El patron 5

It was our first time dining at El Patron but it will not be our last. The service was remarkable, we were greeted and seated almost immediately. The place was packed but lively and enjoyable. The servers are kind, helpful and fast. Everyone ordered something different so we were able to sample more of the menu. The guacamole casada is heavenly! We all had to take go-boxes home there was so much food left over. I ordered the Pechuga Mexicana and it was everyone's favorite. The tamales were a bit dry but my daughter did opt to forgo the red sauce. Overall we had a great time, ate authentic Mexican food in a colorful and vibrant atmosphere.

I’ll preface this with I’m rarely one to complain about food. If I order something and it’s wrong, I’ll eat it 9/10 times.

I ordered combination #10, I was supposed to get burrito, taco, w/ rice and beans. Instead I got whatever this is meant to be (this was the photo I took after it was set down, I hadn’t even had a bite mind you). I politely informed the waitress that my meal wasn’t what I ordered. She was kind and apologetic and said she’d go and check. She came back and informed me what I ordered wasn’t #10 (which I’m sure that’s the number I said as that’s what I get when I have eaten here) and that it didn’t come with rice and beans and couldn’t even tell me what the food I had before me was supposed to be. I tried to be nice but a little more firm but then was looked at like I was stupid so I told her “It’s fine, I’ll eat it.”

I took one bite and immediately almost spit it out. It smelled and tasted like dog food. I paid, tipped the waitress, and left.

Last time I ate there the food was great, hot and economical. I suspect that many of these larger Hispanic restaurants may buy special packaged meals and heat them, especially the lunch specials. I usually order these specials when I go into a Hispanic restaurant and meals are very similar. The food here was very good and I thought the serving was larger than other restaurants. The service was great and the atmosphere was a delight of colors to set a real Mexican atmosphere. I would certainly recommend them. Pre-lunch chips and salsa are always good.

El Patron is a fantastic spot for authentic Mexican food. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it perfect for both casual dinners and celebrations. Their tacos are delicious, especially with the fresh salsa, and the fajitas come sizzling and full of flavor. The staff is friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. If you’re craving great Mexican cuisine, El Patron is definitely worth a visit!

Our decision to eat here was last minute. We had just shopped at Walmart and were hungry. Our waitress was very nice and spoke clear English (not the case with our Lady serving the chips, nice but no English understanding). The chips were good but a little on the hard side...HOWEVER, the dip is NOT very good. My companion does not like tomatoes unless the are pulverized, and these were large chunks. I do not like to taste cilantro (I know, why do I eat mexican) and the dip was completely dominated by cilantro. No lie. Here's where it gets worse. The ground beef used in every dish we ordered had a taste like it had been cooked with dish water...very strange and off-putting flavor. The beans and the rice were on point. That's the food. The men's bathroom sink is a disaster! The faucet is literally so short for the vessel sink that it barely comes over the sink and rest on the inside of the bowl. NOT very sanitary! The restaurant is so small and the choice of furniture is so big that there is barely room for customers. Get a booth if available!!! Now the good news, the prices are fantastic! We ate for under $20. Including the tip of 15% (we always tip regardless of our experience because it's not the waitresses fault). You may have a better experience depending on your entrie choice. We will return, maybe for a chicken dish...lol!

The food was great, but the chips were burnt, and the salsa was lacking, However, the entrees were fresh. The service was good, and the waiters were nice. The bathrooms were clean and stocked with all appropriate toiletries.

Gabby was a very good waitress! I requested some cilantro to put in the salsa, which needed it. Our friend requested some lime and received a few small pieces of lime. I was charged $1.25 for the cilantro and ridiculously charged $1.50 for the small pieces of lime. If it hadn’t been for these two ridiculous charges, I would have rated my visit a five. Even though all of us are local, we won’t be back.

Gabby was a very good waitress! I requested some cilantro to put in the salsa, which needed it. Our friend requested some lime and received a few small pieces of lime. First time at this location and I can say I will not go out of my way to return. The server while present was unable to stay on task and had been be asked numerous times for simple things like utensils and napkins. The food came out and unfortunately was dry with limited flavor. Perhaps it was an off day but it was not a favorable experience.

I'm sharing pictures, I'm from Spanish Springs Nevada and I'm a well traveled person. My experience with this establishment has been a delight. Food excellent. Will be coming back when I visit my family. It was worth every penny. Love it. Thank you for the excellent service and dinner. Party of 2 with drinks.

Service is fast and friendly. The food is exceptional. It's always busy but it never affects the service or wait time for food.
The salsa looks soupy and gives the appearance it's okay, but don't be fooled by that, it's great! I recommend getting a side of queso and dip in salsa and the queso. Your taste buds will thank you.
I always get the fajitas with chicken and beef, there's plenty left over for lunch and dinner the next day.

Absolutely enjoyed our visit. The decor, service, food, everything about it was excellent. A friend and I went in just before happy hour and ordered water & sat looking at the extensive menu. When happy hour came, my friend ordered the first margarita she has had in years. It was a good 18 oz in what looked like a small flower pot. I ordered one as well, but because I was driving did not finish it. It was very good though. $3 off the regular price of $10.98 is very inexpensive compared to other places. The food - oh the food was so good. I had the seafood combo, which is seasoned tilapia & grilled shrimp, ssteamed vegetables, and rice. I'm not normally a rice eater but it all fit together so well, I finished most of it. We ordered Guacamole Casero and it was a larger portion than we expected for the price. It was very good as well. My friend (step-mom) ordered the shrimp in white sauce with guacamole salad & rice. She isn't a big eater but it was so good she finished most of everything as well.

Very surprised at the inside. Wasn’t expecting much from a strip mall right off the highway but it was very clean and the decor is amazing. Beautiful light fixtures, chairs, tables, and paintings. Food was appropriately priced and tasted good.

Food was terrible and service was even worse, steak was full of grissel. The manager did make it right, he said the cook hadn't been there but a couple of days. Since he tried to make it right i may give them another chance... maybe.

Went there for lunch and ordered the shrimp bowl. Our waiter Hector was very nice and very helpful. The salsa was very cold and needed some spice and cilantro. Hector gave us more cilantro and we used Tapatio from the table. The result was very good. The shrimp bowl was very good, ample serving and reasonably priced at $7.99.
We will return soon.
