The food was delicious and I loved the atmosphere! The only thing I would warn you about is that if you’re are hoping for authentic Mexican, this isn’t it. But aside from all that, place is amazing and the service is also great! I loved also that everything was so neat!

Con Huevos is a boutique restaurant in the heart of Trussville. The decor and ambiance are comfortable and relaxed immediately upon entry. My wife, daughter, and I enjoyed brunch here today. The ladies' mimosas were beautiful and tasty. My "Bloody Maria" was the best version of a Bloody Mary I have EVER had! The staff were each Very Friendly and the food was AMAZING! Their Mole Sauce is hands down the best I've ever tasted! Keep in mind this is a smaller venue serving fresh to order authentic Mexican food, not turn-and-burn cheaper fare. There might be a wait... it's WORTH IT!

Great atmosphere, love the background music, reminds me of my parents when I was a kid. We actually had a great conversation without raising our voices. And the food… what can I say, is delicious a unique taste and totally different than your regular Mexican restaurant.
Don’t forget to try the drinks, from the delicious Cafe de Olla served in a cup made out clay gives you that authentic Mexican flavor to any of the drinks from the bar, I promise you that you will not regret it. Overall, if you are looking for a different, original and Unique Mexican flavor you must come over and experience it yourself.

Incredible. Coming from Dallas, I was skeptical. But WOW. The omelet is so good...flavors explode from the natural ingredients...absolutely NO need to add salt or pepper. And do not miss the Mexican Café. Again...no cream or sugar needed. We will definitely bring friends visiting from Texas.

Introduction:
Nestled in the heart of Trussville, Con Huevos is a boutique Mexican restaurant that offers more than just a meal—it offers an experience. Drawn in by its stellar reputation for authentic cuisine, I ventured in expecting good food but left utterly amazed by the entire experience.
Ambiance and Setting:
Upon entering Con Huevos, I was immediately enveloped in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere that felt both welcoming and sophisticated. The decor is thoughtfully curated, featuring gorgeous murals and vibrant colors that are perfect for families and art lovers alike. The restaurant's smaller size contributes to an intimate dining experience, making it ideal for both lively gatherings and quiet breakfasts.
Service:
The service at Con Huevos is a highlight unto itself. Each staff member greeted us with warm smiles and maintained an attentive, friendly demeanor throughout our visit. Their passion for their work and the dishes they serve was evident, making our dining experience feel personal and cared for.
Menu and Offerings:
The menu at Con Huevos is a testament to authentic Mexican cuisine with a creative twist. It avoids the common 'turn-and-burn' approach of cheaper fare, focusing instead on quality and freshness. The options are diverse, catering to various dietary preferences without compromising on flavor.
Food:
The food at Con Huevos is nothing short of spectacular. The presentation of each dish was a work of art, complete with edible flowers—a rarity in Mexican dining. The chilaquiles in red sauce were the best I’ve ever had, and the mole sauce was unparalleled, rich and deep in flavors that are hard to find outside of Mexico. Even the cocktails and desserts were presented with an attention to detail that matched their delicious tastes.
Pricing:
Considering the quality, the pricing is very competitive. Con Huevos offers a finer dining experience at prices comparable to less distinguished venues. It’s an exceptional value for an exceptional meal.
Final Thoughts:
Con Huevos is a remarkable addition to Trussville's dining scene. From the edible flower garnishes to the hand-embroidered chair backs and stylish decor, every aspect of the restaurant shows a deep commitment to quality and authenticity. The open kitchen and cohesive team added to the charm, making our visit memorable.
Conclusion:
If you’re in the mood for exquisite Mexican cuisine served in a beautiful setting, Con Huevos is a must-visit. It’s a place where every dish tells a story and every bite is a delight. Highly recommended for anyone looking to elevate their dining experience without breaking the bank.

