Ruby's Mexican Restaurant #5

This is a restaurant that understands that word of mouth and the food that goes in it is the best marketing. The food is exactly how you’ll see it on the menu and it comes out so fast. The servers are very attentive as well. My husband usually orders the same things at restaurants but here he has trouble choosing what he would want because there are so many good options! He had the red enchiladas in the photo I attached.

Definitely would recommend #1 and #2 pictures below. Only problem we had is had hair in our chip sauce. But still decided to order. And they did not disappoint.

Ruby's was a new find for us and we were not disappointed. The chips, that came before the meal, tasted freshly made and were thicker than normal, an awesome surprise. We wanted to try their street tacos and got one of each meat option. The steak and chicken were our favorite but all were great. We can't wait to try more things on the menu. #GoogleGal

As always, this place is amazing. I recommend this restaurant to everyone out there. Today October 2024 I ordered some dobladas, the best! I love the new restaurant here in White oak. It's very big and lots of space. The good is incredible, as always. I always get the doblados. This new place is very clean. The people attending are very nice but most of all... the food is excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Love this place. We had only visited the Tyler locations and was so happy to have one closer to us! We had the Birria Ramen and green enchiladas. Both did not disappoint! Everything was fresh and hot! They also gave chips and salsa before our dishes came out. We had the mango, dragonfruit, and strawberry lemonade drinks. All were delicious. We will definitely be back !

I wasn't really hungry so I got a large corn in a cup and this watermelon drink which was really delicious by the way the corn in the cup was good also I will be back to purchase more food will post soon the gentleman at the counter was really sweet and welcoming so was one of the cooks she held the door open for me so I could carry my stuff out they are very nice

Went to Ruby's in White Oak today. Haven't been anywhere in forever and I wanted to try it since I absolutely love the Ruby's in Tyler. I didn't think it through apparently. I took it for granted that it would be as good as the Tyler location and it's not. Not even close. It's also Monday, the worst Day of the week to go out to eat. I had Doblado (combination) Birria. 1 of each, Barbacoa, Chicken, AL Pastor and Shrimp. I have to be honest, I was surprised at Chicken, Shrimp and Al Pastor. They were okay. That's all I've got. They weren't terrible but they were a far cry from great and I don't know what that Consommé is but it is NOT a proper Birria Consommé. It tasted like Bouillon and was very bland and doesn't even look like Birria Consommé should. There is clearly no Guajillo Chile in it. I also got a Shrimp Cocktail. Shrimp was overcooked and chewy. It was sweet and needed some Spice. The sweet actually tasted like watered down Cocktail Sauce. Sigh. The Salsa Verde for Street Tacos was good though. That was the best thing they had, the Salsa Verde for Street Tacos and we asked for a hotter Salsa.
I can't say that I recommend this location for the price. I was expecting much better.

It was a cute restaurant and exceeded my expectations. The employees were very friendly. The chips and queso was really good highly suggest ordering. Authentic Mexican food. The Poblano Chicken Burrito was very good and was a large portion. The salsa and avocado sauce were great, but I would have loved to have bigger bowls of it. The service was fantastic. Very friendly and attentive. We will definitely return.

Stopped to try the new place in town. Food was FANTASTIC! Flavorful, cooked correctly and plated very well. We were the only people in the restaurant that afternoon, so not much atmosphere. Low ceilings, so the place feels small, but the food more than makes up for the vibe. Give it a try!

I've eaten at the original location in Tyler and lately have been going to the location in WhiteOak,so I will talk about WhiteOak..the Shrimp cocktail is awesome, the the Pozzole is terrific and is served in a gigantic bowl,served everyday at this location. Service is friendly and fast.

My favorites are (hard decisions ) doblados quesadilla pastor , and green chilaquiles, I love the atmosphere, is amazing to see all friendly employees , clean space., and even the restrooms

Pretty Good Mexican Food Chain in East Texas . Usually pretty good food and drinks , reasonably priced and a great selection of options. I love the steak and cheese taco combo .. 👌👍

People were super friendly and the food was really good I got the birra, and it was excellent. I didn't try anything else but I did see that they are super heavy on cheese so if you don't like that much cheese I recommend just tell them half the cheese.

We had the birria tacos, rice, and beans. EVERYTHING was so delicious! The salsas were so flavorful and not just hot like most. I'm eagerly looking forward to going back and trying everything on the menu! Also, the service was wonderful.

Man I am a sucker for some tacos! My favorite would have to be the #1 with barbacoa! Juicy meat! Pair that with a strawberry lemonade and u have perfection in the making.

