Good food for a great price. We have visited this location for over 10 years with no bad experiences. It is worth a try. Their lunch menu is very reasonable.

We went to Durango for lunch today, 1 o’clock on a Sunday, and the food was sooo good. The strawberry daiquiri was great, the steak fajitas were marinated and came with a lime wedge which I thought was a nice addition. We usually go to the place across from Sam’s but their steak is sliced so thin and not flavorful at all, so this was such a pleasant surprise. The chips were warm and not paper thin which we loved. My husband’s plate was clean at the end and he said the pico de gallo on top of his burrito verde was really good, and he usually *hates* tomatoes! So we were both pretty shocked. We only had to wait a few minutes after we were done for the server to come back so we were glad since sometimes that can be super frustrating to wait for when you’re ready to leave. The service was great, everyone was very nice, even the server assistant that offered us more chips when we were low. Plus the music was pleasant and relaxing, not too loud, and it wasn’t freezing cold inside like some places. So overall a great experience and it’s now our go-to spot for Mexican.

Edit- we went again recently around 2:30 on a Saturday and no one else was in there (of course)… but the food was STILL spot on! Consistent, clean, friendly, speedy, delicious! I mean really, what more can you ask for??

First off the restaurant is clean.

The staff very welcoming and friendly!

I went Tuesday for lunch.

I had Pollo Loco special. It wasn't what expected. It was okay. I wouldn't get it again.

However chips were warm yes!!! Salsa was some of the best I've had. A really good fresh salsa.

Plenty of parking not far off the highway.

I would go sgain but definitely would try something different.

I went to Durango last night to enjoy dinner. The staff was excellent, but the food not so great. I ordered the enchilada dinner and not only did the sauce taste weird, but after eating half of my enchiladas I noticed a huge chunk of plastic on top of the enchilada. It was like melted in with the cheese on top. Luckily the waitress didn't include my plate on the bill which I was thankful for, because I was still willing to pay for my food. But even worse issues came up after I got home. All I'm going to say is, it was an unpleasant night.

The most delicious and authentic mexican food than I ever ate in long time!!! The atmosphere is a really mexican experience and the service was 10/10! of course I’ll be back soon!

Decided to try this place out while on a road trip and it was the right choice. Fajitas had great seasoning and service was friendly. Definitely try this place if visiting Auburn/Opelika.

Food was exceptional today.
Another wonderful visit to Durango. Great food and service as always.
Yesterday, 30 November 2023, was fantastic. I did a takeout order and the service was impeccable and fast. Thank you Durango staff. 22 February, 2024, I did another takeout order, and perfection as always. 11 July 2024, lunch again and it was outstanding.
18 September 2024 ,again spectacular!

We live Durango’s! Great atmosphere, always greeted with a smile and seated very quickly. Their waiters are always friendly and quick service. The food is always excellent. We have tried other Mexican restaurants but none compete with Durango.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Customer service is horrible and they discriminate against others not of European descent. All I ordered was a half shrimp quesadilla. A whole party of 15 was put in front of me and served before I was. I will never return to this place ever again.

Finally I got to eat here. Perfect guacamole, and perfect chicken taco and perfect taco salad. (Not too spicy. I have a special-needs stomach.) BTW- this restaurant is *immaculately* clean today.

My family and I have been to this restaurant twice so far and each time was amazing. The service was great and fast. The food was brought out quickly and was fresh, hot, and very filling. The menu is also priced really well for a Mexican restaurant. Not to expensive. Great atmosphere as well.

Always great food! This restaurant is consistent. I have not had either bad food or poor service. I love ordering some cheese dip, a cold mug, and beer. Good snack and conversation, just waiting for the food we ordered.

First time here. Dinner with the fam. Cheese dip to start was good. $7 for the large. My wife ordered the Texas fajitas, but the waiter failed to write the order down correctly and it came with green peppers, which through the taste off for her. She gave them a B- Shrimp was over cooked, but the chicken was great. My son got a chicken dish with Mexican rice. His chicken was good, his rice was very dry. My dish with the skirt steak was great. Except again the waiter failed to write down, no green peppers. (We don’t like green peppers). All in all an average meal. Other than getting the green peppers wrong on the orders, the waiter was solid. Good pace on drinks and checking in on us.

I've dined at this restaurant many times in the past with some old associates. I recently visited here again with my husband and I won't deny it was terrible. I could go on with all that went wrong with my dish, but I will simply say I took a whole box home and threw it right in the trash. I felt for our server, he seemed so unhappy but did all he could for us. All around our visit failed completely because of the food. It was a HUGE let down for me.

Wasn't super happy with the meal overall. The chips and salsa served when you sit down had the most flavor of the entire meal. Taco bowl had no flavor and cold. Chicken quesadilla was hot but the chicken was bland. Doubtful I ever go back.

Very much enjoyed eating dinner at Durango Mexican Grill. The food is fresh, tasty and portions are more than what one would get at other Mexican restaurants at next exits north and south. Durango has been in the restaurant business over 20yrs in this area.
Friendly staff and clean environment. Plenty of parking and just around the corner from Tiger Town and Lowes.
