The food was good, my order was correct. The waitress wasn't as attentive as I would have liked. I ran out of my drink before she came back. She only checked on me one time. Also wasn't too crowded when I went.

My husband & l was there today for lunch/ dinner . The food was amazing, the manager was super kind. She made it worthwhile our time to come in . That's the way you're supposed to feel when you're in a restaurant. So l say keep up the great job you're doing. All of you.

I have been eating here for over 40 years. The last year the food is getting worst each time. Went in yesterday and got 4 plates. We could not eat it. Disgusting Called the next day and spoke to a woman who said she was a manager. She said there is nothing I can do because u didn't call in yesterday. Was very rude to me and said her cook didn't do anything different. Yes he did he threw together 52.00 worth of crap. So disappointed we have always gave this place our business but not any more.

I went in today and had the beef nachos to go. I hadn't been in a while but they were delicious!!! Ben is always very nice. If you haven't been lately you must go. The food couldn't have gotten any better. It was the best!!!!

We stopped at El Palacio on a road trip home from Northern Alabama to Miami Florida. Being from Miami we were nervous trusting a Mexican restaurant. But, we really enjoyed the food and the southern hospitality. The chips were fresh greasy and without salt. The salsa was just the right amount of spicy (you got a little bite with each bite). My daughter had the chimichanga which wasn't deep fried, but the beans and Spanish rice were tasty with a strong cumin flavor. The taco salad with its deep fried shell, shredded iceberg lettuce, grilled chicken with a smokey flavor, and a mild guacamole was a southern twist on this mexican-american dish. The mattress was attentive and quick getting us back on the road without waiting.

The food is really just okay. I thought it was odd to have ranch brought out to me for a taco salad. It was pretty bland. There's no sour cream or guacamole or anything else added to the salad. The Pollo Loco had really big strips of chicken instead of being cut up, which is also weird to me. The service was great, though. Good prices for the servings.

We live a little outside of Huntsville Al and we’re so sad when the El Palacio in Huntsville closed a few years ago. We visited here on our way back from the beach and it did not disappoint!! The wonderful, delicious food I remember. Plus everyone there was super nice and service was great. Can’t wait to visit again!!

Very Americanized Mexican Food. It isn't terrible, but it definitely is not authentic and my kids could tell immediately and my oldest didn't even want to eat what he ordered. I had the chimichanga it was alright. The steak that it was prepared with was seasoned really well which made the dish.

They forgot to put in my husband's order so he ended up having to wait longer than the rest of us. The portions are way smaller than you would get at any real Mexican restaurant so it wasn't worth it to us. The queso dip tasted like they melted Velveeta cheese and brought it out. Never in my life. The salsa was okay, but it comes out of a jar that they advertise for purchase so not fresh at all.

In conclusion, if you do not like authentic Mexican food, but want to be fancier than Taco Bell this would be a good choice for you. If you are into good authentic Mexican Food, this isn't the place for you and you will be severely disappointed.

Our family goes to Elpalico’s almost every Friday night. 8 of us. For the last 20 years. Since Ben and his crew took over management a few years ago Elpalico’s has become our favorite spot to eat. Great servers and friendly staff. We have our favorite server, Heather. If you’re in the market for a tasty meal, this is your spot. And ya’ll- the cheese dip and salsa 😍 there’s no judgement at a Mexican restaurant table.

We go to this restaurant atleast 2 times a month and we have always felt very welcome and food is always good.
Today was a different story all together, the waitress( the receipt says Tiffany M.) Came to our table and took our drink order. When she came back she seemed upset because I wasn't ready to order(I recently had neck surgery so I had to figure out what I would be able to swallow easily). When we ordered my husband asked for a single chalupa to go with his Toco salad and she acted like it would be an inconvenience to do that.
While we were eating she brought refills to the tables around us but none to us and then she asked can I bring you to go cups for when you are ready to go,we said yes. This was the first part that made us feel like we were being rushed out. Then she brought us the to go cups, we were still eating. My husband had finished his Toco salad so she took his plate. I had a little bit of my lunch on my plate and she was going to take my plate without asking if I was done. So I took my food and put it on a napkin and gave her the plate. 2nd feeling of being rushed. She left the ticket on the table she said when you are ready I'll take payment. We'll she came back about 3 minutes later to cash us out, took my card and then stopped at another table while holding my card. When she came back she tried to give the ticket to my husband when I tried to take it as it was my card she acted like she didn't want to give it to me.
As I said earlier we love coming there and the food is always good and we usually feel welcome but today we didn't, as she stopped and talked to everyone around us but only interacted with us breifly.
Our ticket for the 2 of us was 36.00

