Both my daughter and I had the same dish. Very tasty and good service. Just stopping here for the night and definitely cure our taste buds. As I'm traveling around, I’m surprised that this place keeps the chips and salsa flowing. At some restaurants, they charge for the second round of chips and salsa. We ate plenty—probably too much! Overall, a great deal, and definitely glad we picked this place!

This is the first time that I have visited this restaurant. What made me wait so long? I dropped in around 4:45 for takeout and my food was ready within 15 minutes😁 The staff was friendly and very helpful with my order. I wanted to order a specific they didn’t have and they made an adjustment to a suggested item. It was absolutely delicious. It was so much food that I could’ve fed more than just two people. I will definitely be going back to this amazing restaurant. It’s one of the best Mexican restaurants have eaten in the Prattville area. The chips and salsa for amazing as well. They were crisp and fresh. The salsa wasn’t too spicy but it had just enough to kick in it to make it taste delicious. Thank you El Patron For fast and friendly service 😄

I had Parrillada mexicana and my husband had Barbacoa they were delicious. I had enough to take home and eat another day too. Our waiter was right on time with everything and also friendly as well. We will definitely eat here again!

Tacos! They're good- but pricey. They sell them in plates. I bought the Street Taco Meal (#47) and the Tacos de Rey (#46). For my 4 Street Tacos options I chose the Asada, Al pastor, Carnitas and Chorizo. For my 3 Tacos de Rey selection I went with 1 shrimp on corn tortilla, 1 shrimp on flour tortilla and 1 fish of flour.
Asada was ok (3.5⭐️)
Al Pastor was my favorite (5⭐️) has pineapple and lots of good flavor
Carnitas was good (4⭐️)
Chorizo was very good (4.3)
The fish and shrimp are better in flour tortillas- as much as I love corn four everything else, the flour just works better. Both shrimp and Fish were amazing. 5⭐️ for both.

But the prices! Man! 4 street tacos for $15, and 3 fish/shrimp for $16?!? I'm having to go with an overall of 4. Drop the price of those meals a couple bucks each and it would be on par with other taco shops.

Amazing food!! We have tried three other Mexican restaurants in the area and they don't even come close. Their chips and salsa were absolutely wonderful. I got enchiladas and my husband got fajitas. The fajitas are a little pricier but very heavy on the protein which is nice. My margarita didn't have hardly any alcohol in it, but I feel like at this point it's a regional thing.

The waiter seemed annoyed we were taking our time to order and even more annoyed I ordered off the Al a carte menu. He wasn't very friendly. The food was great, and very filling. We gave the bill n credit card to the waiter but waited more than 15 minutes and still no waiter or card, We stopped another waiter and were told that the credit card machine wasn't working. Okay, we replied, it would have been nice to have had that information.
A Few more minutes and our waiter came by and repeated what we had been told AFTER he was alerted by the wait staff that we had stopped. Now it's more like 20 minutes we have been waiting. He asked if we had cash, but we didn't. He offered us to go drinks but still we waited over 30 minutes. Finally we were supplied with a paper form to fill out with credit card information. The food was impressive but the waiters unfriendliness along with the long haul sit and how the credit card situation was handled, I'm just not sure i will return. Going out to eat is a Treat we don't get to do much these days and I refuse to Pay for Poor Customer service. We felt held hostage because Their machine wasn't working. Our time is Valuabl as well as our $. All businesses especially these days should have a Back up plan for situations such as this.

Buyer beware! El Patron used to be our favorite Mexican restaurant, but we will not be returning. Multiple times they have tacked on extra charges for things they didn't tell us we would be charged extra for, but it's the way they went about doing it that really makes it wrong.

I ordered a chicken quesadilla, so they asked if I would like shredded or grilled chicken. What they didn't mention, and the menu also doesn't say, is that grilled chicken adds an extra two bucks. The next trip, I was ready for that (they tried again), but they did the same thing to my wife, but with a different tactic. She ordered a taco salad and they responded by going through all of the things it comes with along with one item not usually included, as if to ask her if she'd like everything that normally comes with a taco salad. She just said "yes", and sure enough, several extra dollars for added guacamole.

The servers all do this. They are obviously trained to do it and this is systematic deception. Now I'm seeing from other reviewers that they're charging a fee for using a credit card. Really? The prices on the menu have nearly doubled in the past 4 years and I understand that cost of operation is higher and most places have had to raise their prices, but add the El Patron Deception Tax in there and they have priced me out. Talk about spitting in the face of their loyal customers.

We placed a 40 to $50 order and mostly none of it was correct, when we called to question about our order. We were met with rude servers and told we could bring in the food that was wrong. But when we brought in the food we were treated disrespectfully again. And when we asked for a receipt, we were not given one and told that because we didn't pay him. We did not get a receipt. But we paid online through door dash. I.
Will not be going back , When we called them to talk about our Order They struggled to find it in the system even though we had Just place this order.

Very poor service. Waiter was real rude. We had to ask twice for salsa. He never refiled our drinks. Our food was cold when we got it after waiting 30 minutes for it. When we went to pay the amount was more and when asked why it was different she just pointed at the sign posted below instead of speaking to us.

We ordered the Enchiladas de Ranchero and 3 soft tacos. The presentation of the food was good. That was the best part.

The enchiladas were supposed to be beef, chicken, and cheese. However, the cheese ended up being a bean. This meal was ok, but bland. The sour cream provided the most flavor. The tacos tasted absolutely horrible and could not finish them.

