I went to this place recently for the first time and I loved how they decorated it during Christmas. They didn't have much to offer for vegetarians so we just had guacamole tacos and a pineapple drink. What I loved was that everything was freshly made. The salsa that they served with nachos was fresh and so was the guacamole. Although their service was slow we waited for almost 20 minutes just to get the tacos. Moreover, it would be great if they had more vegetarian options!

We had probably the best Tex Mex in Texas Friday night. Our server was incredible, and this place was PACKED, yet somehow all of the waiters harmonized perfectly. It was his first day (Edward) and we wouldn’t have known if he didn’t tell us. He recommended the steak fajitas (absolutely UNREAL) for my husband and a chicken dish for me that I can’t remember the name of, but had a cream cheese sauce over. 10/10 recommend both of these dishes- seriously out of this world experience haha I’m not even kidding, and we love authentic Mexican food even so you know it’s real.🥱🤣

I've been working in Highland Park for several years now and Mi Cocina has been my go-to lunch spot. The food is very good but the staff/team is the BEST in the world. I walk through the door at noon and the bar staff is already preparing my seat and drink. Esteban, the most proactive and helpful man I've ever known, will have my chips and salsa ready before I even sit down. Not only that, he knows my taste and always recommends new things to try at the restaurant. He always gets it right.

I can't recommend this place highly enough, the staff feels like my extended family and it's great to feel like an appreciated customer. Try the mambo taxi, mama's tacos or the Pollo Pica Pica- you will not be disappointed!

This place charged my card twice. My waiter Miguel N told me that my charge did not go through, even though I showed my Amex charges. Then once I finally agreed to pay AGAIN, they assured me my card wouldn’t be charged twice. It was. They scam. They were also extremely rude in this entire situation

I found out on Twitter that the store has been updated and I visited.
I entered the store after 11:35, and there were 4-5 people at the counter. There were about 4 or 5 other groups at the same table. As expected from a famous Tex Mex restaurant.
What I received was:
• Mi Tierra Nachos
• Chicken Fajitas
• Fajita Salad
The nachos are tasty. I felt that the margarita was strong for Mexican dining.

Chicken Fajitas. Tastes like dry mushrooms. Since there are no mushrooms. The chicken is pink and raw.

Fajita Salad!
The recipes were good as usual Ultra rare!

As it is a famous restaurant, I felt that the taste was consistent and consistenter and consistentest.

I flew into Dallas last minute and was craving good Texas Mexican food. A friend of mine recommend Mi Cocina in Highland Park. Upon arrival the hostess was very friendly and accommodating. My mother and I sat outside and our server Geo greeted us immediately. He gave great recommendations for food and everything tasted amazing. As a former New York restaurant owner I must admit the level of service and hospitality Geo gave us was 5 star level! He’s the type of employee you want to train all of your waitstaff! I will definitely come back here next time I’m in the city! Thank Geo for such a wonderful experience!

My friend told me we had to go to Mi Cocina in Highland Park Village, and it was a perfect spot for me and my girls ! This place was busy but definitely worth the wait. As it was my first time there our server Luis A. was wonderful and quick on his feet. I didn’t know what to get to drink or eat but he suggested the perfect meal, a Mambo Taxi with Poblano Enchiladas! Great food/ drinks and amazing service. I had such a great time with my girls and will definitely be coming back.

My first and last experience dining in this restaurant was one of the worst considering the location where this restaurante operates, next to highly esteemed brands, you would expect world class service right..? Well no, when arriving with in the hours of operations of the restaurant you are expected to be served just at any other, however the arrival of me and my friends were met with a physically annoyed host, and a server that at that at the end of our meal stated in a rude and annoyed way to "next time come earlier" as in to say that we where somehow inconveniencing him. Least to mention the impression that was left from our out of town friends. I truly hope this issue is resolved with the server and host personnel, management was advised on site of this issue and hope is corrected.

I will not be dinning nor recommending this restaurant to anyone.

I have a dairy allergy, and unfortunately I found it hard to communicate that with the staff. The tacos they were able to make me were flavorless, other than searing hot peppers. The drinks were nothing special.

I usually don’t write reviews, but this one deserves it. We went tonight to mi cocina-highland park with friends, we had people visiting us from Austin and they got to the restaurant around 10.20pm the restaurant does close at 11pm so we started ordering food and drinks and the restaurant was still full… all was good, the drinks, atmosphere.. we had a nice time… however when we were leaving the table the server told us “ come earlier next time” in a very rude tone… we were shocked… the restaurant closed at 11 we were gone at 11:20 just like some other customers… you don’t tell your customers something like that specially when they were nice to you and tipped you over 20% … I reported this to the manager on my way out… when I was leaving I told the hostess “ bye, thank you” since she had nothing to do with the bad experience with our server at the end…she totally ignored us… im just shocked at how rude they were, only the bussers and manager were nice and polite with us. Bad bad experience

Luis was amazing as our wait staff. The appetizer, Shrimp wrapped in bacon with jalapeño a side of pablano and a spicy sauce was a big hit with my friends from Nevada. The entree '57' is huge so consider sharing! I had the Rico salad with Chicken and the chicken was so very freshly cooked, very soft and juicy. I always use the salsa as a dressing =).

I have been going to Mia Cocina for over 20 years now and I feel compelled to let you know that every single time has been fantastic!!! You know you are in a great place when you see the same staff there over the years.
Francisco is the best waiter there is and I request that he wait on me and my party every time I go eat there. He has become a dear friend and he is on top of providing you the best dining experience possible no matter how packed the facility is. I do not normally write reviews online unless it warrants one, and over the many years I have dined there I feel that I need to commend Francisco and Mia’s for their excellent service and cuisine!
I’m 63 years old and I will never go anywhere else for Mexican Cuisine!

It's not only "Mi Cocina" but all eating places in Highland Park Village are in the same boat. Too many people, too long wait or lines. Not worth the hassle in that "High Luxury" mall when you can go to any other place.

This was my first time at this location and it was a great experience! The service was 10/10, our server Issac was very attentive and welcoming. He made sure we always had drinks + whatever else we needed and was able to give us good recommendations on the food. The food was amazing and came out pretty quickly! Over all I was extremely satisfied and will definitely be going back again.
