Chabely's Mexican Grill

Me and my wife kept saying we needed to try this place and would always forget about it until one night. I have to say some of the best food I’ve had at any Mexican restaurant plenty of flavor, lots of variety. Since first trying this place we have been back multiple times and every single time with the same exact customer service no matter the time. All of the staff are happy with good attitudes and even humor. The cocktails are nice as well. Definitely a place with great food for a great price. We have for sure found our new go to spot.

We eat here about once a month. The food is prepared with consistency. The servers are prompt and friendly.
Our favorite dishes are: shrimp tacos, fish tacos, tacos darados, and marinated salad (which comes with some menu items and is very tasty)!
*The fish tacos come with a side of sauce that's fairly warmed over. I always pair them with an ice-cold Modelo Especial or Victoria!

Friends from work brought me here. Since then, I've come back several times. It's a wonderful place. Service is awesome. the food is great( I haven't had anything I haven't liked). Prices are good, with unlimited salsa and chips too.

Tasty traditional menu. Prompt, friendly server. Had the combo fajitas and the large side of guacamole. Out of town visitor in the area for work. I would definitely return.

Great place to eat, fajita salad was off the chain. A guy told me if I didn't like it he would pay for it, needless to say I bought my own meal that day. Servers were very attentive, dining room was clean, restrooms were clean. I would highly recommended if you're looking for Mexican food in the Cottondale area.

I live in Birmingham but any time I'm in the area, stopping at Chabely's is a must!
Excellent food and generous portions.
Their Chimichangas are ginormous compared to others.

Doors shut and locked with shutters drawn in the middle of lunch on a weekday. Hours must not be correct, but we went out of our way to come here.

This place was recommended by the hotel staff.

Great little family owned gem in Cottondale, AL. We always have excellent service and the price is great for the value and quality of the food. The dining room is a little tight, but it is expected as it is a small building, but overall the atmosphere and decor is charming.

My wife and I have eaten here for many years. By far our favorite Mexican restaurant in Tuscaloosa! The food is always consistent and service is most of the time quicker than an average fast food restaurant.

Peter and Rafael are our favorite waiters. The owners always converse with us and make us feel at home. There’s Chabely’s, then everyone else!

Ordered fajitas, came out half cooked, sent it back to be cooked thoroughly. Came back within 3 minutes sizzling. Next day I got so sick from the chicken not properly cooked. NEVER EAT CHICKEN FROM MEXICAN RESTURANT AGAIN.

Have eaten here for many years, foods great, service is great, prices are pretty good. If you want a quick pickup meal get some dirty rice, I get steak and shrimp dirty rice a few times a month on the way home from work.

Margarita had too much sour mix, asked for lime with salt, no salt. Chicken in quesadillas tasted bland like from a can. Then charged $3.75 for lettuce on top of the cost of the quesadilla!! Extremely disappointing.

The food is great . But they do not tell you and if you ask they say no they don't but look at the receipt they charge you a carrying fee if you pay with a credit card or debit card. And deny doing it . if you show them then they can't do anything about it . THAT IS THE CREDIT CARD Company and no it is not that is what the credit card company charges you for using there card

If you have the opportunity, PLEASE do yourself a favor and visit this place. Staff are always super friendly and the food is ALWAYS incredible. I am on the Keto diet and always get the Fajita Bowl, it’s incredible. There are a few different places to choose from when it comes to Mexican food in Cottondale, but this is is, in my opinion, the best.

I used to go to Chabely's weekly, but now live further away. I got to go today and it was wonderful, as always. I don't know what they season their chicken with, but I haven't tasted anything close at any other Mexican restaurant. The Chile Relleno is to die for; as is the chipotle sauce. And the prices are reasonable too. Also, celebrate your 21st birthday there and they give you a shot. ;)

The food was okay but nothing to scream about, had an ENCHILADA dinner plate of 3, the chicken was dry almost as though they pulled it out the out the fridge then stuffed the ENCHILADA without any spice or pizzas to it. My first and only visit.

Chabely's is great. The food was awesome. The service was awesome. The price was reasonable. The restaurant appeared very clean. The food was delicious. I had the daily special Bowl which was filled with chicken and steak on a bed of Mexican rice. It was so good. It came with diced tomatos, lettuce, sour cream, and tortillas.
We had daddy daughter date night and my daughter really enjoyed her meal too.
The margaritas here are pretty strong and they have 4 different sizes. Two 16oz about did me in. Haha!

Delicious food and friendly employees and atmosphere make for an enjoyable meal and time with friends.
Only have one issue,I ordered a diet coke with my meal,and they initially brought me a mixed drink that had an alcoholic drink and diet coke in it.

We lovee Mexican food and decided to give this restaurant a try while we were in town for a week. My fiance got the Chabely Tacos I believe (can't really see them, but they're in the background of pic) He Raved about them due to the flavor of the steak. I can agree as I ordered (can't remember the name) but, a steak burrito that included onions, jalapenos, tomatoes and originally would be topped with shredded cheese but I swapped it with the queso sauce instead. It was EXCELLENT. Okay, so if you eat at a lot of tex-mex places like we do, then I am sure you've noticed the steak is super similar at all of them-- bland on it's own-- but onced mixed with everything then it is still tasty. Well, the flavor of this steak stood out from about 95% of the Mexican places we've dined in. It was just delicious. We would eat here again if we were here longer. Also, wonderful service. We were checked on by our server and I believe to be the manager or owner several times. Nothing but smiles from all of them. I think we spent a little over $30 for all plus 2 beer/water before tip. Free tortilla chips were super crunchy and not thin- salsa similar to most but not super chunky. The place is small but it definitely felt like the most authentic Mexican we've had in a while. Thumbs up from us! (Wish we wouldn't have been so full because the fried ice cream a server walked passed us looked insanely awesome!)

The salsa was warm and decaying right before my eyes... Literally bubbling. The food was meh.... The worst part was the horrible gas and hours on the toilet later. The margarita was definitely over poured on the tequila and was heavy handed on the salt (the margarita was definitely the highlight of the meal)

I like simple Mexican food. Though Chabely's has a full variety of Mexican dishes I like a simple enchilada, cheese, chicken or beef plate with beans and rice and at a good price. If you like Mexican food you should enjoy Chabeĺys 7 days a week.
