No cheese in sight. None of the dishes have much cheese which I am still confused about. Margarita more sweet then tart for a lime drink. Our service was good.

Me and my friend dined here and asked specifically if our plates came with beans, the waitress responded no. Our plates had beans, we sent them back and the burritos were remade and ONLY the burritos were sent back. No garnishments that were on our original plates that is clearly stated on the menu to be included with the meal. By the time our plates were fixed and brought back to the table the rest of our party had completely finished so we asked for to go plates and the garnishments for our plates. She attempted to charge us for each item because we were taking them Togo. But it was not by choice, our plates were incorrect and had to be sent back to the kitchen. We should not have been charged more for a mistake made by staff. This will be the last time any of us dine with them and we were regulars. This is the 2nd bad encounter in 2 weeks.

This was the best Mexican restaurant in Phenix City AL but we had two orders to go and when we got home the order was soft taco not hard tacos. There was no cheese on one taco or tomatoes or lettuce. On the other taco was 1/2 teaspoon cheese no lettuce or tomatoes. My son ordered two beef tacos and could not eat them. I gave mine to my three dogs. It was horrible. I called to talk to them and they left me know right away there was nothing they could do. It will be a long time before we go back if at all. No cheese or tomatoes.

Do not recommend. Pricing is reasonable but food too salty not great quality. Chips tasted old, and customer service is ok but very disrespectful. Luckily I understand Spanish but apparently don’t look like I do, so overhead the waitresses talking behind our backs being super disrespectful and demeaning to say the least. Not coming back here ever again. They’ll get your orders wrong and be grouchy about it if you tell them. This is our last time here do not come.

This was our first time. Very pleased with our last minute decision. Taco salad for each.. ground beef for The Mister and chicken for me. The beans are delicious! Taco Salad and El Pollo Feliz this tri p.

Very good food and friendly service. I'm disappointed in the sopapillas. The ones Where I'm from are fluffy and these were very hard. The cheese dip is also very runny. Other than That everything else was yummy!.

Food was great. Service not so much. Server didn't check on us once. We had been done eating for a while when he finally showed up to see if we wanted anything else. Hopefully the service will be better next time.

I go to this restaurant every week. It is my favorite little place to go that is close to my house. The service is always very good and they are all so friendly. Food never dissappoints.

I've dined here several times over the last couple of years. This will be my last. This was quite possibly the worst food I've put in my mouth this year. It took three attempts to get the order almost right. The food was bland and old ( like a week old) or at least tasted that way.

Have always enjoyed the food until this past Saturday 7/6/24. My gf got a Acapulco's plate and when she was about half way through her plate, she noticed a long piece of hair that was imbedded into the chicken. I mentioned this to the server who asked to talk to the cashier prior to paying. I did just that and talked to her expecting to at least have that plate taken off my bill. Like I said, we normally don't have issues like this here. Cashier informed me she was aware of the issue but could not take the Acapulco's plate off my bill. Only a discount. I asked to speak with a manager but of course they weren't present. This was a very disappointing experience which will lead us to think twice about coming back to this location.

We've been several times and I don't want to paint too bad a picture (I've only left one other negative review anywhere), but ..... the service was good this last time, but the 2 prior within tha last 2 months were awful. The foods pretty good, but comparatively to a couple other local places, it's just not as good.

I used to like this place but the food is too expensive for the quality and the wait staff and cashier (men & women) are rude, even condescending. I will drive to AU or Columbus for Mexican food before I waste my time and money here again!

While dining in is always pleasurable other than one specific server who always messes up our order, the carry out experience has not been up to par. I have ordered multiple menu items and when they're prepared for a to-go order they are lacking the condiments and toppings. When I asked to make sure that these are added to the order three different times I'm reassured they are included. I get home and they're not there. For example if you order pastor tacos in the restaurant you get cilantro and onions if you order it to go they do not give you cilantro and onions you get pico de Gallo. I have also ordered a large cheese dip and receive the dip and the chips but no salsa which is customary in a to-go order. I have also ordered dishes that come with cheese dip on top but when you order it to go there is no cheese dip. Check your bags before you walk out the door.

I'm not one to speak much negatively on things. don't get me wrong it's not bad I've come to realize it's a small business probably family owned so..... it's decent but not the atmosphere that one would really desire. Food was OK 👌.I'll go as far as to say if they prosper enough to grow and remodel then I'd support them more but for now ehhhh wish them them the best and desire for them to be blessed with ability to impress me next time.

Pésimo servicio.!! los meseros discuten sin sentido enfrente de los clientes prácticamente le hacen tirada la comida sobre la mesa sin importar que los platos vayan caliente, la verdad fue una mala experiencia!! Por ejemplo a mi salió un cabello en la comida y le pedi amablemente al mesero que si por favor me cambiaba la comida y hizo un escándalo por todo el restaurante dando entender que yo no quería pagar mi comida la verdad eso lo vi innecesario.. solo puedo opinar que lo único bueno de este restaurante es la cebolla!!😂😂

The waiter we had tonight was absolutely terrible at doing his job....he took our order, avoided our table, brought us our food and didn't come back the rest of the time we were there. It's like he hid from our table and didn't make eye contact. Spent most the time eating behind the bar area. He's the older Mexican waiter. And I'm assuming this is the one that all the bad reviews are written about. I hope the owner has a talk with him because he is the reason why Alacapulcos will loose business....

Overall experience is always good when I go there. Just wish they would do more traditional Mexican food. There's little to no seasoning in their meat. They use a lot of sauces rather than seasoning. Growing up in the southwest I'm very picky when it comes to Mexican places to eat. I'd still recommend Acapulcos a decent place to grab dinner. Margaritas are really good!!!

