El Vaquero Mexican Restaurant

The food was not bad. I wish my plate had beans and rice, but it's my fault for not reading it. I got the enchilada plate that has four, each one is different Overall, it was an affordable solid meal.

Only complaint is the flour tortillas seem to be store brought and we're not toasted at all. I didn't eat them after a few bites.

My daughter wanted to go here for her birthday dinner. The atmosphere was fantastic. It seemed to be the happening spot for a Saturday night. The staff were polite and helpful. The overall experience was wonderful!!!

I come here when it's not during peak hours. It can be a bit overwhelming when it's crowded and the spirits start flowing. With that being said, the food is always good. I get the same thing every time I visit. Baja fish tacos with an extra mango habanero mayo or the shrimp taco ensalada. Ms Marta or Clara are great. I forgot the other young lady's name but she's a sweetheart also.

I order the Shrimp Fajitas. It was pretty good, just a tad dry. I would definitely add queso next time. Customer service was ok. The lady that brought the salsa had her index finger and thumb in the salsa so no one ate it.

Was here on our way back home and decided on some Mexican food, this was close to the hotel and did not disappoint. Service was excellent and the food well prepared. Had some fresh guacamole which was good but not over the top. Margaritas were good but not strong, the food had good flavors and we enjoyed it.

Our waiter Dennis was really nice. He was helpful and we loved having him serve us. The food was a bit salty however. A few of my siblings couldn’t finish their food because it was too salty. The lights in the restaurant were very dim.

I am irritated at the fact every time I call in an orders. My orders is wrong and when I bring it the cashier attention he or she looks like a deer caught in head lights. The only correct they can come up with is to charge me for what they left off.

My family enjoys this place, so we come often. Roughly about 4-5 families were already seated before us. No problem. When we were seated it took the server a while to greet us, when she did My family and I ordered and approximately 20 minutes later more people came in. No problem. Approximately 10-15 goes by, food comes out and everyone got their food but me. 20 minutes goes by my food did not arrive. Manager offered 10 % discount but we're military and wouldve gotten it anyway. I told her I did not want the food any longer because my family is done eating. Attitude ensues. I paid for what was eaten and left. I will never come back to an establishment the wants patrons and tips but has poor service and management. No longer will patron an establishment that doesn't respect me or my family

This was my third time at El Vaquero. I eat here when I visit my parents, two hours from home. Prices are good, food is great, service is excellent. I took my elderly parents recently and the staff was beyond kind and considerate.
I've found a new favorite Mexican eatery away from home!

Don't go. We ordered fajitas. They were dreadful. We ordered steak and chicken. We could barely find small slivers of chicken. The skirt steak ( which is dirt cheap) was burned and impossible to chew. I've never had a bad experience with mexican restaurants. The manager barely wanted to give our money back for something we did not, or could not eat. The chips were crumbs. He blamed the chip company. Hahaha. Won't be back ever!!!!

Management needs to be MUCH more gracious to customers.
I ordered a margarita on the rocks. When it arrived, it was warm and tasted bad. I added ice to cool it hoping that might improve the taste, but that didnt work. The manager stopped by to ask how we were doing and I let him know my drink was off and I couldn't drink it. We were met with resistance from the start. His demeanor changed abruptly and he became combative about my request. When i asked the manager to replace the drink with a frozen Margarita, I was told that I could not have the frozen one because of the differing distribution of alcohol or some other excuse that truly made no sense? He then said that he could rework the Margarita into a Texas style and as we watched he took the drink to the bar, took a bottle of Jack Daniels and dumped a shot in the drink. He then brought that same drink back to the table and at that point it tasted much worse. He came back by later and we had not even had any more of that drink because it was disgusting and so when I asked him to take it Off the bill he shook his head and said there was no way that was gonna happen. Then he pointed around the room and said the other guests are all enjoying the drinks, which I found completely asinine. That's when I told him that there used to be a day when the customer was always right I'm that people in the service industry used to politely try to fix something that we politely said was wrong. He walked away shaking his head leaving me without a drink and no idea what was to happen.
The poor waitress was so self-conscious and seemed very upset about the whole thing she came later and took the drink from the table. Later, the manager returned to the table with his phone and showed a video of us putting the ice in the cup and blaming us for making the Margarita undrinkable. He failed to show the part of the video where everyone at the table tasted the drink and agreed it was disgusting, TWICE
I told him that was very petty and that the only thing that needs to happen now is that we're not paying for that drink period. Lucky for him he didn't leave it on the bill. As we got up to leave, another table full of guests said they didn't like their drinks either. Your customers keep your doors open. Treat them with more respect, please.

Good food, but service is iffy. Most wait staff make you feel like it's a burden to take your order or answer any questions. Often they are gathered together talking amongst themselves and just glance as you walk past. We are frequent patrons because of location but would not continue if something better opens in the area..... Our average ticket is $100+ so it's very sad to not feel good about the experience.

There were multiple parties the night we were there, two of them with about 40 people each, and the staff was working really hard. The service was outstanding, especially considering how thin they were spread. The cocktails were strong and good, but the food was bland and under-seaoned.

I know that's weird 😕. Atmosphere was off the chain unfortunately Dell taco has better food an service. I didn't like the tea it was way to sweet. So I asked my server for a diet coke out of the cooler by the door... She said 👎 NO... So I paid our $68.00 bill Threw away my leftovers and went to Dell taco. Had 18 tacos spent $10