The atmosphere is great and love the decorations and music. But the menu is pretty boring and overpriced for what they are serving. We had chilaquiles and the salsa was very sour so we didn’t enjoy the food. Also its $6 for 6 oz kids orange juice? Not worth the cost, honestly people are over hyping it too much in this reviews but if they dont fix the food they wont be open long. Not coming back here honestly
Oh and the parking lot has no entrance?

Just curious Para Que, you reviewed this place and slammed it, but your other reviews are not made public? I would assume you are trying to make a false statement with your review by what you stated! Sad how people like you make false reviews on establishments. This is the REAL DEAL! I understand most Americans like their Chinese/Mexican/Italian food “Americanized”, but I for one don’t.
. The restaurant itself is breathtaking. The owners along with staff are so gracious and polite.
The food is absolutely 100% fresh and prepared the traditional way. I can’t say enough great things also about the bar/cocktails/bartender. Welcome to Trussville and glad you chose us for your gem!

I read the negative reviews before I came, and I was thinking maybe it wouldn’t be so great, so was a little nervous. Our experience was great! They take a long time to bring your entree and they give you time to enjoy apps and beverages. This isn’t from a lack of service, they are just giving you time and not trying to rush you out. The food was excellent. The service was warm and patient. It’s not the place to go if you want to quickly eat and be out within 45 minutes. It’s a place to go, sit a while and spend time with your friends/ family. I LOVE it. Also, the tomatillo salsa is served hot. So good!

The place itself is beautiful and the people are extremely kind. The food was fresh and tasted healthy. The biggest part I had trouble with was that I had a marg that was roughly 4 ounces & it was $14. Now don’t get me wrong it tasted great but as someone who will pay up to $20 for a single cocktail (if it’s amazing) this one didn’t seem to get close to being worth $14. 😪

If you want to go somewhere with a cool art comfy seating and cozy vibes this is great, if you are wanting comfort food this isn’t the place the palate is a desired taste of which I found quite lacking. Also the staff are plenty friendly but don’t expect a lot of checking in despite the small restaurant.

I've tried on multiple occasions to do a mystery shop and have been unsuccessful. Hours of operation vary, 30 % gratuity of party of 6 or more really hurt the business. I noticed the sign was regarding gratuity was removed but the community has spoken and will not support this business. Most family sizes in Trussville are 6 . Really was a waste of money /space in this restaurant. Will attempt another mystery shop soon

At the suggestion of my daughter & SIL, my husband and I came for breakfast. Kayla greeted us quickly and explained the menu. She brought us a sample of the 3 salsas and some chips-the dark one has a lot of depth of flavors w/o being super hot. My husband had the Huevos Rancheros & I had the BLT Benedict. Both were presented beautifully and were really filling. The poached eggs were IG worthy-both dishes were great! Highly recommend for breakfast-atmosphere is very calming.

So we were excited to try something new and coming from out of town. The chips and salsa were good and the beans. I had the Con Huevos torta with chorizo. It was good but pricey at $15. My wife had the flank steak tacos. The meat was dry and not good and $14. Our friends had quesadillas that were small and not much cheese. Server never came back to ask how food was. There are plenty of Mexican options in Trussville, disappointing for sure.

Was really pretty inside and they have nice presentation. Only problem was the service. Many of the employees are just standing there instead of checking up on you or asking if everything is okay. They also got one of our orders wrong. No communication between the staff and guests. Food was alright but wasn’t anything mind blowing.

This is a boutique "Mexican" restaurant. The food was ok, but very vanilla. No seasoning on the meats left it dry. No cheese in the meat quesadillas. Very frufru if you like that sort of thing. Tiny portions, especially the "dips" sampler. Interesting decor. Probably won't go back.

Wait and try later, they're not ready. I just tried to have lunch. I saw clean tables available but they weren't seating anyone. No acknowledgement or explanation from the hostess who looked miserable. After about 20 minutes the people first in line left and so did I. You can only make 1 first impression. I hope they can get it together soon.