Then, when you leave, if you pay by credit card, they charge a 3.9% fee. Nothing was said about the charge until I questioned why the total meal price was different.

Loved the food. I told one of the staff that this was the best Mexican food I've had since I left Chicago 30 years ago. He said to me when we were leaving I'll see you tomorrow we laughed. And you know what I was back the next day for some carry out. Kudos El Patron . Muy Bueno !!! 🙂👍🏽

The second time to this restaurant, the first was awesome but the second time was horrible. The food was amazing but the hostess for my table wasn't very attentive to our needs as we enjoyed our dinner. We had to wait several minutes between refills and had to wave her down (she was sitting in the corner playing on her phone as it wasn't busy at all when we went). The service I experienced this day was very lackluster and disappointing. For the price of the food, things have to be on point so to speak. The food has to be hot and the service must be timely, otherwise, the experience quality doesn't justify the price. Terrible experience this day.

This was just a sad experience. There was no flavor...asked for more salsa never got it. I should have read description more clearly for the Chile rellenos because it was just cheese and so the plate was just a pile of cheese with a little poblano and a little salad. The guacamole had the most flavor beside the salsa. Just disappointing.

The service was great but the food was terrible. Refried beans was runny. For some reason there were green beans in the rice and the rice tasted terrible in general. The chicken in our quesadillas and tacos looked and tastes like canned chicken.

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Prattville. After living here for about 7 years now. I visit this place at least three times a month. The staff are always so welcoming towards me. I guess since I’m a regular lol. The drinks are very good as well. I definitely recommend anyone to eat here at least once! 10/10

Went here for dinner & didn’t get treated as if we didn’t just buy and eat dinner there. I asked the name of a drink and pointed at the pic that was provided on the drink menu. The young lady told me the name but when i asked for the price she walked away brought water and never told me the price. So i tell her i’m gonna do the drink and pointed at the picture. Minutes later i get a drink that i did not order. She comes back with the manager and says that he’s not gonna refund it or swap it out for free. Just because i didn’t want to make a big deal about it I keep it. My partner asked for a draft michelob that was flat, got attitude about it. When we got the check and left no one said thank you, good night or anything just watched us leave. Thought since were spending money here we would have gotten at least a thank you. This was our first time here and now our last. Food is mediocre as well. 0/10

I’ve never sent food back in a restaurant, this was the first. Food was soggy and disgusting tasting. Mangonada was bland and tasteless. Sent food back after taking one bite of everything, was still charged for the meal. I would never recommend this restaurant. Our server was very polite and understanding. Manager should brief customers that there are no refunds for their disgusting food before ordering.

Everything is always perfect here. Prices are amazing and the staff is even better. I get my food so fast and it is always fresh. Super cheap as well! Elvira is a wonderful waitress and has such a big heart. She always gives me and my family hugs and even knows our orders by heart! I would recommend this place, to EVERYONE!!

If you call this good Tex-Mex or Mexican food you should get out and explore. It won’t take long to find a restaurant that blows them out of the water. Not sure what happened but this place was way better about 2 years ago.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. We dine in yesterday after my niece's High School graduation and let's just say everyone was disappointed. All of the food was cold, the fajitas were the only thing served hot. The drinks were disgusting, including the fountain drinks. I ordered a frozen margarita changed the flavor twice and still was left 🙃 disappointed. I wouldn't even give this place one star, but I had to select one just to post a review on a scale from 0-10. I would give this place a 0. The staff was upset because we didn't like any of the food. Just terrible 😞 place for such high prices

My friends and I went here last night & approximately 2 hrs later all of us were so sick ! I called the manager this morning when they opened to let them know and he told me I should have told him while we were there ??? How can I let you know of any sickness when we had just ate dinner . Management is very rude ! and they clearly have some cross contamination concerns going on here .

Not a bad looking place first until you want to return your food because it's not worth the value of the cost. Then they would roll their eyes at you and talk about you in Spanish. Lucky, I know a little bet of Spanish. I almost just walked out. Worst Mexican restaurant in town, I don't recommend this place at all.

I ordered a taco and tamale, tamale was so hard it was not edible, the taco was so small I thought it was kid sized! My husband liked his, my niece was not impressed with hers either. One in our party had shrimp and that was good as they don't like shrimp and passed it out to table.

Food was bland, we were a group of 9 and only one of us liked the food! There are 3 toilet stalls in the women's restroom, only one of which has a toilet seat and there was pee all over the floor. I'm very surprised they have a 4.3 rating!

Immediately upon arrival, we saw two cockroaches, one of which was crawling right beside my shoulder at a booth. Then got a very limey, salty margarita, after asked for no salt. When I had a simple question and asked for the waitress, the hostess said she would get her, came back (without waitress) and had an attitude before I was even able to get my question out. Normally, grace would be given, but the facility was extremely slow. Also, toilet seat missing in one stall and unsecured toilet seats in the other two. Highly disappointed with the cleanliness of the facility, and the woman who addressed us, not to mention that the waitress never came by to check on us, at all. Will not be back.

Always good food and service. Only complaint I have had was last time I was there, manager and our waiter took a both apart and brought it about 10 feet from where I was trying to enjoy our meal and with a hammer made repairs. This was quite noisy and caused us to cut our meal short and leave. I have eaten 4/5 times and this was only complaint.
