My husband had the chicken and steak fajitas and I had the chili poblano with chicken. Our food was so good and we have some to take home too. I would highly recommend eating here.

We just went here for the first time two weeks ago. We have gone twice and both visits were pleasant. We enjoyed our meals. This restaurant gets packed at dinner time so I recommend going to dinner earlier than you might ordinarily. Our last visit was on a Monday which is usually slower for restaurants, but not here! It was packed! We enjoyed the steak tacos, pork tacos, and taco salad. The prices are very reasonable. With 4 drinks and 4 entrees, we ate for about $47 plus tip. It's one of the most affordable restaurants I've been to in a long time. If I were feeding a crowd, this is where I'd go.

AVOID! They have no idea how to make a quesadilla.
Salsa is bland as well.

Decent Mexican food. If I hadn't lived in Texas I would say it was the best, but having had more homemade Mexican food in the past, I know the difference. However for Alabama, it's close! The staff is amazing! The kitchen will do modifications if you ask. I've had several dishes on the menu outside of the "staples," and I've never been disappointed!

Standard Americanized Mexican food. Nice but nothing to differentiate it from all the others. It does have a pleasant dining area.
Update on 01/07/25 I can't rate the food this time as I never got any (except salsa and chips). In spite of it not being busy and staff sitting by the door, no one even took my drink order, let alone food. After more than 15 minutes I gave up and left.

Restaurants in this area are few and far between- this is one of the better spots. Quick service, better than any Mexican restaurant I’ve had in nearby Montgomery. However, consistency is lacking.

This place is a gem for Mexican cuisine! The interior is spacious and comfortable. Personally, the standout dish for me is their incredible chicken soup - it's the best in the area, hands down! I like to take it to the next level by asking them to add a fried egg on top, which adds a rich and creamy touch. Highly recommended!

The food was really good! It was our first time there and we were not sure where to pay. We asked two servers and could not understand their response. The third one we asked took out payment. Then as we were walking out, there were people paying at the entrance before they left. There was no one at that area when we came in to the restaurant. So, that could have been posted or something to make it clear where we were to check out. Other than that, the visit, the employees and the food was very good. Made a nice visit.

I like this place a lot. The service is usually pretty good. We love how roomy the place feels. The prices are very reasonable and the portions generous. My only wish is that the food quality and tastes would move up a notch or two. The food is okay, but I haven't ever had a dish that I would say was really good.

This is one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants in Montgomery. They have authentic food and a great wait staff. My favorite thing to eat on a cool day is their Sopa de Pollo (Chicken soup). Be cautioned, all their food is served with a large portion of meat.

This was my first time dining at this restaurant. I was driving home to Montgomery and I saw this restaurant as I drove by. I turned around and I am glad I did because it was a very good lunch. I enjoy small time restaurants much better than chain restaurants. Unfortunately I rarely drive in the direction that the restaurant is located. I highly recommend El Rancho Grande restaurant.

Family gathering today at lunch- 19 people- service was over the top. One waiter- 15 minutes after orders taken, food was out - all served so quickly so that we were all eating at same time. Everyone very complementary of food and service.

Banned over an order. They threatened me with the police all because i went there for sauce even when i was polite. I told them i served my country and was here on leave and they looked at me and laughed. When i questioned him of course he got nervous and the lady stopped laughing and begged me to leave. It was pathetic. The positive reviews are a smokescreen.

Look whatever your policies are it is what it is but you banned by cousin over a food order.Whatever insecurities you have for him was a personal problem on your end and it shows that not only is this business rotten and bland the manager himself is rotten and weak. If he can make a choice like that over something so small when theres plenty of mexican restraunts around, that proves he doesnt even respect his business nor does he respect the people he works with because that food is as tasteless as his care to run a proper business. It goes hand in hand i guess. No wonder so many are getting sick in there. Even Taco bell makes a better burrito than they do. At least its actually properly cooked.

The food was alright but the server was terrible. He was rude when speaking to us and, once our food arrived, we never saw him again.
We had to go to the register, and tell them what we had ordered so we could pay and get out.
There was another server who noticed we were out of chips, brought us more. She seemed nice but the other guy needs to find different work.
We would have scored it higher if we'd had better service.

Relatively new to the area. Started going to el rancho grande and haven’t had any reason to stop going here. Huge menu, cheaper drinks, and wonderful atmosphere. All servers do a great job. Chinicki is my favorite. He is very friendly and attentive. I always ask for chinicki.

If you follow me you know my family loves Mexican and this place will definitely not disappoint you! Waiter was fun and made some great suggestions and was great with the crazy grand youngins and their friends! We had a party of 10 plus the 5 kids and everything came out quick and delicious.
