I was amazed at the quality of this restaurant when me and my husband decided to eat here. Our waiter was Tyquan H. and I must say that we were impressed with his customer service skills. The atmosphere was great, and we highly recommend the food. The food prices were reasonable. The food was very fresh, and it only took approximately 10 minutes when we received our food. I have put Los Tarascos as our favorite spot on the best restaurants in Tuscaloosa and we will be returning back on a weekly basis. 5 stars and a A+ restaurant, plus kid friendly.

We had a large group setting. And the location is ideal. Not crowded. And the food and service were good. I had the gumbo which was different from regular gumbo but turned out to be extremely good. Portions were large. Everyone seemed to be pleased with what they got. Would highly recommend.

Best tacos I've ever had !!! Me and my husband were making our way back home from Texas and they were even kind enough to find us a table with outlets so we could charge our phones. Love this place if we are ever passing through again we'll be sure to make a return visit.

Visited on Monday evening and entered without waiting. Two adults ordered and shared a portion of shrimp quesadilla and a fajita for one, which was enough to eat without leaving much food behind, even though my friend and I are not big eaters. If you're a big eater, adding an appetizer might be a good idea. Unfortunately, I couldn't take a picture of the menu, but I'll do it next time I visit. Our table's server was very kind with a bright smile, frequently checking if we needed anything throughout the meal. I wanted to mention the server's name in the review but couldn't find it on the receipt; it just said 'training'. During our meal, I saw the staff singing a birthday song to someone at another table. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere, so if you want a low-key birthday dining, it wouldn't be a bad choice.

Best tacos I've ever had !!! Me and my husband were making our way back home from Texas and they were even kind enough to find us a table with outlets so we could charge our phones. Love this place if we are ever passing through again we'll be sure to make a return visit.

Typical mexican restaurant. Not authentic food. It is american mexican. Fajitas were way overcooked as far as the meat. All very dry. My rice was cold and beans barely warm. Service is not great... they do not check on you. Place is very dim and dark and appears old and dirty. We will try a different Mexican option next time.

Everything was great but only had one problem. Why is it that it was hot inside we told the waiter but it was hot when we arrived and hot when we left. This was one of the reasons we stopped going to another Mexican restaurant. If you have been hot all day you sure do not want to eat in the heat.

I grew up eating here as a teen many years ago when they were at their first location and when they took photos and posted them up (had a photo of mine up), and the food has been just as great since the beginning. It's rare to find a quality Mexican restaurant and I can only speak of two I know, this one and Chula's which has closed down in Panama City, unfortunately. Look forward to eating here regularly.

All we did was drink at the bar and because I paid for the three pictures they charged me an 18% gratuity... We never ordered food, She did not tell him the gratuity was added. I tipped her an additional $25 on the card, And gave her $20 in cash...

Beware when the restaurants use that clover device.. always ask for a detail. Bill...

If I was given a bill I would have seen the gratuity and I wouldn't have been tricked and just tipped her another 45 bucks..

And as soon as she got the money she disappeared, I complained to another bartender... And she did. The standard thing is "oh I'm so sorry but she left for the evening" and she's off...

I say again beware when they just throw that love clover handheld device in your face... Because they're trying to hustle you..

Very disappointed, that a Mexican restaurant will never get my money again.

It is very disappointing, That the immigration policy in the United States allows other countries to come and take part in the American dream and give them opportunities and gratuities to start their own business... Where as if you were born here you're not given the same grave..

We ate here today for lunch and the price listed for the special was $8.90. When we received our ticket it said $9.25. The manager presented TERRIBLE customer service as he refused to rectify his mistake at all and continued to blame the staff for writing the wrong price. He would not discount the price or apologize, he just continued to claim there was nothing he could do about it. Y’all should really find new management that can take accountability and actually fix the issues that happen within the restaurant.

We eat out often, now that we live full-time in an RV, and when we want Hispanic food, Las Tarascos is our go-to restaurant. The food is always delicious, prepared fresh and in good quantities. My wife an I often split an entrée because there is so much! Highly recommend the Queso Fundido w/ chicken, steak & shrimp!

I have been going here for years and never had a problem. I came here for lunch. When the food came, it was cold. I waited for 10 minutes and never saw my waitress. Another server came by and I told him about the cold food. He said he would take it off and bring me new food. He brought me food that had obviously been reheated in a microwave and the food was dried out. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was going to give me a discount. When I went to pay for the food, there was no discount given. I had to pay full price for food that I barely touched. I told him he lost a customer and he acted as though he could not care less. I will not be going back anytime soon.

Eating a late lunch, ordered a Long Island iced tea. The glass is full of soap. This is not a Long Island iced tea. It looks like a margarita with a corona in it and lime. It’s the nastiest thing that ever tasted. I asked if they could swap it out for something different. He was told no they do not take back drinks and then I learned as a $15 drink that will I will be paying for that sitting here on my table that’s full of sides that they won’t know nothing about.

