My husband and myself love this restaurant. We're from Memphis TN and love eating at Mexican restaurants but this was a new experience for us our food looked so delicious when they brought it to our table 😋 we knew we were in for a new experience. My husband had the shrimp soup and he loved it so much.

While the servers were kind and pleasant, I wish they would take the time to pronounce the Mexican dishes correctly. The food was good, but as a person who is used to authentic, I've had better. However, I wouldn't mind another stop in to try other dishes. The atmosphere was cute and fun. The drinks were pretty good. All in all, I enjoyed my time there and considered it money well spent.

It’s an issue with the Door Dash app. But they care about their customers, so they want them to be happy. I am beyond impressed. The food is amazing, but the service is jaw-dropping. We didn’t end up having to do an employee delivery, but Lacey made sure I was able to order and get what I wanted. Thank you so much!

Our server was Lakyn. She was super sweet and gave us exceptional service! I had the California burrito with a large cactus margarita (huge and tasted so good!) , hubby had Texas Fajitas. All of it was seasoned perfectly. Literally some if the most flavorful Mexican food I’ve had! Portions were so big we had a lot to bring back. We’ll be back!

I was nervous because of TexMex comments. Thankfully, this is NOT TexMex, which is usually overly spicy. This place has great flavor. Chicken flautas were best thing on the menu. Fajita nachos close second.

Main drawback was that it was a bit pricey.

Okay, this may be the only Mexican options in many parts of Baldwin County, but it's not bad! Their version of the local favorite Bushwhacker is the BEST, with ice cream inside! The chips and salsa are also worth the visit! Go now! Get a Bushwhacker or two! You won't regret it! Maybe avoid the steak quesadillas. Lol. Go now!

I Intended to write this review weeks ago. Unfortunately, I have now forgotten our waiter and the managers name.

I have come to the Canal Rd location for many years while on vacation with family. It's always been awesome. Good family atmosphere, reasonable prices , good drinks and food. Admittedly I should have already wrote a good review years ago.

What made me commit to writing was my last visit a couple of weeks back. I ordered my plate no hot sauce. My plate came out and food was awesome. I didn't even notice that hot sauce was on there. It just wasn't too hot and was VERY GOOD. We had a very intelligent gentleman as a waiter. He caught it and insisted they correct the issue. As it was a true non issue for me I saw no need to remake the order. The manager later came around and spoke to all tables and addressed the same concern that had been shared by our waiter.

Lots of typing to say this. The level of service demonstrated to me and my family was exceptional. What makes it stand out even more is this is extremely rare lately. Service at most places has declined. Bravo to our Waiter, the Manager and Owners all for hiring solid staff that are attentive, have an attention to detail and willingness to make things right.

We will be back again...and thank you!!

One of my favorite places to take the family. I live here; and I can't afford the seafood joints, Cactus Cantina has found their own groove, it's affordable, the service is always great; and delicious. Get some chorizo cheese dip; and extra salsa, the best around.

Anna is by far the most friendly & Professional bartender that I have ran across in a long time. She was very helpful in educating me on my selection and the Steak Tacos were point on. Cannot say enough about Cactus Cantina. Service was phenomenal. Our Party of 12 was sat in 10 mins, ordered, served and eating in 20 more. The staff was friendly, accurate and FAST.

Got charged an extra $20 on our check for a tip on a $42 bill after we left a cash tip. Contacted the manager and was told it would be resolved and we are still waiting. Everyone that works there was above and beyond on their superb performance making sure we felt at home while on a vacation far away. 10/10 would eat again, and again, and again, and again. I will say though, that the booths are about a quarter of a mile from the table, other than that. The little dude from Texas was amazing and we tipped how we felt like. A nice, crisp, delicious, $20 bill. This is a must stop shop for anyone on vacation!!☺️

We went out to dinner last night with my family. It’s my dad’s go to for margaritas and he really enjoys the happy hour margaritas :) we got there later so the mediums were $13 which isn’t terrible but not quite as strong as I was expecting for the price. Flavor on the margs were good. Food was ok, nothing to write home about. We do love the thin chips and salsa and asked for an extra bowl to split the large queso and the server that brought out the cheese dip advised the bowls we’re getting washed but he would look for some. Totally fine with us. Our regular waitress got the extra bowl but the server actually came back out to check that the extra bowl was brought out. It was very nice he went the extra mile to make sure we got the little bowl and it was appreciated.

