Taco City

Its a small taco shop but very efficient. I noticed people usually order through the drive thru. I got a burrito. I was not expecting for it to be huge. I got the Mule by the way. It does have a lot of rice. Overall its good. There's some parking and a small patio area.

We were pleasantly surprised with good food and kind service. There is a small area inside where you can eat and a nice outside deck. The food was reasonably priced and pretty good. There's no way that you can compare these tacos to some of the other restaurants because these are more authentic and taste homemade. Both of our meals were good. I can tell that the employees here are really trying to do their best. Best of luck to them.

I placed an Orderchiccarones Tacos with cilantro and onion and a side of limes made my purchase and when I got home, I realize they gave me two bacon and potato tacos. I called back to The restaurant and let them know that they gave me the wrong order. I also explained to the lady that I lived far away and could not come back and she would not even replace my tacos even though they got my order wrong. This is horrible customer service.

We loved everything we ordered! Loved all of them. The tacos are very fresh and delicious. It's not a place for sit downs. There were only a few seats PLUS outside patio seating, but not a lot. It gets crowded when it's busy. There's also a drive-through. Friendly environment!

This sucked all the hype about this place and they have Potatoes and Chorizo on the menu BUT they don't have it you HAVE to add eggs??? My baby just wanted potatoes and chorizo as on the menu. WHERE CAN I GO TO GET A GOOD POTATO AND CHORIZO TACO OR PLATE AROUND HERE??

October 2024 Update- Still have issues with them basically always forgetting limes and salsas. The last order was potato and egg tacos, and the potato wasn't even half cooked. I dont eat here anymore. What's going on in Taco City? We need yall to get it together. When they run properly, they have good food. But people want and need their condiments, and it would be nice if the food was actually cooked.

It's a love-hate relationship here. I love their food, but I swear, EVERY TIME I go, I ask for limes, and I can bet money that they will forget it. It's extremely annoying because I come very often and I need limes- even offered to pay for them if necessary. Without fail, they forget it EVERY time. It's super annoying to go park and get out for some limes. The prices used to be great, but due to COVID, a 5$ burrito is now $8. I accept inflation but the poor customer service, and they have lost a customer. If you are reading this, please train your employees to double-check orders and include all salsas/limes asked for! Also, whenever I pull around to allow the next car to order while I wait for my food, the employees will wait for both my food and whoever is behind me to be ready before bringing my order out 🥺. Unfortunately, they do this every time. I don't want to wait for someone else's food to be ready before I get my order. They have lost a good customer as we eat out all the time, and my husband eats tacos at least 7 times a week. We will not go back.

My best friend got food poisoning 4 days ago. He's been in a real bad way for 3 days. And he doesn't eat breakfast, so it leaves only this place, for the day!. Most likely undercooked pork.

The meat portions are ALWAYS LITTLE.
But today this happened: I asked for a breakfast burrito with bacon 🥓 eggs 🍳 potatoes🥔 cheese🧀 and beans. I get my burrito and it had👉🏻NO BACON 🥓.I brought this to the ladies attention and while I was showing her she said “yes, I see bacon right there” it was beans y’all and she was mistaken it for shredded bacon. She then says she is going to tell the cook and nobody ever comes to talk to me or tries to fix it. So I take the burrito to the window and tell them again I paid for bacon 🥓 and there isn’t any. They remake it with an attitude and when I get my burrito back it a sloppy grease mess dripping from the burrito and NO POTATOES🥔.
Went back today (a couple years later) and same thing.. not much bacon, dried out eggs. You can tell the tortillas are not fresh, they’re dried out & flakey. Everything about the burrito tasted like it was not fresh.

The best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to!
I highly recommend the giant burrito- it’s about a foot long and so delicious! Everything I’ve tasted from here has been cooked and seasoned to perfection. An easy 5 stars from me.

DRY, Nasty. I posted a picture of the chicken fajita quesadilla. It looked like eggs, very dry! I tried to take it back and showed them. They did nothing. We will never be getting food from them again.

I’ve been here three times in the last week and each time I get meat that was cooked several hours prior. I even switched from beef to chicken in the hopes it might change the freshness of my meal but it doesn’t seem to matter. I’m starting to think they just make a big batch of meat early in the morning and serve it all day long. Go to any other taco truck in Alvin and you’ll get a better taco, no contest. Everything here sucks.

I have liked this place for a while, but clearly management is giving up.. the workers are rude, and will quite literally give me the opposite of what i ordered. I give people slack if it happens once or twice, but after the 10th time, i will not be going back, the food isn’t good enough to deal with service.

They never get the orders right. No matter how specific in detail and no matter how many times my order is repeated to them. They still manage to put whatever they desire on the tacos. And when you go in and ask for them to give you what you actually ordered and PAID FOR. They catch an attitude and multiple times have not said a word and just threw the item on the counter after asking for the correct order. Oh and don’t bother asking for limes because they will have a heart attack and get mad at you for wanting an item on their own menu.

No meat what do ever!!!!!! I was here on March 6th ordered a fajita torta and literally had about two tablespoons of meat... Taste is ok but not nearly enough in terms of portions.. I really hate how greedflation is taking over all businesses. You should really think about what you're doing... Today you lost 1 customer tomorrow another and so on ..
By the way,,, this was not the first time this has happened..

It’s ok but in a jam it’ll work. Juanitas is better but the hours aren’t the best for my schedule. Panchito’s on Hwy 6 is better also.

Had the carne asada mega taco and added sour cream. I’ve always loved taco city and have written reviews in the past for them but the quality of the food has really gone downhill lately. The meat was not made to order. It was unbelievably dry to the point I took two bites to confirm I wasn’t crazy and threw the rest away… not worth having a sore jaw to chew through that excuse for asada. They are clearly cutting corners by heating a bunch of meat up and then just reheating it. Tasted like peppered beef jerky inside a flour tortilla with 4 day old pico….. the sour cream didn’t even help. I would not be surprised if they are reheating precooked meat in the microwave… cannot fathom another reason it was both overly hot and dry 🫤. The counter service though is still great and the staff is friendly. There are enough good taco places in Alvin that I probably won’t come here again.

I always get the same tacos nothing changes. How ever the employees do and so does the price of the tacos for each employee. The bigger guy says 5$ the women say 8$ and today 10$ from some young kid! I get inflation but how is it 5$ one day and the next 10$ and then the third day 8$? I’ve literally tested it! Are they just scamming?!! THEN ON TOP OF ALL THAT I DONT EVEN GET EVERYTHING I PAID FOR ON MY TACOS!!! I used to spend so much money at this place. It’s so sad to see what it has come to. Honestly should have kept the taco truck on 35 and sold the restaurant. The ladies in the taco truck know how to throw down and take care of you.

I’m done with this place for good.

I ordered 3 corn tortilla tacos, cariñitas, pastor and fajita. Honestly top 5 for tacos in my life!
Only improvement I could suggest is selling aguas frescas- I don’t believe saw those on the drink menu.

They have a quick drive through, I will bring coming back!

Got “The Mule” Burrito, I’m a big boy and couldn’t eat but 1/2 of it. It was probably the best beat burrito I have had since being stationed in Southern California in the early 2000’s. Wife got the torta and loved it too. The Salsa…. A must have, so darn good!

Great food, great service, don't pass this place up. The mega breakfast taco with chorizo was an amazing start to my day. Only issue I had was squeezing pass a table to get in. Other than that it was clean, the menu is easy to read, and the staff is very polite.