We live a little outside of Huntsville Al and we’re so sad when the El Palacio in Huntsville closed a few years ago. We visited here on our way back from the beach and it did not disappoint!! The wonderful, delicious food I remember. Plus everyone there was super nice and service was great. Can’t wait to visit again!!

My husband and I were visiting from Wisconsin and stopped at the el Palacio for dinner. To start off, the salsa was amazing!!! Followed by good service and good food. We will definitely eat here again next time we are in the area!

This has to be the worst mexican restaurant I have ever been to. The cheese dip tasted like a mixture of white gravy and wall paste. The salsa is garbage! The menue was very limited. I was going to order the taco salad until they asked what salad dressing I wanted! Instead, I got the beef enchiladas, and I gaged them down. The beans were okay, but the rice was a package spanish rice mix you get at any store. Was not a traditional mexican/spanish rice. It was horrible! The service is very pushy. I got more of a mexican restaurant atmosphere at Taco Bell than this place.

I would not take my dog to this place! Everything with and about this mexican restaurant sucks!

If you are traveling through or live in Ozark, AL, and are thinking of eating here. Don't put yourself through the misery!

I absolutely love El Palacio! Ben the owner is wonderful. He goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Our little server , Christie was phenomenal. I have never had a server so attentive and sweet . My sister in law from Mississippi was with me. She said it was the best Mexican food she has EVERY had and she has been all over the world ! Thank you Ben and Christie for a great experience and great food ! We will be back !

Ordered from here via Door Dash. 65 dollars and received what amounts to a bad joke. Ordered and was charged for a large white queso dip, got about 2 tablespoons of dip for that 9 bucks and change.
Soggy tortilla for the quesadilla that didn't come with the lettuce and sour cream it was supposed to.
They put 4 small shreds of cheese on 2 tacos and they didn't send the sides with the chimichanga or add the cheeses.
We got about 20 bucks worth of food slapped into containers with 0 care. This is not the first time they have screwed us over with their lack of care for the food they make.
Save your money if you want delivery, because these people will rip you off.

One of my new favorite places. My husband and I have been here 4 years now and have avoided the place like a plague. When we hear Mexican restaurant, we assume all Mexican food loaded with beans or that mash that we don't like. We'll we were wrong to think such a thing. We were forced in there last Saturday around 3pm because the place we planned to go shut down. It was very clean upon entering, had a cute little Mexican theme going and they were very friendly. It was not busy when we got there but started filling up towards the end. Unfortunately I forget the name of the meal and appetizer I got but they were absolutely delicious. Especially the appetizer. My husband got the Spanish burger and said it was really good. It looked delicious. And if you are taking a kid with you, they have a kid friendly menu with chicken fingers and burgers on it. So if you are like me, don't let the thought of Mexican Restaurant fool you. You can ask for no beans and the menu has alot to choose from. It is a definite must for everyone to try at least once!

I absolutely Love coming to El Palacio's to eat. I Love it to the point that I drive from the city I live in just to eat here it is so so good. I won't eat at any of the Mexican restaurants where I live and there are many of them, but I prefer to drive to Ozark AL if I'm planning on Mexican food it's definitely worth it. The owner and the staff are so awesome they go above and beyond to make sure that you are satisfied with your meal and that you feel at home. Just know that if you are ever in the Ozark AL area ant want good Mexican food you should give this restaurant a try, you will not be disappointed.

My family and I stopped here on our way back from a Troy football game. Haven’t eaten here in forever and last I remembered, it was great! Well, not tonight.

First, let me say that our server, Alyssa, was awesome. She was super sweet and attentive. Not sure how they’re able to keep her around.

