I’ve eaten food from here several times now, both dine in and take out. Have tried their enchiladas, quesadillas, chimichangas, and burritos. All are tasty and even better with their house hot sauce. This is a regular place to dine for several people from my church, so that tells you something.

This is a nice little hole in the wall restaurant. The food is always fresh/good, especially their fajitas. The price is what wins this place over. They great food for a good price. We come every month. The margaritas here are fantastic 🍹

I normally am not a fan of Mexican food, but this was my exception! Everything about this place was fantastic. I would like the salsa a little more spicy and possibly a bit chunkier, but that really is just personal preference and a bit of nit picking.
The tables and chair's are impeccably painted and carved. The whole restaurant is perfectly decorated. Great place for a date, with mood lighting and music and all.

I've gone here since 2007. It's not at all what it used to be. There is no way Jaime is looking at this food and approving it. It's reheated bullshi* the first pictures are the uncooked food I was served. The last one was after I cooked it myself. Absolutely atrocious for the price.

We came here for lunch. We were seated immediately and give chips and salsa. Our drinks came very quickly except for my friend’s water. She had to ask for water because she was choking on some chips. The servers were standing around talking. The food was pretty good. The fish tacos needed more seasoning and fish.

El Olmeca in Hampton Cove is one of my Favorite Mexican Restaurants around Huntsville. They are consistently good and give you lots of food for the price. Grilled Chicken Nachos are my go to at any Mexican Restaurant and here they nailed the right ratio of meat and peppers to chips and cheese. I get takeout here a lot more than I like to admit and it is always delicious. My only issue is with the restaurant's cleanliness.

When I dined in with my family recently, the table was extremely sticky and the highchair was like it had never been cleaned. There was black residue coming off the chair when I wiped it with a napkin and by the time we left, my child had this same disgusting substance on their legs. It really put me off.

I recommend eating here at least for takeout, but not sure if I'll be going back in.

I found a hair in my Queso. Also the food and adult beverage was the worst I have had, anywhere. It has an 85 health rating. If I had seen this first we would have skipped the awful experience

Horrible quality of food for the price. Ordered the expensive ribeye fajitas for 2 and it was the cheapest meat possible. For what I paid I could have went to a very nice steak house and gotten a much better piece of meat.

You can't beat them . I'm redoing though my post. We called in for dinner tonight. My husband comes home, there is a huge plastic piece in the cheese dip and it was very chunky. This is not at all how it usually is .I did call though and they did offer to remake or give credit. We love their food but now a days, you have to be careful. That plastic piece look like something though I would watch out for. Not trying the dip. I'm scared. Hopefully they will look into it.

We sat to order at 2:30 pm today and our server was very rude. We were waiting patently to order for 40 minutes and asked to be waited on twice. He finally came back refilled our water then said he was going on break and couldn't take our order someone else would come eventually. No one did so we left. Shameful service.

Highly recommend getting margaritas if you go there. We got strawberry margaritas both times we went and were not disappointed with the drinks. They were easily the stars of the show. The salsa was also very good.

I visited on a Monday evening. The place was packed.
Fajitas were bland. I had to add table salt (which I hate).
Waitress was slow on refills. We actually had to stop her and ask for more.
We requested more dip, which we never received.
And not that it really matters but just in case my people are stopping by..... I was literally the only African American in the entire building🫣😁. It was like something you see in a movie😂
But this is a predominantly Caucasian area.
And in case you're wondering, I am still going to revisit even though Las Trojas is better by far🙂

It seems like every birthday something goes wrong. There was the year I got the wrong cake , the year the store forgot to make my cake, the year my family forgot my birthday, and I've only had one birthday party in my 45 years! So I should have expected today on my birthday that something would go wrong. My dad decided to get me lunch from el omeca on his way from work. I've always liked thier food. But of course today it was horrible! He ordered the pork chops. The description on the menu said grilled to perfection! They were more like microwaved into leather. I had to throw them away. So here has been another birthday where I've cried . I have been wishing for years for alot of things but this year I wished that next year my birthday wouldn't suck! So in the end NEVER get the pork chops from el omeca!

I've been going here a couple of years, and it is my go-to place for some good Mexican food. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The prices are very good and it is easy to eat there for 8-12 dollars. It is clean and well maintained.

I've given this place a chance quite a few times, hoping to figure out exactly what it is that packs the parking lot every weekend and all I can assume is that its patrons are afraid of flavor and spice. This is by far some of the blandest, most mediocre Mexican food I have ever had served in one of the dirtiest, outdated settings possible. The servers were very friendly, but the food just wasn't there

The food was not only good but it came out quick and all our plates were full, no one was able to finish their meal so we all had to ask for a togo box.. Plus the hospitalty was on point! I will keep going back

This is our favorite restaurant in Madison County and we've been going there for more than ten years! The food is excellent for very reasonable price. It's authentic Mexican, not "Americanized" or Tex-Mex. The drinks are great too. The staff is wonderful, warm, friendly, very willing to explain items, fast, and willing to teach us the occasional phrase. Most have been there many years so it appears to be a good, happy place to work. The atmosphere is old-style Mexican restaurant with painted furniture and art on the walls but not tacky OR overcome with glitz. We recommend El Olmeca to anyone who wants good food in a nice atmosphere.

Uninspiring. Same menu items and taste and quality as 4300 other Tex-Mex restaurants in the US. Nothing makes it stand out. The chicken in the fajitas were unseasoned. Just plain chicken. One sad note. You are served only about a quarter of a cup of refried beans. Maybe two spoons full? Maybe it should be renamed refried bean.

The food was scrupulous with large portions. The atmosphere was fun and festive. However, the waiter want to take our food order right when we sat down. It was our first time there. We told him we needed a minute to look at the menu. After being our drinks he never came back. Almost 20 minutes later another waiter noticed our menus sitting on the edge of the table and asked us if we were ready to order...ughhh after that all went well!

An awesome find. My wife and I both had variants of the fajitas, from the wide and varied menu (I don't want to say overwhelming range because that might be construed as negative and there is nothing negative to say about this restaurant).

Neither of us could finish our portions, so much meat it was crazy good.

Great flavors, courtesy chips and salsa, cannot comment on the drinks as we only had iced tea/water.

Service was great, although we went kinda late on. Sunday so they weren't bursting at the seams.

I certainly recommend this place if you enjoy Mexican food and are hungry!!!

Great local Mexican restaurant! Huge menu of diverse Mexican food from all over Mexico. Very clean, beautifully decorated interior and uniquely painted tables. Service was very fast and friendly. Frequent refills. Free chips, salsa and bean dip. Huge portions with lots of leftovers. There is a reason why you often see so many vehicles in the parking lot. Definitely my family's favorite Mexican establishment in the area.

We do enjoy the restaurant but the menu is changing and portions are getting smaller. We will never eat there again on a Thursday evening. Restaurant was packed and we were seating in the back area next to the bar. Not what we consider the best seats in the house. Service was also a bit slow and the refried beans were more like bean soup.
