Love Jalapeños! This is one of our favorite places to go for good food, good service and a warm, friendly atmosphere. We have several favorites. Pork belly tacos, Dirty Rice, Chimichanga, Fajitas and the new menu item, Maicitos. You can’t go wrong here.

This was a nice place! The food was good and the service was fine. Reasonably priced too. I give it four stars. Don't expect the greatest waiters, though they do a fine job.

Drinks weren’t refilled chips weren’t refilled NO ONE asked if we needed help. Two parties who were seated after us, ordered after us left before us. Our server just didn’t come back. Trash trash all the way around. I would give it zero stars if that was an option. Saw our server twice he had on gloves the entire time. Just horrible if it wasn’t for good company I would have clowned. ZERO OUT OF FIVE.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in Tuscaloosa. Great margaritas, good food, and fast service. The “Dirty Rice” dish with grilled veggies is my favorite. The place is always crowded, but there’s never a wait.

Nothing really fancy and food or atmosphere. Basically just convenient. Shrimp tacos are exceptional. Other than that keep track of your credit card, which might be taken and tried to use at the local Walmart. Seriously. Happened.

Is it new policy to make 3 customers share one 4 ounce ramekin of salsa when 3 meals were ordered? Gross. I won't be back anytime soon. You can keep your health violations to yourself. Two stars because the quesadilla was good at least. Yes, I called first, thinking it was a mix up. Management said that 4 ounces was what you get with a take-out order even if 12 meals were ordered.

I had a horrible experience here. Ordered a vegetarian meal and confirmed several times that there would be no meat. But alas, it did contain meat. While paying, I politely informed the hostess, who did apologize but also said, "I don't cook. Did you send it back?" as if the whole thing was my fault. Again, horrible experience, food and service wise. Never going back and would never recommend.

Was treated as if I didn’t matter in this location, waited nearly 5 minutes to be seated, and the hostess seemed irritated that she had to sit me. Waited nearly 10 minutes for the waiter just to get my drink order, had to stand up to even be noticed by him. I will say he brought the food and drinks in a good time, but didn’t check on me again for nearly 20 minutes while he talked to the hostess and played on the phone. I won’t be back and the bad thing the food is really good. This is not the first time I was treated this way here but it will be the last

Friendly staff but very slow service and the food is not very good. We both ordered the shrimp fajitas and while they give a lot of shrimp, the flavor was extremely bland, with little flavor or seasoning. Neither of us ate much and didn't want to go box for the leftover. Same issue with the salsa, very bland. We had to ask multiple times to get one refill of our drinks. When we were done eating, we had to wait around 15 minutes to get our check. Friendly people but prefer to not eat here again.

Waitress gave us pitchers instead of cups to drink from. They weren’t out of cups, as you could see other people getting cups. I’m not sure, but I felt like it was due to my weight.

When asked to bring us cups, she only brought one to my boyfriend.

She was also very inattentive.

We will no longer be attended this location.

I've always had a great experience here except today. Our server brought our drinks to our table in pitchers instead of glasses. When I asked for regular glasses she brought one to the table. She also tried to take our order while my girlfriend was in the bathroom away from the table and seemed annoyed that i asked for more time.The Verde burrito I ordered had all the beef on one end and all the beans on the other and very little Verde sauce on top.

I've been to Jalapeños several times and the food is always fantastic, so I was excited when I learned they also do catering. They just catered my small wedding and the food was a big hit! Everyone loved the tacos, fajitas, and fajita gumbo. The food arrived on time, was piping hot, and absolutely delicious. Thank you Jalapeños for making our special day extra delicious!