I should have known how the experience was gonna go when we ordered queso and it came out yellow… it was definitely just melted velveeta cheese.

My wife ordered the chicken chimichanga and a margarita, I ordered the crispy quesadilla and my kids both ordered a combo plate with enchiladas and tacos.

The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The chimichanga was not fried, so it was just a burrito basically, and the chicken was not seasoned AT ALL. You could tell it was just straight up boiled.

The beef on everyone else’s plate was dry and flavorless. My quesadilla was so hard and chewy that I couldn’t cut it with a knife.

The sweet server came over and asked us how everything was and we politely told her that the food wasn’t edible. She profusely apologized and said she would go talk to the manager.

The manager came over to our table, put his arm up on the back of the booth and said “Alright, talk to me”… super unprofessional. We explained the situation and his reply was “Tell ya what. I’ll take half off of your meal (pointing at my wife), but that’s all I can do. I can’t take the heat come Monday morning.”… honestly, it came off as douche-y and arrogant.

Nobody finished even half of their food, I paid my $65 check, yes, it was still $65 after he took half off of my wife’s meal, left Alyssa a tip and left.

I sure as hell won’t ever be back and I would recommend you go somewhere else. This “Mexican” food was the whitest Mexican food I’ve ever tasted.

Man what can I say. Nothing but they have possibly the best tacos I have ever eaten. I use to eat at this place when it was in Dothan, AL but they closed down. I tried this one in Ozark, AL and so far I have returned to eat again. My plans are to return I enjoyed my tacos and plan on trying something different I hope it is as good as the tacos. Nice place.

I made reservations for our church group for today , 2 ordered the burger with toasted bun ( the bun was burnt on both) I order the half beef nachos with peppers but it came with no lettuce , tomatoes or sour cream , my son got the Pollo chicken dish the strips were huge and dry he ask for tortillas he got two but they were ice cold like they just pulled them out of the fridge. Our waitress was Christy N .very nice.

Remember the frozen enchiladas back in the 90's? My mom use to sprinkle extra cheese to make them better. I just ate there for the first time, and was instantly transported back in time. If you like your salsa pureed and to taste like chilli, then you are in luck! The service was amazing tho. She was extremely nice, efficient, and a pro in the service industry. I hope they treat her well..she is the only reason we stayed for the meal after tasting the salsa and canned cheese dip. The cowboy up front was very polite when we left. I worked for El Palacio years ago in Dothan, and people would drive miles to eat the beef and cheese nachos! They were awesome! I got nostalgic when I was passing through Ozark and saw this place, but I wish now that I had made better choices.

I originally gave 5 stars but took away one star because of my experience a few days ago. I love the food and always have but last time I went we watched our waitress get chips from the table over who left them and put them in our bowl of chips after we had asked for some more. I think that’s really unsanitary and hope that’s not what they always do.

My family and I were traveling across state when we found this hidden gem! Very delicious food! Large portions at a fair price. Was impressed by the staff and the atmosphere. The owner was very friendly too! Will definitely recommend and coming again!

The price was wonderful, the food was delicious & Tiffany & Ben were so friendly. They made us feel like we were home! The food was their own recipes & date back to the 1800s I think they said. 1000/10 recommend, we will have to make the 2 hour drive from home to visit again and probably make it a tradition! If I could give 20 stars in all areas I would!! This place is by far the best mexican food I have ever tasted!!! The Owner Ben took time out of his busy day to say hi and ask us about our experience and was SUPER FRIENDLY. The Waitress Tiffany was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! The Service was AWESOME!! My Chile rellenos were spot on, but my wife's tamales left much to be desired. We have been there several times on Sundays after church and have always enjoyed the good food, prompt service and their chips and salsa are top notch. Every other time, really good food!

Very friendly staff, I have my service animal and they were very accommodating (because I had the proper markings, vest and ID card). Food was wonderful as always!! Never disappointing!

Chips and sauce make it a 5 alone but the burrito and steak nuggets are over the top! Great value for ur $.

My favorite place to eat when I come back home for a visit! The food is amazing! The staff is always great! Excellent customer service! Best salsa in the southeast!!! They sell jars you can take with you! ❤️ Definitely recommend you try them out when you’re in the area!
