Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant

I will start off by saying there was a really sweet girl who did her best to make sure the servers stayed on track but during my visit they were extremely short staffed. We waited around 30 mins to order and another 30-45 for our food. Although the food came out hot, it was unfortunately not worth the wait and my mom’s order was incorrect once it arrived. The food lacked flavor and overall, I feel like the wait was just too long especially as it relates to the quality of food we received. It’s unfortunate.

Me, my husband and my adult daughter patronized this restaurant tonight and it was a disaster. There was only one waitress named Theresa taking the orders. There was a young girl greeting the customers at the door and taking them to their seat. There was a man bringing out the food from the kitchen and taking it to the tables. He was also the bartender. It took us 30 minutes for someone to come to the table to ask if someone had taken our drinks. No one had been to the table so she took our drink orders. 15 minutes later someone dropped the drinks off at the table. We waited another 30 minutes before Theresa took our food order. It was another 30 minutes or so before we got our food. My order was not right so I had to wait 15 more minutes. The Texas Margarita my husband ordered was all juice and ice, zero to little liquor. When they brought my order out a second time it still WAS NOT CORRECT! By this time I was starving so I kept what was right and they had to remake what wasn’t right. I had the fajita burrito chicken and it was not good. The chicken, rice or beans had no flavor or seasoning. It was all bland. My daughter’s order was bland as well. My husband had a taco salad and it was okay but not the best he’s had. This was the absolute worse eco have ever had at a Mexican restaurant or any restaurant in general. I will never go back here and I will never recommend this restaurant. They were very understaffed and really just should’ve stopped receiving customers at 7 PM. We paid $62 for a terrible experience with terrible service and terrible food. This was our first time eating here. I had been watching the reviews so I thought it would be a good place to try. NEVER AGAIN!

The Mexican food was amazing. I think the flour tortillas were hand made, my sopes were definitely handmade. Fresh ingredients, generous portions and FLAVOR. My chips were hot, my margarita was delicious and I will be back to try the molé enchiladas.

looking at other reviews poor service seems to be a recurrent theme

Ok..for you all who used to love the old Durango on Columbus Parkway you're in luck. The folks you loved from that location are back and so is the food, atmosphere and service. They even brought back the same cook so drop by and see them at their new location Los Amigos in the USA Factory Outlet location. Great food and great service. Welcome back!

Good and friendly service. Food was great. If you liked the durangos that was on columbus pkwy, it's the same people. We're really happy they have a new place.

The food is delicious! The drinks are perfect! And the service is quick and phenomenal. We will be going back for sure. I also love that they have booths and tables and the prices are reasonable. It's a nice gem tucked away. The highlight for me were the chips and salsa. They were some of the best tasting I've had.

Ordered to go 30 minutes before closing and the service was amazing right when I walked through the door. My food was ready and fresh. Tasted amazing and fresh.

This was some of the best Mexican food I've had. The guacamole appetizer was fresh and delicious. The spicy burrito was huge and very good. Be sure to order the beef flautas!

Food and service were impeccable. The best Mexican restaurant I've tried in the Auburn -Opelika Area. Check it out if you have the chance, you won't be disappointed.

Great for and friendly staff! This is the same management as the original restaurant! Definitely a hidden gem!

There’s Rarely a wait and the food is always out SO FAST! I’ve visited at least 5 times now! They have the best queso in town in my honest opinion. Their salsa is also my favorite, but one downside is each additional bowl and basket are $1 (for both) but I think that’s fair with prices on things to prevent wasted food. It’s worth it in my opinion if your family only ever gets a basket or two.

The staff is one of the friendliest I’ve ever encountered at a restaurant in the area. EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER I’ve encountered has been wonderful! I never go in hoping for a particular server because they’re all wonderful. I’ll be working closer by to them soon so I know I’ll be visiting as much as possible.

(Make sure to try their lunch specials until 3pm, they’re a great deal!)

We will definitely be back! It felt home like, the servers were great and in a timely manner. The food and drinks were so good! Very friendly people here. I recommend coming here for sure.

If you enjoyed the Durangos that used to be on 280 then you will enjoy this restaurant as a good replacement.

If I could give our server (Laura) 6 stars, I would. She was a joy and I hope we have her every time we go to this place. Food was solid (chicken soup- amazing broth, house guacamole salad- delicious). We live close and I'm so happy this place is solid. We will be back.

This is one of the best Mexican food you can get around opelika/auburn!!!!! I love it!!!!! Friendly staff timely service!!!!!! Atmosphere needs work but they are just starting out and it’s nice and clean the music isn’t to loud but it’s loud enough you can understand it! Also they have a built in bar! If you haven’t tried yet you definitely should!!!!!