We did a lot of research on where to eat while on spring break here. We’ve had some major disappointments aka tourist traps. This was NOT one of them! This place is fantastic!!! From the exceptional service (in a completely packed testaurant) to the delicious tacos, Guac, queso and salsas, this place is a total winner! It’s off the ocean path tucked at the end of a strip mall. It will 100% be on our list next time we are back.

I stopped in here wanting to celebrate finishing a difficult job after a long day. The food was good as usual, but we found the atmosphere and decor inside a little bare. I think I only noticed these things because of how long we waited for our server. And our drinks. There was grunge-rock playing throughout the restaurant. Not Mexican grunge, just grunge. Fairly loud. After a while, we actually considered leaving. But our server finally came apologizing convincingly. It appeared the staff were struggling to keep up. Maybe someone called out sick. I usually sit outside for lunch, so perhaps they just had a bad night. But after some beer and satisfying meal, we were good.

My family loves Cactus Cantina! It's the closest thing to Tex-Mex you can find in this area. Coming from Dallas, we have a taste for good quality, delicious Mexican food. This place doesn't disappoint. Their vegetarian options are absolutely the best I've had in Alabama! My husband loves their fajitas and always orders a side of pico, which is made in-house. The servers are always friendly, and we appreciate having this place as our preferred go-to Mexican restaurant. Since we are regulars, next time I'll get pictures.

My friend and i dined in, from the moment we arrived until we left we were treated so quick and with kindness! Our server. I had the Shrimp "Boom Boom" tacos and excuse me for getting a bite or two in before I remember to take a picture but it looked sooo good when it was set in front of me that I forgot to snap a pic first. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the toppings made the sauce go boom boom y'all! This along with the cheese dip as an appetizer and you can't go wrong. A must try if you like shrimp tacos!

This restaurant is an interesting place to go and eat. Seems as it was designed with the tourist in mind but doesn't quite fit the norm of Orange Beach because of how they treat their customers. Upon arrival to an empty restaurant we were greeted and then sat in the very back of the restaurant we are guessing because we had a baby with us. The place wasn't clean, the service was subpar and honestly we were treated as if they wanted us to leave. The food wasn't terrible however, what you would normally expect from an establishment of this type. My recommendation? Seek an opportunity for a meal elsewhere because they are unappreciative of your business and if you have children with you the back of the restaurant next to the employee break table will be your home. Just your basic Tex-Mex chain restaurant. My Ranchero Burrito was good, but small. So we’re the sides. The Cactus cheese grits are really good. Good place if you want a quick Mexican fix on the island.

2nd time eating there. My dinner this time was seafood burrito. One half was 4 perfectly cooked, moist, shrimp, the other half was white delicate fiish chunks. Finely minced cilantro, peppers, onions, and tomatoes with sprinked mild seasoning. No other filing ingredients like rice or beans or lettuce. Serving size was a bit light for a 16 dollar burrito. I chose my 2 sides, one was ok, canned black beans and the other was 2 tablespoons of soupy Grits with taco seasoning, so thin were these Grits you could not use a fork. At least there were free chips and salsa. Server was asked 3 times for Napkins, 15 minutes later I am tasked to the the bar, where I told the bar tender we have 5 guest all needing Napkins. The server caught me and asked if everything was alright, I said, sir, 3 times we asked for these Napkins from you, he responded cool, and walked away. 20 year old male without a clue how to predict the patrons needs. I know this because direct request offered no better response.

Doordashed nachos, paid for extra cheese, said no sour cream, literally didn’t have a drop of cheese, and had sour cream. Seriously, not the first dribble of cheese!! So freaking dry!! And there was not anything they could do about it they said!!!

We were very happy and satisfied with the freshness and flavor of everything — margaritas, cheese dip, and entrees. The beans and rice are delicious. After days of horrible dinners at restaurants in orange beach, we went to cactus cantina on canal road. It was the best meal we had in 5 days in orange beach. I prefer canal road location because it’s far less busy than the one on perdido. Good food, good service.

