Mexico Tipico Mexican Restaurant

Mom and I really enjoyed our meal! I had the stuffed Pablanos, and Mom had a Taco Bowl. The Chips, Salsa and Cheese were so tasty! The Sweet Tea was perfect! Waiter, wish I'd gotten his name, was very attentive! He delivered everything in a timely manner and checked on us often. The price seemed normal as like other Mexican restaurants. The place was clean, including the restroom. We didn't have to wait to be seated. I'd definitely
recommend Mexico Tipico Restaurant! We were only in town for a day. Otherwise, I'd be there often.
After writing this.....I need some Mexican Food!!!

The wings were amazing!!! 10/10 the street tacos could have been better very plain. Didn’t have much flavor. The portion sizes were good. The service could have been better as well. There was only one server, I’ll give him a pass. Just would have been nice for him to be more welcoming. But towards the end of the visit he warmed up and actually made me laugh really hard. He was sweet probably just overworked. The wings really are cooked to perfection. Just need a little more seasoning in the tacos. Serve the tortillas warm please and I’ll be back.

It was mine and my families first time going, we looked it up on Google and decided to go! It di not disappoint. It was really good! The staff was so friendly and the food was delicious. I ordered the street corn and the vegetarian California burrito! Highly recommend going and checking it out!

Ate here today, for the third time. I decided to leave a review on it because it was just simply amazing! This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. It's clean,smells nice, and the food is amazing along with the service.

We had a party of thirteen and called in advance. Waitress was very patient with all of our orders and questions. Not a single complaint with anyone food, everything was great!

My sister and I ordered Fahitas for 2 they were $29 well you would have expected them to come out sizzling on the cast iron skillet, that wasn't the case. They looked like a serving for one person. Wasn't even hot. The beans and rice were cold. The only thing that was good was the frozen margarita I had.

Everything was good or great -- except the tomatoes in my fajita veggies (not good at all) -- but I give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️ because the bill included an extra $13-14 of charges that couldn't be explained. We didn't ask for extras of anything, not even extra chips and salsa. A 10% tax would have been just under $4. I gave server more than 20% tip on entire amount.

We like that they will do steak medium rare, but we don't like unexplained charges.

Original Mexican food. The best in town. It doesn't have Mexican decor, which might be a problem for those who like an atmosphere that matches the food. On the other hand, it seems clean, spacious and well lit.

We visited Tipico while vacationing in the area. We had several option for a Mexican restaurant and chose this one. The place was packed which is always a good sign for me. The food was awesome and so was the service. Highly recommend.

Original Mexican food. The best in town. It doesn't have Mexican decor, which might be a problem for those who like an atmosphere that matches the food. On the other hand, it seems clean, spacious and well lit.

The food is excellent and the service is always good. My favorite dinner is Pollo Fundido. It is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Prattville and there are more than a few here.

If I go in to sit down and eat a quesadilla and a cheese dip- I will be brought salsa for free. No questions asked. But if I order this over the phone for pickup, I’m told reluctantly that I can have a salsa. “It’s just one quesadilla but I can give you some salsa…” I paid almost $16 for a pickup order (the same thing I would have ordered IN the restaurant at a table and would’ve been given salsa with no hesitance) and was reluctantly given the world’s littlest portion of salsa. 2nd Mexican restaurant in town today that acted this way about it. Disappointing.

Restaurant was busy at dinner time. Got seated immediately and waited for a server for about 5 minutes. Ordered a beverage and Loka quesadilla with steak. Very good, combining rice and beans inside the quesadilla. Salsa was very good, chips were warm and crispy. First visit in 5 years, but will be back soon.

A big menu with really good food. The margaritas are really good. The moonshine margarita is my favorite and the jalapeno margarita is also really good.
The guacamole is really good and the Flan and the cheesecake chimichanga are both excellent.

I used to love this restaurant, but it doesn't taste like it used to. The portion sizes have shrunk while the prices go up. Can't say I'll be coming for anything but chips and salsa from here on out.

Enjoyed the entire lunch. The amount of service was perfect in that the staff was not bugging us constantly (basically trying to hurry you up). The food was perfect as it was not too spicy or too bland. The atmosphere was conducive to a pleasant lunch with an old friend.

Very welcoming and nice staff. The ambient is nice, although, too much lightning. Perhaps less lights and some music. The food was regular. The dip, tasty but cold. The plate was a torta and it was a two rating due to a soggy bread and bland meat. The steak and shrimp again a bit cold and over cooked. The guys at the bar a are service oriented!

Ordered Tacos de Carne Asada and the meat was bland and it was either boiled or steamed the steak--it was not grilled as it should be. Finally, they only provide one tortilla per taco which easily falls apart because everything is steamed. There are too many other Mexican restaurants in the area to pay for mediocre food. I will not be back.

Wow is all I can say. Everything was fresh and delicious. We had heard they were good but this was even better than I expected. Just wish I lived closer so I could go more often. Highly recommend!!!

I asked the waiter if the dish is spicy. He said no. But in the end it was so spicy that I couldn’t eat it.
In addition there are almost 7 microwaves in the kitchen. The food is not fresh but heated, very oily and does not taste good. Not worth the money or any money. Not quite sure why people like it.

We lived in Prattville many years ago and Mexico Tipico was one of our favorites. Sixteen years later and back in town for a day, we decided to eat lunch here. Still just as good as it ever was !
Some of the same people are still working there. Good service. Good food. Glad to see some things never change !

Had lunch with daughters while shopping in town today. I had eaten here with a friend once a few years ago, the decor has been nicely updated since then. We were greeted promptly upon entering and taken to our table quickly, chips and salsa arrived quickly. But waited a while for our drink orders to be taken. I got a mango daquiri and one daughter got a moonshine margurita. My drink was good, she said hers was ok. My younger daughter got orchata and she liked it. I ordered a regular taco salad (beef), one daughter wanted a vegetarian taco salad (there was a mix up and the first one brought out had steak on it but 2nd was correct) and youngest got a changa/flauta lunch special that came with salad. Food didnt wow us, it wasnt bad but it didnt have as much flavor as we would prefer. It was about 11:45 when we arrived so lunch crowd was there, service was kinda slow, so wouldnt recommend if you on lunch break from work, may not make it back on time. All in all it was not horrible but there are a few other Mexican places in town we have tried that we personally like better.

Older woman server was very rude and wouldn’t even look at me and my husbands IDs. We left no tip to go somewhere else to eat and just had the nachos. She decided to leave herself her own tip on our card. Have come here for years but never again. Would not recommend.
