La Hacienda El Méxicano

This is a cheaper Mexican type of restaurant. The food is decent but not excellent, the service leaves much to be desired, and the location is ok but not great. Their terrace is nice, and had our waiter not been kinda rude I might have stayed longer and grabbed a drink. As it is, I don’t really need to come back here. I could see young students flocking to cheap Mexican and not caring about the bad service though. Frankly you can much better Mexican food and service elsewhere in town for the same price.

Very flavorful food, however, very few truly spicy options as their jalapeños appear unusually mild. This may not be the case now as I did bring this to the attention of management. I ordered the fajita nachos which were very filling.

This is much better than I expected, but I came in with basically no expectations as I had never heard of them. I'd eat there again if I were near it but I won't go looking for it without better spicy options. I've attached pictures here.

Unfortunately I didn’t have the best experience at this Mexican restaurant. The restaurant is in disrepair (broken seats and tarps out) and the food is below average in taste.

On the bright side, the prices are about average for the area, they have parking, and the food came out in a timely manner.

Decent Mexican restaurant; menu had standard fare as you would expect. Price was good. Only real issue is everything had sooo much salt. Service was adequate at best. Don't expect much conversation in English or Spanish.

Went here twice (once with my SO, once by myself.) Service is so so, they get enough business that they don't really need to be super nice, it's also crowded every night so I get why they aren't super happy all the time. Price is respectable and food is good. Would go here again

I have dined in and enjoyed this place, normally they’re quite friendly and there’s music playing- food & drinks are good. Recently, I ordered a togo order and paid $5.75 for a regular queso… was very shocked whenever i arrived and it was a sauce container size cup full of cheese. Other than that I enjoy this place a lot!

The best part is the chips and salsa. This is literally the worst mexican food I've ever had. I tried the enchiladas and tacos, and both were just bad. Taco bell tastes MUCH better and costs less. Inside you'll find a room packed full of college kids and loud tasteless music. If it weren't for the college crowd, this place would be out of business.

First time in Tuscaloosa, so I goggled Mexican Restaurants and La Hacienda was one of them. For our surprise the food was great. I ordered steak fajita Nachos and the portion was big. My daughter ordered a torta Al pastor and she liked it. We had a really good experience at the restaurant.

If I can give this place a -1 I would. Food was absolutely disgusting and did not finish the food and taste like rubber and the drinks where ok nothing to brag about. Took literally one bite out of the taco and when I told them I was unsatisfied with the meal they told me “They don’t care” and that I still had to pay for the tacos or police will be called on me. I never in my life ever had this happen to me. Worse place in Tuscaloosa hands down!!!!!!!!’

My family all really liked this place. It's in a nice location, easy to get to for being that close to the strip. They had the usual Mexican fare with a few items tou don't see elsewhere. We will definitely be going back.

They were very rude and then charged me $55 for a $5 transaction. When I called them about the fraudulent charge, they hung up on me immediately. Just go somewhere else.

Absolutely Amazing! Great prices! Great family friendly location. I had a Strawberry Baby Pitcher Margarita that I couldn't finish. Definitely add a extra shot to make it stronger. Steak was a bit chewy. But other than that great service.

*As we left a gentleman did walk out the back and take a piss! He had on a apron, I really hope this was not the cook! Maybe dishwasher but definitely had me thinking 🤔

Hands down the WORST restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Don’t come here! The owner was SO rude. He messed up my order and told me I didn’t order what I said I ordered. Gave me the wrong food and refused to give me what I ordered. Literally the worst experience I have ever had.

SO RUDE! I asked the waiter for a water, he put his hand in my face while I was speaking. I let it go because I assumed he was just stressed about the big crowds coming in. We were only there 10 minutes when He would not allow any of us to order anything else off the menu and brought us our tickets as soon as we got our food. I expressed to him it was rude and he shoo’d me away. He charged all of our cards for incorrect totals and when we asked him to correct the issue, he refused to fix the problem. I asked another worker to help address this issue and he ran over to us while we were talking and cut me off so I wouldn’t tell on him. I don’t know why he was so rude. Maybe having a bad day? But I will never be back. Food was yummy tho.

My coworkers and I had a terrible experience here today. The food was o.k. at best but the service was terrible. You could definitely tell one of the workers had an illness (FLU, COVID, etc.) and was taking medicine at one of the tables. Also, after an unfortunate accident with one of my coworkers getting treated badly, no one apologized or offered a discount on the food. The cleanliness, service, and environment are not desirable.

Terrible customer service. The waiter seemed in a rush and while placing hot fajitas on my table they sent them flying all over my lap, ruining a pair of over $100 pants. I didn't want to make a big fuss over anything, but not a single person in the establishment seemed even slightly apologetic for ruining my clothes. Then, when I was given the bill, I asked the manager if there was any slight discount I could receive(even a free drink would suffice) and they looked at me, laughed, and said “no”. Then as I was paying my bill they began to laugh and look at me speaking Spanish. I might not know the language but I definitely can tell when people are talking about me. I’m not one to write reviews like this but me and my coworkers have been going here for a while and the way I was treated today was absolutely unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go to this restaurant. I honestly wish I could give them zero stars but unfortunately, I can’t. Save the money and go to a better place like Los Tarascos.