Very upset today at Jalapeno's. I usually love this place and the crew. But, today the service was awful, we did not get our chips and salsa until we flagged someone down, then after eating some of it, there was a hair in our salsa, the manager was not friendly, the margarita had a bad lime in it that looked like it had been sucked and the manager never said he was sorry about the hair and never checked on us. We had to hunt him down. We even needed our table cleaned up after a slight spill and no one came over. The hostess was not kind either when we told her what happened. She was quit rude. Today is 11/10/23 at 12:30. We would have at least liked an apology or our meal or margarita's comped. Very disappointed and not sure we are going back and we have been going at least 3 to 4 times a week. It has defiantly become our place, not sure now.

My salsa had a hair in it and the lime in the margarita was spoiled! The waiter, which I found out is the manager, was inattentive and seemed unbothered about the condition of the food or lack of service! No apology about the hair or even an offer to make it right! Very disappointed!

Beautiful restaurant. Laid back.
The service here is much like watching an Alabama football game this season: slow to start, then in the 2nd half, it picks up steam and finishes well.

Every meal I've had here has been very good & well priced. Unfortunately, my fellow diners have not been agreeing with me.
I notice that they order more traditional dishes covered in rice, beans & cheese.
I, on the other hand, order seafood and freshly made fajitas. Neither of which have had rice, beans nor cheese. Again, everything I have ordered has been great and the Fajita gumbo is delicioso!!!

First timer for my family and overall was pleased. I had the Fajita Salad which was rich in flavor with chicken being very tender and tasty. Fajita Gumbo was way too spicy with shrimp being undercooked so do not recommend. The service by our waitress and price was great but had to give an overall 3 due to young and irritable hostess and overly spicy food which included next day symptoms.

Cute restaurant and the drinks were good but the food was not good. The meat was very dry and bland, my shrimp taste like fish and had little to no seasoning. Chips were stale and the guacamole had no flavor, when I expressed these things to the waiter she just shrugged her shoulders..very rude. She also let our drinks sit empty after walking by our table several times and not refilling. She also didn’t discount our food after we openly expressed it wasn’t good and we weren’t going to eat it.

I have tried this restaurant several times now and am generally disappointed. The ground beef in the tacos were tasteless. Shame really as the physical location and the staff are good.

Upon arrival we felt as though we were an inconvenience. Host said nothing, grabbed menus and sat us. We waited at least 20 minutes before we were even acknowledged and then the waitress just asked what we wanted. No personality. After finishing our meal we waited at LEAST 30 minutes for our check.
Two of us, out of the four in our group, work at a restaurant and know how to treat people. This was way below standard. Being nice costs nothing and is no extra work.
We will not be back.

I can’t say enough about the fajita gumbo. Actually I’ve had most the menu and still haven’t found something I don’t like. Margaritas are amazing. Service is hit or miss depending on how busy it is - and your waiter. The food is always amazing.

Food was good but our service was horrible. I had to go inside and ask our waiter for drink refills and he still didn't come for a while after that. One of the people in our party didn't get her food (a cheese quesadilla) until after everyone else was pretty much done eating. The service was just horrible.

The food was delicious. Standard sit down Americanized Mexican restaurant. Service was on point. I do have a small complaint: this is the third time I have a been recently that there was no music or if there was it was so quiet you couldn't hear it.

The reason that is a problem is that the noise of all the surrounding clashing conversations was very intrusive and overwhelming. It was like sitting in a crowded middle school cafeteria. My son experienced pretty intense sensory overload. Please bring back the fun Mexican music, or any music, really. Thank you!

The waiter walks so slow like he really hated his job, his feet dragged the ground as he walked. My food arrived 10 minutes later he said the plate was hot, but the food was cold. I ordered the burrito supreme. The burrito was cold. The plate wasn't too hot either. Won't be back thank you! Oct.25, 2021 I called in a Burrito Supreme was told 15 minutes. Got there no food. Hostess went to kitchen came back. I told her that I was going to write a review and she hurried back to kitchen. Had to wait another 15 minutes. It was thrown together and COLD! Pic below.

So good! Had it for lunch today and wow, definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants that I've been to. Lady at the front was so sweet, our server was fast and on top of it, and the place overall is just great.