This is not The Real Rubys Like in Tyler I spent 43$ and the birria tacos was awful i so disappointed it’s not the same shell it just had some weird n Tyler that’s what I thought White Oak was I wish I could’ve gotten my money back

We wound up eating there because the other place we had planned to go had closed early. It was Christmas eve about 4pm. Ruby's was open until 5pm so we went there instead. They were very friendly, especially the waitress, and very accommodating. Their chips are different than any chips l have had before but they were very good. I had the Doblados with barbacoa meat. It was delicious. The portion size was more than enough. There was an interesting combo of fresh vegetables on the side. Cilantro, onion, and radishes. It was delicious as well. I was impressed that the food was not the plain old Tex Mex that most every other place serves. Please go try this place out! It is next to New Pier on Hwy 80 in White Oak/Gladewater area. I wish them the best and hope their business will flourish!

So I’m guessing the white oak location charges for the broth you dip your tacos in? Then I guess because I don’t know the difference between their tacos I guess I ordered street tacos, not a fan. I order all the time in Tyler and if I ask for 3 individual tacos I normally get that, so I’ll just stick with the Tyler location

Their Birria tacos are the best around! If you go you have to try the Tres Leches cake!!!! Their staff is very friendly and hospitable as well! Just an overall great experience!

We have been to every Ruby's throughout Tyler and now White Oak. The food is always very good but the service at the White Oak location was hands down the best! All of the other locations are minimally friendly at best but the White Oak location was very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

We have been wanting to go to a Ruby's for months and finally made it today....It was like stepping into a fond memory of my travels in Mexico. This is not Tex Mex. It is authentic Mexican and done well. Mom had the tamales beans and rice....huge tamales and delicious. I had green chicken enchiladas with potato tacos that were amazing. The prices are great for the amount of food. The only bad thing I can say is they were out of flan. But promise I will be back to eat and have my flan soon. The employees were extremely friendly and nice....a great experience all around.

I WILL NOT BE BACK TO THIS PLACE BECAUSE THEM MEXICAN CHICAS IN THERE HAVE GOT TERRIBLE ATTITUDES and I wanted to like this place but as soon as I got there it looked like an abandoned warehouse. The one misled and misguided girl in there didn't act like she was able to do her job and she acted like a DRILL SARGEANT after telling me "THATS NOT MINE" When i was about to approach the counter and someone elses stuff was on the counter. Why the hell were you bringing it out to the counter if the customer hadnt arrived yet and your werent watching it? Screaming it from across the room. I confronted her about it when the other customer did come to pick up the order. I was like She screamed at me thinking I was going to take your order. This is not good customer service. Then when I was trying to go back up there and tell the supervisor about that kind of behavior another untrained girl who works there came up to where me and the supervisor were talking and said EXCUSE ME like she was trying to interrupt our conversation. Plus the food was not anything to brag about. Depending on whose there at the time, they obviously have no respect or regard for customer service.

The smell the comes from the kitchen is nothing less than amazing. Food presentation is on point as well. Friendly staff. Did I mention the food was amazing. I will definitely be back to my new favorite local Mexican restaurant!

No frills Mexican restaurant that serves more traditional Mexican than Tex-Mex. He had the flaunts, and I had the birria tacos. Both were out in under 5 minutes and very delicious. Their sauces are spicy, so I suggest the horchata. I'm fairly certain it doesn't come from a mix based on how fresh and creamy it tasted. They also have other homemade lemonades. They were out of desserts so I can't wait to go back and try those and some other menu items. Thr only negative is the parking lot is small and is packed every time I go past. I'm so glad after 35 years or so that building has a permanent restaurant (let's cross our fingers!)

Worst experience with the birria tacos , gave me and my best friend food poisoning ,upset stomachs and nauseousness .the consomé tasted very bad. Staff was nice the restaurant is cool the drinks are good but not so much with the quesa birrias.

Absolutely wonderful authentic food. Reminds me of home and my childhood. I will be a repeat customer from now on. Absolutely worth every penny. Large portions, fresh veggies, just overall an absolutely wonderful experience. If you haven't tried this place, definitely go and you will not be disappointed. I'm so glad I came here for lunch today ☺️ I'll have the pambazo next time. Red enchiladas were very authentic and correct, very hard to come by a place that makes them correctly 😁👍

Some of the best authentic Mexican Food around. Try something new. Order the four taco plate with different meats. See which one you like best. They're all good. The Aguas Frescas are made fresh daily and they taste wonderful. Order at the counter first, then take a seat. We'll be seeing you again real soon.

@10am. With 1 other couple in the restaurant we were handed menus and told to sit where we want. Then come back to the counter to order? So after ordering and getting our coffee , had to ask for, suger, creamer, spoon, and got a dirty spoon. Obviously. Only had one creamer because it kept being taken away to other tables. In closing, at the time we were in the staff were fully capable to care for the few customers that were in but chose NOT too. Lazy ? Not customer service driven for sure. So much MORE could have be done/given , and the food was average.
Will not be back. To many other Great options for breakfast !