We were seated, and ignored repeatedly by the server. He walked by us 5 times without asking for our drink order. After reading previous reviews, seems like he's an issue. After waiting 15 minutes, we left. Loco Pocos in Smiths Station is where we'll always go from now on!

We were seated and the waiter walked by us 5 times without taking our drink order. We waited 15 minutes before leaving after getting ignored repeatedly. This place used to be one of our favorites. We won't ever be back and will always go to Loco Polcos in Smiths Station.

The service there was awful. Our server didn't tend to our needs. He left drinks empty while he sat in the corner playing on his phone. My friend told him about the issues and he said if you don't like my service don't tip. The margaritas tasted like it was only mix. We we're extremely disappointed. They didn't even sing happy birthday to my friend.

Service was EXCELLENT!! Food was HORRIBLE!! Cheese dip was very runny. The ground beef on/in the nachos and tacos didn't taste real. Mango wings had no mango taste at all. The shrimp n sauce over fries were disgusting! Besides the service, only other good thing were the portion sizes. Correction: the guacamole was fresh and good. But big portions doesn't help if it's practically inedible!! Won't be going back!

I have no complaints about the food. Excellent every time. BUT the last 2 times my family and I have been in to eat, our server has been super rude to us. Not sure why but it feels super uncomfortable eating somewhere when you are treated poorly for no reason at all..

My family has been going here about a decade. Tons of memories always good food and people.
Written later- I seriously love this place. Their steak was good, I have a high bar when it comes to steak, not the best I've eaten. My father holds that title, shared with a Japanese joint but it was diffinately better than a steakhouse to me. The shrimp is where it shined and their mix drinks. Had a hula hula, delicious. But I seriously can't get over that shrimp. It hit the spot. Everything I've ordered here has not missed. I use to always just get their Gigante burrito, with jalapeños sometimes and like the usual fajita and quesadilla, but since I've been trying new stuff here it's hitting the spot everytime and they've been consistent for a LONG time. Usually restaurants occasionally sucks especially over the yrs but these guys have never failed me. Makes me soo happy I had to leave a wall of text for everyone else to read. And one more thing they do not skimp on food or alcohol drinks. Their large is massive.

I wanna give a half a star and simply because my wife was celebrating her birthday tonight and the waiters were absolutely horrible.A couple came after us and they received their food and the waiter never came to assist our table.I will not be returning any time soon.

Great hospitality and food. I ordered the “Puerquito” (Beef enchilada, chile con carne beans & rice) and my husband ordered “pancho villa” (Chile relleno, beef burrito, chicken quesadilla). Everything was incredibly fresh. The Mexican rice was delicious! I didn’t really care for the beans (even though I LOVE beans). There was a whole list of tequilas in the back but we were just passing through town. Overall, great place.

Had a call in order and once again they messed it up. Call and was told the manager doesn’t work on weekends and there is nothing they could do about the order they messed up. I asked for the owner and was told he’s in Mexico. I asked if there was a manager at the smiths station location and they don’t have a manager working there on weekends also.

Acapulco’s is the best and most authentic restaurant in the Phenix City/Columbus area. Pick this over every other Mexican restaurant. Service is extremely friendly and fast. The food is incredible. Their tequila selection is unmatched. Pick Acapulco’s if you’re craving Mexican food. I typically get queso, the Texas fajita, and a lime margarita. All taste better than other Mexican restaurants I’ve been to.

Acapulcos is a welcome change to the type of food normally found in this area. Being 20-30 minutes from the heart of Columbus, finding a good place to eat aside from fast food is frustrating.

Acapulcos is bright, cozy, and the service is really good. The food is always excellent and consistent.

The only thing I'd love for a change is if the salsa had a kick to it. It's a great consistency and fresh flavor, but it's missing salt or spice.

Don't waste your time nor your money at Acapulco's in Phenix City, Alabama. The so-called "Nacho's" are a bunch of crumbled-up tortilla chips topped with a whole lot of flavorless nothing on top. The pan is 9"x 9" inches and the so-called beef is about a half-a-teaspoon of flavorless nothing as well. Save your money and time and go to another Mexican restaurant that serves real food. Acapulco's is the worst so-called Mexican restaurant in the bi-city.

I wouldn't say the food is authentic, but it is close to it. The taste of the food also isn't the best, but it is cooked all the way, safely, and it's hot when it gets to you. Service from the staff is quick even on a packed night due to the small but roomy space of the layout. Overall, it's a good place to eat, especially if you're trying to go out of your way to try new foods, and that makes this place pretty cool.

You really need to taste test your taco salad shells ASAP. I ordered one a week ago and it tastes like soap. I had to dump out the filling and eat that with chips. Once again the same issue today. I thought it was a coincidence but apparently something is wrong.

My wife loves the cheese dip so I get her a to go order. It and the chips are very expensive. My wife want it so happy wife happy life. Right? I see a sign on the door no outside food or drinks.
I'm not dining in but it starts me to thinking

What about the children that wants McDonald's and parents want Mexican food. I don't have any little children. However it rubbed me the wrong way I told my wife I would not be eating there anymore it's the small things

The drinks are expensive and the food prices are high for me i know I know if you don't like something don't go. I'm not if my wife wants cheese dip she can get it or I will go to Phenix City and get it at the other Mexican restaurant

If it's a sign on the door that says no outside food or drinks at another Mexican restaurant then I will not go there either
