out luke warm like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. And when we were leaving there was a literal cockroach by the door as we were trying to exit. Definitely DO NOT recommend coming here for a nice and peaceful dinner literally just go to jalapeños that’s right around the corner.

I have been holding this review in for awhile.
Here it goes.
The experience that Myself and my family had here was absolutely, hands down, the bottom line worst service that I have ever had at a restaurant in my entire existence.
When we walked in there was nobody to greet us (it was busy) after 15 minutes of waiting we were shown to a table and our orders were taken. This is where it went downhill because that is the last time our waiter ever came to our table. After 35 minutes of waiting our food was brought over by kitchen staff (No issue with that) however our food was luke warm at best but tasted okay. The issue was the staff, our waiter never returned to our table, we waited and waited and then noticed he was at other tables receiving cash tips. I had to flag down a passing kitchen staff member just to ask if we could get our bill and to go boxes. When I went to pay the pay screen asked me to leave a tip, I informed the hostess that our waiter never came back to our table and that I don't agree with these tip percentages because we had received horrible service. The response was very rude. I then asked if the customers who were handing the waiter cash tips had to pay another tip at the counter as they paid for the meal. The question was dismissed and I received a rude response. I will never eat here again.

Frida's is one of my favorite places to eat in Northport. I have lunch several times a week. Can recommend this establishment wholeheartedly.

This use to be my spot, my home away from home. There is no telling at the thousands of dollars I have spent here since the opening day, many times multiple times a week. This visit was different as I waited 25mins and still no one took my order. I walked up front 25 mins later and advised them how long I had been waiting, I got laughed at. Three workers thought it was funny that I had been waiting 25 mins to spend my money with them.

What is funny to me is all the money I wasted over the years, just imagine had I kept being loyal to these Jokers. Now that is funny.

Their shredded beef chimichangas are excellent. Served with a side of queso. If you’re into extremely hot, ask for side of their homemade orange sauce. Delicious used sparingly.

Ground beef Burrito supreme & veggies in Italian dressing, side order of cheese dip which I spread some on the burrito, cooked to perfection. Staff is very nice & quick service.

Some of the best food in the Northport/Tuscaloosa area. The waiters and waitresses are very attentive and hard workers. Every time friends come into town, I have to take them here - it's wonderful.

So far our favorite place, we have been here several times. The food is great, fairly priced, and fast, large menu to choose from. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. The atmosphere, awesome, Mexican and American music, the decor is great not cheesy.

First shout out to our server jack o. He was amazing and very knowledgeable. Second this is one of the best mexican restaurants in town hands down. My only suggestion would be to have a bottle of tapatio on hand.

Fridas has been my and my family's favorite restaurant for at least a decade. I judge a Mexican restaurant by their salsa, and they have the BEST in town, so fresh and full of cilantro. I usually order the tacos Mexicana with steak, but I've tried just about everything on the menu and I have never been disappointed. service is fast and super friendly.

I have went to this place hundreds of times and honestly never really had a problem the service is always not the best but last night was beyond horrible me and my sisters went to eat and talk and have fun. First our server was horrible he had barely any communication besides what do you want and is it all together. My sisters ordered a beer pitcher they received it and realized it was not the kind of beer they ordered but they just wanted to let it slide so my other sister ordered a separate single beer that she liked because she didn’t favor the pitcher and the server comes back with it and very rudely says if i see you passing this i’m taking it away. We were shocked and let me say we are all of age to drink also it was insane so then our meal was already ruined but as we continued to sit there they 3 servers sat right behind us and started doing silverware and they just stared at us it was horrible he just stared directly at me I felt so uncomfortable and we left we weren’t even there for an hour. I’m so upset our meal was completely ruined and safe to say it will be a very long time before I ever go back here.

Food was tasty and the hot sauce was flaming! Took a date there, and was enjoying conversation, but we did feel that the wait staff was trying to rush us out, as they were closing st 9pm. They even presented the check about 10 minutes after the entree was served. The staff was very polite and quite attentive and the food was excellent as always. If it was crowded and people were waiting, I would understand the rush to open the table, but this was a Sunday evening and it was not at all busy. I'll be back, but next time earliernin the evening.
