We'll be back! If you ask for spicy salsa, you won't be disappointed. I liked the option of dressing your own street tacos with onion, sauce and cilantro. The place isn't fancy, and that's ok. It reminded me of restaurants in Puerto Rico. Good vibes. They are expanding their menu soon, and we can't wait to try the new additions.

Wonderful authentic Mexican food with some Carribean options. The gentleman who waited on us was so, so friendly and never let our chips run out or drinks go dry.

The alambre was fantastic and the spicy salsa was uniquely delicious - maybe pineapple or some other fruit juice? It was hot and addictive!

I’d been here a few times after work for drinks and appetizers, with a coworker. My wife and I went here today for lunch and weren’t disappointed. The food was great, margaritas were great and service is always great. We highly recommend. Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed. We had street tacos and a chalupa/taco plate.

So I saw the reviews and thought 4.8 Stars 100 people can't be completely wrong. And I'm here to tell you they weren't. Start with I had one of the best margaritas I've ever ordered. The food was second to know other Mexican restaurants I've been to. The music was this pleasant vibe the entire time that just transported you into a different place.

First time dining here and found the food, atmosphere and service to be very good. All three diners at our table agreed that the food was tasty, fresh and hot. The only negative was the hot salsa that we requested. The "fire roasting" was a bit overbearing making the salsa a touch bitter. However the regular salsa was very good. Tequila's will definitely be on our list of places to return. Pardon the state of the photo. I had already dug into my Enchiladas Suiza before I remembered to take a picture.

Don't believe the 5 star reviews you've read. Worst Mexican restaurant ever. Ever. Period. Ordered a top shelf margarita. No flavor. Watered down. Definitely not top shelf. Chips stale. Cheese dip cold. Beef taco meat as watered down as the margarita. Tamale dry with very little meat. Not sure how this place is still open. Run away.

I tried this place for the first time on yesterday, and it was so good! I had Birria tacos and Birria ramen. The ramen had so much meat! If you're looking for good Birria, this is the place to go! The staff are also very friendly!

Wow, excellent food. great service and prices. This is the kind of pequeña catina that makes each meal especially for each customer. These were the best fish tacos I have had outside of Mexico. Even the refried beans were nicely done. We will definitely be back!

Ate here last night with my wife. Not many customers but was a Tuesday night. The salsa with the chips was phenomenal. Salsa had a kick to it that most Mexican restaurants do not have. We loved it. The rice and beans with our entrees were good. The pico de gallo was exceptional. The owner brought us some extra spicey sauce which was excellent. The entrees both fell flat and lacked flavor. My wife's pork carnitas was like just sliced, boiled pork. My chimichanga was the frozen variety which was fried. Not sure what I was expecting but this was only OK at best. For $40 with a tip and no alcohol. We likely will not be back.

This would've been a 4.5 star review.
The wait staff wasn't fantastic..at all. I had to waive them down multiple times and still they didn't get the message. They sat down and ate while we waited for the check. When we received our check, our bill was 97. We paid $120 and NEVER received our change back. The waitress who took it didn't even look at us after she took our money. This was a good taste in our mouth that went incredibly sour.

My boyfriend and I were in town from Ormond Beach for the Hotter N Hell trail race. We love Mexican food, so we read reviews and ended up here. BEST Mexican food we have had in a very long time! The owner was super nice, the food was fresh and the flavor was not disappointing! We will be back! Give them a try!

I truly don't understand why this place was not packed at lunch time on a Thursday when we got there, because the food here was great. We all enjoyed our meals. The tamales were very good, I think because of some special spices in the mole... Even the fajita taco salad was better than I have had before, Service was as good as the salsa. I regret not having more room to eat more!

This is excellent Mexican food! It’s difficult to find in Alabama. Mostly runny beans and soggy rice. Not here… Everything is really good. The local Mexican community eats here, so that really says something. If this were in Hoover or Helena, they would be top rated in BHAM area. Come here. You won’t be disappointed!