The food is really really bland 🫤 has no seasoning. And it’s kinda expensive for food like that, it’s so pretty inside, from the cups and plate, very Mexican. It has potential to be popular, it just need better cooks tbh :( I really wanted to like it here, I do but it’s just not worth spending 100$ just for bland disappointing food and drinks that feel like I ordered a virgin drink. I’m Mexican and this is not how our food taste :,( I’m sad I didn’t like it

I passed this place by several times and never gave it a thought. We are very new to the area. My wife being Mexican laughed at the name and said let’s go see what it’s about. We walked in not knowing what to expect as we didn’t even research it or looked it up on Google. I’m sure glad I didn’t. If you’re looking for your typical turn and burn run of the mill Mexican or Texmex. This AINT IT! You will however be treated to a unique culinary experience that will delight those whom have “been around”. Yes, the first impression can be interesting as it’s small, yet elegant with a touch of sophistication and an elevated ambiance. The linen and table cloths were a welcoming surprise as well. I could tell immediately we were not in your average Mexican restaurant as soon as I walked in. The menu was my second confirmation. My wife and I ordered 3 breakfast so we could share plates and explore. Glad we did. Looking into the open kitchen was also confirming my thoughts. The line seem to work well together. I could tell they were cooking to order and not throwing slop together. When the food arrived I was taken back by the beautiful presentation. You don’t get eatable flowers in Mexican restaurants. The food looked like a work of art and tasted even better. The chilaquiles in green sauce were the best I’ve ever had. I’ve had Mexican food in many countries and all over Mexico. As soon as I started eating all kinds of bells were ringing in my head. This again was not the run of the mill joint. This is fresh made food (not frozen) in the Mexico City style. I couldn’t contain myself and asked the server about it. She confirmed the owner (chef) is from Mexico City and they don’t even have a freezer on the premises. Come on folks. When was the last time you had fresh food in a Mexican restaurant? Some complain about the time it takes to get the food. If you want fast go to Taco bell. I’ll never complain when a restaurant is serving me authentic food with quality ingredients. My recommendation is to taste life and enjoy the ride at “con huevos”!

My boyfriend and I have been twice and each time was terrible unfortunately. The first time we went a week after they opened so of course we expected delays and kinks. Upon entering we were told the wait was 10 minutes so we waited (but noticed no one had food yet…first red flag), but we were optimistic. After being seated we waited another 10 min for drinks and the starters/chips nd dip. There was confusion on who our waiter was so we had 2 diff waiters AND the poor hostess asking what we wanted to drink even though we’d explained we ordered drinks already. After like 30 min we finally ordered food, waited for another 30 min for them to come out and tell my boyfriend they ran out of avocado for his avocado toast😅he was pissed b/c itd been an hour nd a half WITHOUT FOOD at that point but I begged him to stay. That sums up that visit. On our SECOND VISIT, which was a month later, we entered, was told wait was 20 min, waited, got to our table, ordered drinks (which again took 15 minutes) and then when we finally got to order the waiter told me they were out of chilaquiles…which is literally chips, salsa and eggs…at that point I was frustrated and told him just forget it and we left. Id love to go back because there are no Mexican brunch spots that are as nice as this one but 2 times in a row SO spread out apart dealing with terrible service, missing food items (when the menu has like 12 dishes💀), and waits so bad you notice EVERYONE in the restaurant is looking around perplexed is unacceptable.

We were greeted by two different serves, they were not organized. I asked for water with lemon to drink and the girl had no idea what it was so I had to explain. They said they had no salsa of any kind and basically everything in the entree melas are included with salsa so all the items were going to be Dry I had the tacos dorados with chicken they brought out meat tacos it was super dry with no seasoning so it was flavorless I had to drink out of my water to swallow my food 1/10. My boyfriend had a mimosa was not good at all, not worth $16 neither. Definitely not coming back.

Everything about this dining experience was absolutely amazing, the service was on point. I’m glad to have a true Mexican restaurant in Trussville, it’s so hard to find amazing brunch restaurants anywhere and this is my favorite one now, It’s a beautiful restaurant and the food is just as beautiful and tasty.

