Was in the area on a Friday in summer and wanted to have breakfast in a local place, i.e., not a chain restaurant. Service was great, and the food was delicious. Had the veggie omelette with a side of ham, avocado, and wheat toast and coffee. Everything was very good. Was hoping to practice my Spanish, but no Spanish-speakers were present.

Hidden gem in the small town of Northport, AL. Just across the Black Warrior River north of Tuscaloosa. If you are in town and searching for a good breakfast, it’s worth the few extra minutes of drive time. The breakfast menu is extensive, and the food fresh and delicious. The lunch/dinner menu will not disappoint either! Living in Northport, it’s one of our go-to spots.

This was the first place we went to when we were visiting my in-laws. this was a great spot. If I remember right the Mexican restaurant and a gift store next door are actually run to generate revenue for Missions in Africa Asia and India. One of the pictures is a little hard to read but it's the story of this pastor. He was from Mexico he lost his mom his dad he had nothing and he made it to the US. He was not a Christian at the time and at one point in Alabama and he was contemplating suicide. He had heard about God but never really thought he was real and he decided before he committed suicide why not give it a shot so he prayed to God and he heard an answer. Wow.
Anyway the food was good. It's authentic Mexican because it's made by someone who used to live in Mexico. I'd go back when we visit. And my wife wants to visit the gift shop again. But it's for a good cause...

Pastor’s is a great family-friendly restaurant with excellent food a good service! My wife and I love this place because it’s almost like going home for dinner. There’s no liquor license at Pastor’s so the people who crowd in aren’t there for cheap margaritas or $5 pitchers; they’re there for the food. They are definitely worth a try!

This restaurant is a true authentic Hispanic restaurant that offers amazing food and great service!
Abides by code regulations and handicap accessible. Friendly family environment for young children, adults and seniors. The food is amazing and the pizzas are made just like the dishes such as alambre pizza, BBQ pizza, and Supreme pizza.
Highly recommend it to others!

We eat here for breakfast and lunch when we're not having any beer with our meals.
We are always seated promptly, and the service is always with a smile. The owner routinely checks on the customers to see if the food was to their liking. Very few places around here do that.
For breakfast, the breakfast tacos are great with the chorizo and salsa, and the coffee is smooth. This IS our favorite place for breakfast, period!
For lunch, the pastors dip can't beat with the chips. This IS the best house made dip around. Order the steak torta fully loaded and add their house made green sauce that's creamy and has a good bite to it.
The fish tacos are a favorite, too. They have a different sauce for this meal. The sauce has a taste that goes well with the fish, but a little goes a long way. It doesn't have a bite,it's a punch!
Good food, good family atmosphere, and friendly service!

This place has always been great, but going last week was a little underwhelming. Initially hit by the smell of sewage when we walked in, we should have left then. But the other Mexican restaurant nearby was closed, and this restaurant has always been a great experience. Not to mention being a Special Needs Mom, there's something also special about the owner that draws us to this place. The food is usually really tasty but during this visit, some of it was under seasoned. The house hot sauces were great. The salsa was good. The street tacos were good. The chicken tacos were what were under seasoned as well as the rice and beans.
Staff is always courteous and familiar faces there. Hopefully the next visit they will be back to normal with the odors gone and the cooks back on their game with seasonings.

Got one menu for three people at the table the food was bland at best I am from another state and just moved here and obviously people in this part of Alabama have no clue what Mexican food is supposed to taste like but this definitely ain’t it was charged $31 for chicken that came out of a can with no seasoning on a tortilla and 2 enchilada that looked and tasted like dog food I have eaten a several Mexican restaurants in and around here and this was by far the worst I have had sorry for your palates

Jake was my friendly server. He took my order, brought my food then my check. I saw him once, after the hostess came to my table.
The food arrived on hot plates. Garden salad (white meat, unseasonably chicken), rice and beans. I should have stuck with a guacamole salad because that chicken was DRY & BLAND.
I left the tip at the counter with the girl who's tag read "on training". I'm not sure if she understood that was why I left the change.

I had heard alot of good things about this place. The service was very good and staff very nice. The food however was just ok. I found it to be bland, the fajitas, and the salsa was below mild. Felt like I was dipping Chios in a tomato sauce basically. But as mentioned the food was just bland and portions seemed a bit undersized.

Pastors Kitchen is old-reliable. It's always good, fast, and friendly service. I absolutely adore the waitress that normally always waits on us, too! I usually get the same thing from here: the tamale plate, and Lengua street tacos (though I have enjoyed other dishes from here). My only complaint is that the queso is normally VERY runny like milk, so I've stopped ordering it. I would normally give 4 stars because of that, but honestly, everything else has been so good that it's not that big of a deal. I'm not Christian myself, but I even like and respect that the music they play is Christian music. It feels a lot more cozy, and personal here than other places. Along with the good food, that's what keeps my husband and I coming back!

Good little Mexican restaurant on the out skirts of town, you get a ton of food at a very low cost. I had a burrito that was the size of a small baby and didn't crest $10 and it was fantastic. The chips they bring you are hot and the salsa is made in house.

A few weeks ago, we had ordered Pastor’s Kitchen through one of the delivery services. Of course, this particular delivery service only picked up a small portion of our order. After they delivered it, there was no way to contact them. I could only reach the automated service. We called Pastor’s Kitchen to confirm the rest of our order was still there but they were about to close. The OWNER himself delivered it to our house with some extras!! Thank you for ABOVE AND BEYOND customer service and GREAT food! 😊
