We have eaten here since it began. The new owners do not have the same quality of food as before. Today is our last time eating here. The steak was tough and unchewable, the rice must have been leftovers. The chips were not the same crispy light texture as always. Since the prices are higher, including tea, $3.11 a glass, we will have to find a new Mexican cafe.

This was my first time visiting Baja California, and overall the experience went pretty well! There’s a wide variety of food to choose from. I ended up ordering the Burrito Loco (steak, chorizo, grilled onions and french fries all wrapped up and smothered in cheesy queso goodness). The lady ordered the carne asada. The food came out so quickly we were almost in disbelief, but it was delicious! Although, the beans could’ve used a bit more love and flavor. I had a tango margarita to go along with my meal, and the lady had a pomegranate one. If you’re hungry and in the area, Baja California is definitely worth a visit!

We have been coming here for the last couple of years & it keeps getting better & better. We used to be loyal to El Tapatio & only very rarely chose another Mexican restaurant, but each time we have eaten from Baja it has gotten better. So Baja has become our "go-to" place for Mexican. The food is fantastic & there is always enough for leftovers. Originally the only small complaint we had was the taste of the salsa but at some point they changed it & now the salsa is the best in town.

Best chips and salsa in town! There's plenty of seating here and it's spaced out pretty good. One my favorite dishes is the Fishing Trip. It's rice with steamed veggies and then topped with pretty much anything you can catch on a fishing trip: fish, crab and shrimp. Then they pour their special sauce and white cheese on top. It's very good!

Wonderful food. Very impressive. I had a steak burrito with beans and rice and my husband had the Chicken Rico. Fresh ingredients. Great service. Good prices. Beautiful place! Ask for Orlando!

This visit we ordered the flaming cheese with steak, it was good, the cheese was a little over powering after it melted, but overall, it was a lot of steak, onions, bell pepper and tomatoes for $11.00.
We also had the steak Mexicano. It wasn’t spicy like we expected it was ok. But the service was great as usual. And you can’t beat the prices.

This place charged my card twice. If you are going to have someone working there alone when it is even not busy have it be someone who actually knows what they are doing. When I called for help the manager wasn’t even there so no one could help me and they told oh sorry can’t do anything for you after THEY was the one who charged my card twice STEALING MONEY from a once loyal customer. Do not trust this place will never come back.

The fired chicken is frozen. They don’t cook it all the way so when I got mine it was already cut up and clearly not cooked all the way through. This was my first time trying this place and I see why it’s never busy. Don’t waste your time go somewhere else.

If I could give 0 stars I would smh I ordered Togo and came in waiting for food first person in long they act like they wasn't in rush to get to me but back there talking etc so another lady came in and they walked straight up and acted like they didn't see me and went straight to the other lady so yes I walked out bad customer service overall racist experience won't be back

From the first time coming here, roughly 3 years ago, I still have YET to have a bad experience. Great food, courteous and efficient servers, spacious and comfortable seating, HUGE variety of food options on the menu which is a plus because we have 3 children (who also love the food). A must for Gadsden, Rainbow City and surrounding cities to come to!

Attended reunion dinner a couple weeks ago. Our group was in a large gathering room along with another group (a birthday maybe?). The room was stifling!!! No air conditioning, no air circulation, a few small ceiling fans on low. The restaurant was busy and seemed to be under staffed. The servers could not keep up with the walk-in diners and the groups in the party room. It took almost two hours for everyone in our group to be served. They were bringing out one or two orders at a time. We couldn’t get silverware, napkins, straws, water, (watered down) soda, drinks and several complaints about wrong orders.The quesadilla that I had was the worst I’ve ever tasted! It looked ok, but it wasn’t seasoned and had a watery processed white cheese sauce (not real cheese). There was no acknowledgment or apology the uncomfortable room temperature, or poor service.
Please do better or don’t accept large parties. This was my first and last time patronizing this restaurant.

Food was ok. I was surprised though when i noticed tip of 17.5 was already included in the check. All of my party was leaving cash tip and i had to let them know they were already being charged for it. It would be nice that they would notify people its already included.