I wasn't a fan of Los Torascos before because their booths are uncomfortable. On this last visit, the margaritas had way too much sour mix. Add to that the menus are ridiculous, being assembled with key rings and on a landscape format. Flipping over and over and over was obnoxious (3 pages front and back). That many pages and what feels like not a lot of options. You could have fit all that information on 1 - 2 pages in a portrait format.

Well for years ive went to los toroscos in northport tuscaloosa skyland normally too packed so just order my favorite food their toroscos nachos tonight ordered same as alway no jalapenos no lettuce no pico and no sour cream well the girl comes quick and food looks great till i see lettuce wasnt gonna say anything and was going to pick it off well after doing so and it starting to get cold my first bite i taste sour cream ask someone for my waitress she apologises and says shell get the manager he comes assures me he watch it being made no sour cream well first bite again sour cream left my tip asked someone for my waitress to bring ticket paid and left will not spend another dime of my hard earned money there once a week if i can try to eat something decent tonight even decided to go sit and eat trying to get over my social anxiety well when someone lies dead to my face it burns me so vs simply bringing me a plate with correct food youd prefer to lie to someones face i left burning and as much as ive always loved los toroscos and their toroscos nachos being my favorite i will not be back cause a mans only as good as his word you could have fixed things easily yet prefer to bold face lie to someone i will not spend another dollar there foods always decent but if u dont have morals cant be honest no point in me being around you guess now have to go to birmingham to get decent food from now on

Our table faced the area where they throw out the garbage and put the dirty dishes. There was salsa running down the wall and the garbage was overflowing. The rice and beans were bland at best and the steak was overcooked and flavorless.
The margarita’s were delicious and our server was very kind and helpful.

This is a great place for small gatherings. We took my mom here for her birthday around 8 and it says they close at 10. So we were scared we were pushing it, but apparently we did good because the food was on point a little slow but delicious. The drinks were awesome and they sung happy birthday and gave them a birthday drink. Thank you all

The only complaint I have is the shrinkage! I've been eating at Los Tarascos for years, since they opened! The tortillas for the Quesadilla Tarasco used to be much bigger. As did the chips. Even the guac and queso is a ridiculously small portion for almost $6!!! I would normally give them 5 stars, but when I see one of the last good restaurants in town using the shrinkage method and hoping no one notices. They have also changed their cheese dip. Look and taste carefully. Mozzarella doesn't go in cheese dip. They are all back there laughing and thinking, "they won't know the difference". Even their guac is different. They don't put the same amount of garlic in it anymore.It is such a shame. It used to be authentic.

Authentic Mexican cuisine, waitress can't straight to the table 30 seconds after I was seated. I already knew what I wanted but she offered a few minutes that weren't needed, placed my order and my food was on the table in 10 minutes roughly. Scorching hot with a hot plate, very good food.

The food was merely the sum of its parts; nothing was used to compliment anything else. The soup in particular just tasted (and looked) like water with chicken floating in it; with diced raw onions and tomatoes on the side you could add to it if you wanted to, but what's the point if they aren't cooked together? The burrito was cooked well enough but again, it felt like all the ingredients were a jumble of different flavors all competing to be noticed rather than working together.

If you aren't worried about the quality of the preparation beyond just that the food exists and is cooked, then the large portion sizes might make this establishment an attractive option relative to their average price range. It will feed you, but don't come here looking for anything more than edible food.

The food was really good. That's not the problem..it was our waitress. We had to constantly ask other employees to get her for anything we needed..to take our order..refills..to go boxes...the check. We also had a birthday at our table but were told they dont really do anything for birthdays....15 mins later she walked by with the sombrero singing to another table.

The service was great, the food was okay I ordered a shrimp cocktail it was good but the ketchup over powered the sauce. I also ordered a Paloma drink and was very disappointed that the main ingredient (grapefruit juice) was missing so it wasn't a real Paloma drink.

Gotta give them two thumbs up and around the world swirl on their Sea Food 🌊 soup. I was totally impressed by the abundance of flavor and the shrimp. They didn't skimp on the shrimp and the rest was awesome on a whole different level.

Awesome service!!! Food had potential but was just “meh.” I enjoyed their salsa though. I visited during non-peak hours and could tell they gave me leftover grilled meat from earlier in the day. It wasn’t fresh at all, but I would consider a second visit during busy hours I guess.

Took a while for service. Atmospheric felt like Chili's. The food was under-seasoned. The rice was nice but the beans needed more lard, and the pastor needed more everything. I can't try again. Too underwhelming to trust other menu items

Cairo went above and beyond to ensure our food was exactly as we wanted it, kept our drinks filled, gave us to go beverages, and was extremely pleasant and kind. We will absolutely be back, the food was great but Cairo cemented our patronage every time we visit Tuscaloosa!
