Both the food and service were great; I got my food probably within seven minutes of ordering and the price was very fair. Owners also have good taste in music, lol.

I will start with "I don't like Subway". So I found this spot hoping to find a hidden gem in Prattville while at work. It was slow and tucked away so it was promising. Chips and salsa were better than average. Order two enchiladas with rice and beans. Got the food, and the rice and beans weren't bad at all. The chicken enchilada was pretty dry and bland but the beef enchilada had some, not so browned ground beef. I asked for another chicken one but had already lost my appetite. I really was really hoping for something special. Just a little below average. I should have just eaten at Subway.

Update: To address the rude and misinformed business owner. I took pictures the moment I got out of the car because I review restaurants. I wasn't rude, and I did ask for a chicken enchilada to replace the beef enchilada, and I tipped the waiter without so much as a gripe or complaint. I only have one account so I couldn't be posting multiple reviews. But I will lower the review from 2 stars to 1 for the expert follow up. The customer is certainly not always right but you should learn to accept criticism and take responsibility.

Great value!!! Warm welcome and friendly attentive staff. Decorated very well with a boat bar and loved the authentic furniture. The food was absolutely delicious from the fresh salsa and chips to the cheasy enchiladas and that guacamole salad!! YUM

Came in for lunch about halfway through a road trip and ordered the Enchiladas Cancun (enchiladas with shrimp on top). The restaurant only had a few other people there and it was well-cleaned.
Both the food and service were great; I got my food probably within seven minutes of ordering and the price was very fair. Owners also have good taste in music, lol.
Overall, no complaints. Probably within the top 5 Mexican places I’ve ate at.

I’m Mexican been eating menudo for 40 years they rang me up for 133.00 dollars when my tab was 33.00 dollars I drank 2 beers different accent I’m from Texas but if I would have been drunk they would have robbed me close this place down not Mexican
Mexican people have integrity the boss lady knows what they doing they got a kid on the register to use him as an escape goat he does not look like he can do that job functionally the reason I say that is because they all started questioning him but the receipt said 133.00

Had the steak fajitas and pork carnitas, and all was delicious. The margaritas were very delicious as well.

The service was friendly and the food came out fast, but too fast. It came out in about 2 minutes and there were five people eating. The ground beef was not drained and the salsa tasted like it came off the shelf.

Went there 2/11/24 and ordered Garlic Shrimp. It was THE MOST DELICIOUS meal I’ve eaten out since BEFORE COVID!! And we actually had attentive service. It was an excellent experience, and I HIGHLY recommend you go and try the Garlic Shrimp!

This Mexican restaurant is extremely underrated here in Prattville. It’s very inexpensive and the food taste so good! I love the salsa it is better then any other Mexican restaurant in the area. The staff is also very nice. It’s a shame there is hardly ever customers here. It’s amazing!

Great food, flavor, and staff. I was amazed by the amount of dishes that they offered. The staff is awesome and very personable. If you want authentic Mexican food, try El amigo. If you like ceviche, the shrimp ceviche is really good. I prefer fish, but they made a believer out of me. The pozole is slightly salty but the avocado and tostada shells offset the salt. The Chile Colorado was flavorful and delicious.

Tucked in a strip mall off the interstate, this Mexican restaurant is a hidden gem. It's location keeps it from any foot traffic so those who come here know about it. The atmosphere is a little worn but still nice and clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. The menu offerings have the usual fare that you will find at any Mexican restaurant but there are a few surprises and unique dishes. Prices are a little higher than what you will find but the offerings are more upscale than most. (lots of steak options) My daughter tried the burrito supreme, a dish she gets at every place, so as to compare to the others. My wife got the enchilada Verde, a regular for her. Both said the food was good and they enjoyed it. The ubiquitous chips and salsa were a contrast. The chips were commercial rather than house made but we're thin and crispy. The salsa was House made but used canned tomatoes with added fresh ingredients. The salsa was chunky and not too spicy. I ordered the steak torta. It was much more flavorful than most I have had. It can with cheese which I have found missing from other places. All in all, very good. The fries however, were just plain frozen fries. We liked it and will go again.

I realize not many choices if staying at the hotel next door but worst Mexican Ever. The meat was the same in everything (chili) taco, burrito etc. Margarita out of a can and cheese not melted on enchilada. Don’t understand rave reviews. Had to get my own hot sauce and plate.

Went there tonight for dinner before we leave. I ask for Two orders of chicken enchiladas The 3 beef tacos and a beef Chimichanga. What I got instead were 2 orders of beef enchiladas and 3 chicken tacos. And I'm not even sure what kind of meat was in the chimichanga. But their rice and beans are very good

This place has a ton of charm. The wife and I unofficially had three servers because all of the servers were so attentive. This is as authentic Mexican as you’re going to get in the USA. Everything was delicious. I can only assume that the individuals who left one star reviews subsist on a diet of sawdust. This place is exactly what we were looking for in a Mexican restaurant.

1st time to visit this restaurant. I was met with a smile and great reception. Seated promptly and provided with menu and drink promptly. Ordered the spicy burrito and side order of guacamole. I love making stops at random Mexican restaurants on road trips. This place has the best rice I've ever had at any of them. And I'm Indian, so when I say it's legit, it's legit.
The pollo El Amigo had juicy, tender chicken that was perfect. Sweet corn wasn't as good as expected. The cocktails are GIGANTIC. A small is the size of a regular cocktail in a city. Overall, a great place. Definitely recommend.

Stopped in Prattville on our way to FL. If you want authentic Mexican food, El Amigo is the place. Homemade tortillas and enchilada sauce. Pozole, delicious! THE MEAT was so tender, just like your abuelita would make at home!!! If you want dull, Americanized "mexican" food, this ain't for you. Will be back!!

This is by far the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. I had to write a review because I’ve eaten at a lot of the same style restaurants and this food is absolutely phenomenal. I didn’t know it could be this good is the most simple way to put it. The ingredients were fresh and even the rice was out of this world. So thankful for this gem I discovered.

Everything came out some form of wrong. My daughter ordered a cheese quesadilla & got it packed with chicken(which she doesn’t eat) & rice & beans(which she also doesn’t eat). My husband got two things - asked for no avacado (still got it, but that happens) and the meat was so bad he was throwing up in the bathroom & i just paid for supreme quesadilla quarter thing and got chicken and cheese quesadilla paying a lot more for literally no reason. I did not get any sautéed anything. It looked like my daughters quesadilla that came out wrong.

The waitress asked if everything was okay and good. I said no not really and she said okay and walked away.

Needless to say- we paid $40 for cheese dip two quesadillas and a soft taco he couldn’t eat. we won’t be back. If I could review and leave no starts or negative I would

I love the fact this place is right next to the hotel I stay at for business trips. I only go for the DRINKS AND SALSA. the salsa is homemade and super fresh. The margaritas are a constant when i go. Good mix and good prices. Just wish they had more deals on drinks other than on Thursdays

I cannot say enough about the awesome fajitas! Fresh ingredients, tender steak and chicken, perfectly seasoned. We knew it was going to be good once we got the thin crispy chips and delicious salsa. Cheese dip was also a hit! Be cautious of drinks....too much mix/very little tequila. Great service though. If we lived locally, we would frequent for the food!

Passing through from out of town. The food wasn't good. Worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. I ordered Nachos and they gave me more lettuce than anything, hardly no meat. Maybe 2 tablespoons of meat if that. I would not recommend this restaurant.