We came here during our first night at Orange Beach. It was the perfect opening day dinner. The food was great and came out super quick, margaritas were top notch, and our waitress was great. I forget her name but her service didn’t seem like an outlier. The whole place was awesome. I will be going there again when I return. (P.S. there are two locations so I can only speak to the one on Canal Rd.)

Horrible, disgusting and cold the food was simply disgusting. The service one of the hostesses pulled the menu away for me while I was reading it to place a to go order and this is the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had in my entire life. I guess the hostess wanted me to leave so they served me garbage but I am unsure why the food was so bad I gave them a 25% tip on my way out and was so disappointed in the pick up I received from this restaurant do not waste your money

This place is amazing! Their salsa has some deep heat and the chips are light and crispy. I had the Gulf Fish Tacos, grilled and they were probably the best thing I've ever tasted. The mix of flavors was fantastic! 10/10 I highly recommend as a must eat place in Orange Beach.

I was in town with my family on a Saturday night. The two restaurants we attempted to eat at prior to Cactus Cantina each had a 45 minute. When I was calling around, this place did not have a wait. Now I see why!

I ate with my family of 5. My girls are 11, 9, and 6. The waiter began to work his upselling techniques, which I'm ok with since he's just doing his job. One example of this was "would you like to start out with a guacamole or queso."

The problem began when the waiter asked if we were ready for the bill. When I said yes, he had us make the payment right in front of him, at the table, and he didn't present the check to us before payment! Then he had the nerve to ask if we wanted the check. Of course I did!

Then I noticed I was charged for my daughters drinks when they were included with the kids meal! I brought this up to the waiter as I was leaving and he made it sound like he was doing me a favor by removing the charge. A week later I go over my account and no refund exists!

I absolutely love Cactus Cantina. But a little FYI. If you buy one of these cups at the Beach Front road location it IS NOT accepted at the other locations. The deal is you pay 10 bucks for a margarita and the refill is 5 bucks. It’s a heck of a deal but you have to go to the beach front road location to get it. Either way. I ain’t mad about it. Still love Cactus Cantina.

BIG fan of cactus cantina!! Even when they’re really busy the food is always consistent & service amazing. I love Queso & have cravings for cactus cantinas cheese dip all the time (especially living in south Florida now) this restaurant is definitely a go to on my trips back to Alabama. I love The street tacos as an entree but everything is good to try at least once.

Our server was Lakyn. She was super sweet and gave us exceptional service! I had the California burrito with a large cactus margarita (huge and tasted so good!) , hubby had Texas Fajitas. All of it was seasoned perfectly. Literally some if the most flavorful Mexican food I’ve had! Portions were so big we had a lot to bring back. We’ll be back!

I had the California burrito and a Chi Chi. The food was horrible. It was meat and tortilla. I had a side of beans and rice, thank God otherwise I would have starved. It was completely soggy. Very disappointed won't go back.

Decent food. Was expecting Mexican and it's more of an American-Mexican fusion menu (even pancakes for breakfast). Cactus grits were great. Attentive wait staff, which is opposite of our experience at their Canal Rd location, though Canal Rd has a better vibe. EDIT: Visited Canal Rd location today and had great service and excellent food. Saw at least one staff member constantly scanning the room for needs. Literally as I ate the last bite of salsa, they sat a fresh bowl in front of me. Highly recommend... Will be back!

Ordered 2 large sides of rice and 2 large sides of beans. One plate of rice was correct, while the other plate of rice and both plates of beans were LESS THAN what would have been served as a regular side dish. We only had enough to give each person one tablespoon scoop or both beans and rice. Very disappointing

The large rice and beans is a really small portion. It didn’t feed near the amount of people we had to feed.

Worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. I wouldn’t even give one star, food didn’t come as I ordered. Waitress asked for tip, terrible restaurant.

As a big fan of Mexican cuisine, I am always surprised when a restaurant gets the flavors right. This restaurant blew me away from the salsa to the main course! I purchased the Boom-Boom Shrimp Tacos, and the cantina sampler. Both were absolutely delicious. Their wait staff was excellent all the way around. Very quick and courteous service. Got our party of 10 in and eating in no time. Couple that with an attractive drink menu this place check marks all the boxes. Definitely worth coming back again and again. Thanks Cactus Cantina for the excellent meal, we will be back!