Went there Thursday, not May 25 we had called on Monday and told them we would be there with about 25 people at approximately 630 graduation ceremony got there it was not ready for us really not a big deal until they get us seated. Have one waiter. It took him 30 minutes to make drink orders and get them delivered and not everybody got theirs, never got menus to order off of found a cockroach in a glass of tea and cockroaches walking on the floor. When told the manager about this no big deal when the food came out it was all messed up. Lotta people to get what they ordered. Then when the ticket fee came out they charged us for what we ordered that we didn’t get. Did not want to take it off the bill will not go back. Will tell anybody that wants to know. I will do not go there. I’m calling the health department. to

I have been to many Mexican restaurants over the years and this place is in the top 10 of my list.
Food was excellent and so was the service.

I loved the food! The wait staff, even though it was a slow afternoon did an OK job, but our water ran out more than once, and the waiter picked something up from the floor before bringing our requested items without washing his hands. The atmosphere is a little Stark but what the have is beautiful. The music was on the loud side causing my lunch date and I to have to speak loudly to hear each other. All that said, the food makes the a place I would definitely want to come for again!

I am disappointed, big time! My chicken chimi was soggy and the meat is really stringy and chewy. 2 bites was all I take so I decided I would move on to desert... Deep fried cheesecake sounds amazing! Too bad it filled with a layer of nuts not mentioned in the detailed description. Thankfully I saw them before I ate it as I am allergic. I don't even need to explain how that could have turned out.
I will say that I also order the Steak On The Border for my son. It was perfectly cooked and tastes great too! Needless to say he cleaned his plate.
Maybe I just had bad luck tonight or I picked the wrong dishes? I do know that I spent a lot of money to still be sitting here starving.

Want to Baja California for lunch on Monday with my adult kids. So very disappointed that it has taken me a couple days to post. The service was average, the food, well that's was the disappointing part. My son ordered a double order of flaming cheese (he likes extra to bring home), in my opinion, this plate should have been full! I ordered Chicken Fajita Nachos and they were good, except that they chips were so sorry that it was like eatting paste. My day three had Chicken and Rice, it looked very good, she said it was good, until about 45 minutes later when she was it works & having issues from it. Also the price was ridiculous for lunch, WAAAYYYY to much!!! I know that we will not be going back!

Very good !! It wasn't very crowded which was very nice. I highly recommend it !! The chips are thin and crispy. Lots of their dishes have cheese sauce on them or in them. They have many tvs and a bar.

I ordered the steak fajita nachos and they gave me chicken instead. I'm not gonna complain about the quality because it was still amazing and the food took less than five minutes to get out to us. Amazing service!

Note: their White Russian is pretty strong. Vodka, Kahlua, and Bailey's. No regular liquid, all liquor.

This place is a hidden gem. Such great food, family friendly atmosphere and awesome, quick service! I got the baja bowl, it was big and delicious. We got a special cheese dip, with pico de gallo, queso, chorizo and it was awesome, not spicy unleas you ask. Thank you all for making our Mother's Day special. You are appreciated.

We were seated right away. Thr restaurant wasn't busy. We really liked the menu. They had some really different things on their menu. One item we couldn't figure out: cream salad. Any ideas? We forgot to ask. Service was fast. Food was good.

The food was good, however they did a price swap the server brought me the bill and when he brought the recipet it was eight dollars more without the tip. When called out on this he said he forgot to include the drinks on the first bill. I will pay what I owe but I felt he should have informed us before changing the bill. This is the second time this has happened here. The food is good the service is ok but pay attention to your bill.

Customer service is always great. Chips and salsa about as good as you can ask for as far as quick in and out Mexican. Would like to see a little better quality in cuts of meat for fajitas and sides like avocado slices in lieu of the generic guac puree.

I have never been served a fully cooked meal faster at a restaurant than at this establishment. The staff was all right however I did have to flag down a waiter a few times for condiments and utensils. Overall, great experience and good bang for your buck.

Order to take out of chicken fajita nachos. The flavor and spices are very good. The salsa is rather thick and not thin and the nachos go well with it.
I was a walk in and placed my order and got my food rather fast.
I would definitely recommend this place.

We had the lunch chicken fajitas and the lunch chicken and rice. Both tasted great. Huge restaurant, very nice inside. Huge bar. Big food portions. Plenty of room. You could easily sit a group of 10 at any time. Excellent