Restaurant was very clean with Mexican playing at a low volume which we enjoyed!
We had the best service and our food was delicious! The chips had a very good flavor and were so crispy and fresh. Salsa and cheese dip were so tasty as well.
We shared the nachos supreme and ask for jalapeño peppers and guacamole to be added, this was enough for two of us to share and then some! This was so good!!!
We will definitely return!

Stopped in for a quick bite on a Wednesday evening, not busy, a handful of customers/tables. There was 1 server working who was very attentive and personable, a regular walked in and he greeted them with a smile and a hug, I LOVE that kind of service! My friend suggested we try this place and I was not disappointed! The staff is super friendly and brought everything out quickly. There was a mixed drink special running since it was Tuesday and I recommend everyone try the Bahama Mama.

Ordered the Fajita Chicken Chimichanga and it was absolutely DIVINE. Will be back very soon!

We moved to Pelham a year ago and I was so disappointed in every Mexican-style restaurant we tried (we tried 7+) UNTIL WE FOUND THIS ONE!!!!!! The service is incredible, the food is by far the best (their menu is unbelievable), they never skimp you on tequila in their margaritas (as all the other places around here seem to), the prices are PHENOMENAL!! I could go on and on about all of my positive experiences here. Do yourself a favor and get the Fresh Guacamole, it’s the best I’ve had. I don’t understand how this place isn’t packed all the time.

I wanted to love it. I only came because so many people mentioned. No, just no. The food was not fresh, the corn tortilla was soft mixed with hard. The rice was flavorful but hard. The beans straight out of the can. The service mediocre. The steak not tender, the shrimp was good. The El Nino meal was not El nino'n. Absolutely would not do it again and I hate that. Family of 4 $70 I could have stopped at a food truck for better tacos and rice and beans.

Had a great time here with a friend eating empanadas and ceviche with a sangria margarita (sangriarita?). The empanada was large, albeit only one of them, and the chicken inside was well-seasoned and juicy. The only downfall was the filling wasn't as hearty as I'd hoped and a lot of the empanada, itself, was mainly the breading outside.

The ceviche was decent and spicy enough, but it wasn't as juicy as you might find at some restaurants/taco trucks. You could taste the citrusy flavor, but there wasn't any actual liquid base which I found strange. It honestly may be a difference in Dominican and Costa Rican ceviche I'm unaware of. Either way, it tasted fine, just a preference of mine, I guess.

The sangriarita concoction was amazing and SUUUUUPER strong. Absolutely no complaints there. I drank about 2/3 and had to cut myself off. Ha! I'm definitely not a lightweight and can drink most men under the table, too, so that's saying something.

The place was decorated brightly and colorfully so the aesthetic and music got you in a good mood as soon as you come in (think I caught some good ol early 90s Luis Miguel in the mix). All in all, I'll certainly be back in the future!

Second time here and both times delicious. The best margaritas served in beautiful glassware which adds to the experience! This is some of the best Mexican food we've had. No prefab food here....all freshly prepared. The Hawaiian quesadilla was amazing. We will be back!

Employes are awesome. The food is GREAT. It's not a typical Mexican Restaurant. You also can have Puerto Rican and Dominican food. The amount of food they serve is a lot which is very good. Prices are affortable. The passion fruit juice is my favorite. I recommend the mofonguitos, the carnitas, empanadas, biftec, the tequila steak. Music is also nice, not too loud. The restaurant is always clean and looks organized.

Spent 60$ to go. Small portions on all the food i got. Got drink for 7$ at bar, full of ice and watered down. FULL OF ICE. A older couple came in, sat down and left 1 min later. And the place was empty. 1st visit. Last vist. Nice guy that took order though.

It’s almost one of those hole-in-the-wall places that only the locals know about. The staff are plenty friendly, but the food and drinks are even better. They have several dishes based out of the Dominican Republic, to boot! Tonight I’m eating the Quesadilla Hawaiana (sans jalapeño’s) and it is excellent! This is likely to be my new “go to” spot for dining on the way home from work.