Beautiful surroundings with a loving staff. The food was also great and prepared with love. Highly recommend.

I was so excited to try this new restaurant out. The food was terrible, I really tried to give it a chance but food is not authentic and was very dry and rubbery. The drinks are over priced . The service could have been better. Server didn’t check in until we got our food and seemed they avoided us until we got our check. It was very disappointing paying for expensive food and still not being satisfied.

Es demasiado la espera 45 minutos y realmente no vale la pena. It's long to wait 45 minutes really it's not worth it.

A beautiful new addition to Trussville. Both the food and service were great and the restaurant is beautiful! They do a great job with presentation and take time to care for their customers.

Limited menu. More of a brunch type menu.

The service was great. Matthew gets five stars for his service. There’s a bit of a wait for food so come in and relax, but if you’re in a hurry you might need to go elsewhere. The food is not like the typical Mexican restaurant around here in the South, but it’s more like traditional Mexican food. In other words don’t ask for the cheese dip. I liked my selection of food but my partner wasn’t enamored with his selection. But we both liked the real quesadilla with pork that’s made from a homemade tortilla and shredded pork.
The ambiance and decoration of the restaurant is really nice. The restrooms were very clean which is always a plus.

From the time we arrived to the time we left was 2 hours! Staff was very friendly but very scarce. We only waited 15 min. to be seated. Hardly got refills. Drinks were good but very small. Food was ok but not worth the money and wait.

They’re new so I’m only doing this review to help them progress. I’ll return soon and give them a 2nd chance and hopefully this issue is taken care of. Place was slammed busy and they handled it well. My issue is the No glove handling of food in the kitchen. I’ve owned restaurants in Alabama and this is not only gross but a Health department violation. Man on grill was eating food as he cooked ( major no no) and his side help female takes all the food directly to your plate with her bare hands no gloves. Food is precooked and taken from prepped bin to your plate with hands.. bare sweaty nasty hands. We canceled our order and left. This is my only complaint. Had they followed health department rules I’d give them 5 stars. Kitchen is wide open for all to see.

Oh where to start! Yes they are new but without feedback they don't know what to fix. Upon entering we waited 5-10 minutes before being acknowledged, the bartender was attentive for starter drinks, order finally taken after 30 minutes, food took about 45 minutes to get, but ticket arrived quickly. We ordered right off the menu without changing anything. Total visit was over 2 hrs & food was mediocre at best for the price you pay. We'll give them another try in a few months when it settles down 🙄

We went on their 4th day, so we expected some startup issues. We were there right at lunch, so the wait was long to get a table and the food was slow to come after we ordered, but it was sure worth the wait.
The taste and quality of the food was outstanding and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Beautiful murals cover the walls with exotic themes.
This is not your common TexMex restaurant, so don’t expect lots of chips and cheese covering the table. It’s gourmet Mexican and the portions are smaller, but so artfully presented.
We witnessed some disgruntled customers and frankly, if they never come back, it will be a welcomed addition to the eating experience.

Food is good, but not worth the wait. We arrived to a 35-45 minute expected wait, gave our phone number, and stepped out to browse a nearby store. We came back after 20 minutes to find that the people behind us were already seated and we were never called. After being seated, it took over an hour to get our food. The server never offered to refill our drinks, and only paid attention to us after we flagged down the hostess to get drinks and check on our food order. If the kitchen cannot handle the number of tables they have, they should limit their capacity so customers do not have to wait an hour for their food, as we were not the only table to be waiting this long.

I came here today for lunch. We walked in at 11:30 and it was pretty packed so we sat at the bar. It took over an hour to get our food. The food was very fresh and the chips and salsa is a nice touch because you get to try 4 different kinds. I would say the food is definitely more authentic Mexican than anywhere else you can find in Trussville, I just hope they are able to fix the timing and get the food out quicker.

Amazing food, great music, and amazing customer service. Came here for a nice breakfast and my mind was blown. This food was amazing and a great place to bring your friends and especially your family. The gorgeous walls and murals are amazing for children to admire.