First thoughts... hole in the wall, rethemed subway, now serving Mexican food. What is another Mexican restaurant in Pelham, the state capital for latin inspired cuisine? Well, we decided to go on a Monday evening. There were about four tables seated. We were greeted with a friendly face and seated promptly. Served with fresh corn chips and mild salsa. We asked for spicy salsa and queso and were brought a sauce to add to our salsa. It made the salsa better. We had two top shelf medium margaritas each. They were very light and easy to drink. Our entrées were chicken street tacos and pork (only option) tamales. My taco loving significant other enjoyed the tacos, and I enjoyed the tamales. To finish off, we ordered fried ice cream, vanilla ice cream served in a sopapilla with cherry and chocolate sauce, it was very good. I will say the best part of the visit was the service, I'll be back to try more items on the menu. The owner was there and seemed to care about the experience and quality of food we received. I will be back.

We were going to eat next door but decided to try this place. The margarita was the best ever. The cheese dip and salsa were great. I got a tostado. , Beef enchilada with green sauce snd a taco. My wife got a beef burrito. Everything was excellent. We will be back

I had my first meal (lunch) at Tequilas today and it was absolutely fantastic. I appreciate that the restaurant describes itself as a "Mexican Grill," but it's so much more. The menu has a lot of variety and includes several Mexican and Caribbean dishes at reasonable prices. On my first visit, I had a patacón, a sandwich of sorts made with fried green plantain instead of bread. Apparently, the patacón hails from Venezuela but is popular throughout the Caribbean, especially among Dominicans such as the restaurant's friendly and joyful owner, José. Before starting on the sandwich, I dove headfirst into one of the best baskets of tortilla chips I've had in ages. You can actually taste the corn in these chips and see the peppers floating among the tomatoes and onions of the salsa.
I recommend you try Tequilas on your next lunch break or dinner. I know that I will definitely be back.

Delicious margaritas and food! I recommend the guanabana margarita. It was amazing! The owner is a great host and customer service was superb. Also, this place offers a small selection of Caribbean meals (tostones, mofongo and more). This is nice, considering we don't really have many or any options for Caribbean food in the area.

Awesome place! Very friendly employees and the food was fantastic; a step above the other restaurants around here. About 30 minutes after we left, we realized our daughter had left some goofy plastic ring that just about had her in pieces. We called up and they had already found it and set it aside for us in case we came back. Couldn't ask for much more out of a restaurant!

What a great new place to enjoy Mexican, Cuban and a taste of the Caribbean. Vast menu all very reasonably priced. Full bar (wine by this weekend). Warm welcome and friendly service. Already thinking what I will eat next time! Chips were fresh as was the salsa. Cheese dip was yummy too!

This is not your typical Mexican restaurant. It’s got a different flavor. In a good way. The presentation of the food and beverage is like something from a fine dining experience. The staff is extremely friendly. They take pride in the quality of their presentation. And the surprising part is the prices are very reasonable.

We went for the first time tonight. We had a group of 12. Food took over an hour to come! We ordered right away and dinner took a total of 2 hours. Each dish came one at a time, apparently, a cook didn't show up. It was never communicated that food would take longer and no discounts were offered. This is completely unacceptable! My husband had to cancel his order!

Ordered to go today and the to go person wrote down the order correctly; however, the kitchen didn't seem to know their own menu ingredients...ordered Mexican Steak Burrito and got a Texicano Burrito (all the ingredients that a burrito I didn't want was the burrito that was prepared and given to me)...thought we'd give this restaurant a try due to the great reviews. Unfortunately, disappointment was the outcome. Lesson learned...stick to Chuy's.

Exactly what you expect. Solid Mexican food at reasonable prices and great service. Ask for the hot salsa it's tasty with a little bit of heat that we enjoyed. No flair just good fare.
